!!!LINKS IN DESCRIPTION!!! I used 110lb cardstock and a regular printer, lots of cutting and patience. It takes about 30 minutes to make one box, so don't try to do it all in one day. blank template - i.cubeupload.com/w0LicR.png Cover Project - www.thecoverproject.net
Dynamic Quest System

Just created a new system using risk, dice wars, and guild wars 2 as inspiration to make a dynamic world-changing event system in for any tabletop rpg (or just as a fun board game).

My best friend, Sam, just passed away. I drew a ponified caricature of him, because like me he was a brony. I actually introduced him to the show. I am pretty sure he would have wanted to be a pegasus, so he could fly around and whatnot. Miss you, Sam. I hope you're flying around Cloudsdale!

just get a game and play make up all your own ruls mods if want and try to be realistic about combat and not let basic magic spells be limited in tardy ways
ad&d world building was no1 planar travel relics artifacts all kinda devisl demons n baddies and just danger galore
dex should be way more pwoerful as should shield and armour should block damage maybe even be a roll
harn tunnels n trolls cthulhu erlic stormbringer ad&d 1983
2nd ed WEAK not an improvement over 1983 1st edition!!!!! never use a system made after say 1983!!
Top notch, thank you!
Table top RPG you heathen. It is an RPG it is the Palladium Fantasy RPG not the Palladium Fantasy TTRPG. The TT is only necessary for the NUBs who don't know that the pen and paper RPG was the first and not the video games that only simulate role playing. If anything the video game RPGs should be rebranded as RPSs (Role Playing Simulator) as they can never truly replace the possibilities of an actual RPG.
The set-up is very classically millennial.
Palladium games > D and D
Don't forget Ninjas and Superspies!
This was my first ttrpg…brings back a lot of memories
Palladium: we sue everybody! (which is why I quit them)
Palladium was my introduction to TTRPG's way back in the late 80's, one of my mothers friends had the original black and red cover book which they got for tattoo inspiration only. I laid claim to the book and that started my enjoyment of Palladium I ran a couple of long term campaigns with it unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to find people to play it as they prefer the "What superpower do I have" games that D&D has become
I would have said in 2019 that the Satanic Panic warnings about violence and the supernatural would have been ridiculous. But we now live in a world where anybody at any time can tap an X card and bring the game to a halt, where some character sheets have space for personal pronoun, where they've put new warning labels on things about colonialism and racism, etc. I think that the gamers of today are far and away more ridiculous than anything from the 1990s. At least back then they didn't think orcs were secretly black people.
Great flavour and setting. Gritty and dark if desired.
Music was great too, very nostalgic. +1
There is so much lore out there. Tons of world books
Just came across this today, never heard of this game but sounds cool. I love the old school black and white pen sketches.
"Remember an old company " they still dropping new books to this day
Just found this channel.. Excellent video on a game too forgotten. New sub!
Love Palladium! Didnt care for the Fantasy rpg, art was great though. TMNT and Robotech were the best
Stray Cat Matt? Are you familiar with Palladium's TMNT Kickstarter last year? =)
I am not, but that's awesome! I'll have to look into it.
Wow, the photography and music make it worth watching this review alone - and that too is good! Well done, Stray Cat Matt! =)
It had a comparatively realistic system with combat that was actually fun. The damage is a bit of a cludge, and I thought it should have included crits.
If Kevin wasn't batshit insane, Palladium would have a lot more love today.
Each area of the PFRPG world had it's own source book with a lot of details for the history, culture, and native peoples. Some areas were done better than others, in terms of playable details, but all of them added color to the gaming experience. There was/is a large errata file to handle the multiple errors, missing information, and contradictions in the books. There is also a summary list of the questions players submitted that were answered by the authors.
@27 seconds in, 'BLASPHEMY!!!"
Good overview. I know you released this three years ago, but there are many supplements out now, detailing the Palladium world. HUGE amounts of detail!
I have most of their old school books, but have actually been playing one of their newest games "dead reign " alot lately
@@reapersritehand I have a bunch of that stuff too, and the flavor is great. Love the bit in the main manual where they describe how many zombies would be within say 1000m in any big town or city. Never run or played it, but love the setting.
palaldium has liek 20 games now u homo adn supplements all over the place
You made me buy a copy on eBay. Thank you for letting me backslide on my hoarding addiction. :)
1:50 So fucking cute
Love Palladium Fantasy. I played it for years and though I have played dozens if RPGs and mostly play ither systems these days PF will always be dear to me.
I genuinly do no believe there is such a thing as "not skilled enough to be an artist" The very second you put pen or pencil to paper, you are more than skilled enough to be an artist. If you want to be a successful artist, what you need is not technical skill, it's a mixture of focus, creativity and a some amount of business sence. Technical skill is of cause very useful as the more of it you have the more opportunities it opens up as well as giving you more tools to express your creativeness. But in terms of the minimum amount of technical skill you need ? You just already have it Just look at XKDC for example haha
Is it Pa-lay-di-um? I always said Pal-a-dium (a as in arrow).
Palladium is an awesome game system that outshines 5th Edition D&D. However, their vagueness and usually horrible supplements took a toll on the game. The exception is The Island at the Edge of the World and the Northern Wilderness ones. There Monsters and Animals is good. Though you don't need it for the second Edition if you buy the Rifts Conversion book. Most of PB's supplements suck because you almost never get real maps. Just a bunch of rectangles, lines, squares, triangles, squiggles for plant life or river or lakes. TSR outshines PB's in supplement content and artwork. Some of Palladium books products are just pure laziness in art or explanations. Like the Dragon on the cover is from artwork from time life books the Enchanted World series. They just covered it in horns to hide that fact. You can see it in the Enchanted World book series commercials on RUclips. They have Vincent Price in them. Palladium Books became a victim of their own success with RIFTS. I hated RIFTS personally.
This review it's simply Beautiful, great work 👌
Palladium has tons of new stuff out for their games including licensing Rifts for Savage Worlds. Palladium is going strong, you need to review some of their new stuff.
Playing gnome mystic on a homebrew planet at the present time. 🧙♂️☺️😁😄
We used to combine in college, palladium and TMNT...had bull/cow based characters in San Francisco (since the turtles where in NYC)...yes we where those udder guys.
Wild West C.O.W.BOYS of Moo Mesa!
Honestly, this system reminds me of Dwarf Fortress adventure mode. The excruciating, perhaps excessive detail, and consequently constrained nature of it gives the impression of a compuiter program, where what isn't explicitly implemented isn't possible.
Really? I never got that impression from Palladium. Now Rolemaster on the other hand...
Gothry grizzlebock was my wolfen character. First character i made.
I never played dnd but i did play palladuim a good bit as a teen. I had every book.
i loved the Palladium system. its still one of my favorites. sadly finding players is near impossible these days.
I love that by "not condoning the occult" Palladium were lumping those idiotic christians into the same baskets with the so-called satanists they despised. I'm sure that was lost on the self-righteous though.
As far as them not planning major releases, it's worth noting that Kevin brought on Sean Owen Robertson, who did the Savage World's crossover line with Rifts, as his protege and creative partner. I heard on a podcast the ultimate goal is to eventually hand him the keys to the kingdom. But as for short term, they want to finish up currently planned and in production books and then focus on a system-wide long overdue update. I guess we could vaguely refer to it as Palladium 3e, since we've mostly just been getting errata for 1 and 2e printings of major product lines for quite some time.
I wish they made palladium bestiary in the 80s That’s one minute of a Designer that never get back. Not without a Time Machine.
The music from Ogre battle 64! I love it.
Hey this video was so good. Wonderfully shot, great music and just enough information to peak the interest of the viewer. Would love to see other videos on Palladium products!
My rca vhs camcorder have different problems when i turn on camera the motors run automatically for some seconds then camera offf its also broke plastic gear
This is exactly what happens with mine :(
@@theprophat do you find any solutions? I still facing this problem
@@Vintagelover1 no solution but it was worse when my plastic gear broke, so I suspect it could be an issue with that? Mine is the little white gear on the top left side so I have no idea how I'd even replace that without dismounting the entire inside from the body
