A couple of must-sees: Gotska sandön and blå jungfrun (Two really beatiful islands with quite special nature). Karlskrona (a bit of a time capsule of the military, fortifications, rope walk, and such, from the 19th century). The mountains up north (fjällen). There are lots and lots of cottages , so no need to bring a tent or camping stove. And while at it, pop over to Norway, it works basically the same there. (But check out the details, at least when I hiked in Norway, some cottages were unmanned and locked, so you needed to borrow a key from the Tourist board in advance). Tyresta national park, just south of Stockholm, a forest that has been basically untouched by humans for 100 years or so. I could go on forever, just the castles/pallaces would fill a whole page

I'm not familiar with the housing market in Kalmar, but I would have thought the prices to be similar to Ronneby, and I paid half of what you paid for my slightly larger house (from what I can tell) but in most ways very similar, albeit a totally different style. My house is from 1920 and was built for two families, so two kitchens, two bathrooms etc. The previous owner put in some extra insulation and I have five wood stoves (kakelugnar) to help with the heating, and the house is in the city center.

Interesting adventure! And cool seeing sweden from another perspective. A few tips to consider, since you talk about foraging, is to make sure you are careful with mushrooms! Learn a lot, and only go for the safe choices in the beginning! Like chantarelles that aren't easily mixed up with poisonous mushrooms. There are many kinds that are actually deadly or at least dangerous! There are cases of immigrants without local knowledge actually dying from mushrooms they had foraged. Also, there are a lot of tics in your area of sweden. So might be a good idea to get vaccinated against TBE.

Nice list! Happy to take you ice skating in Trondheim Norway coming winter. However, there is only a very short window of opportunity for any particular lake - from the ice is thick enough (5'ish cm) until the snow comes, usually a week or two in December-January. But you are indeed right, it is fantastic!

For hedgehogs, and other wild life, create a water feature in your garden. Allowing cats, birds and hedgehogs to drink fresh water. It might even be an idea for a public artwork. Something to collect rainwater on some type of roof/canopy and slowly make it available for wildlife. Could test it out in your garden first. Could be high-tech with solar panels, filters and pumps. Or passive, just collecting. Or somewhere in between with a clever balancing gravity regulated water supply. Also consider building some hedgehog nests. I have built four, placed under balconies in two apartment houses. Hedgehogs every year.

Regarding the prison bucket list item: Not quite prison and also not quite Sweden, but I managed to get a ride in a Norwegian police van by accidentally hiking on the Norwegian highway early in the morning. Being used to the German Autobahn and its signs, we thought it was a regular road. Apparently someone called the police on us. They were very friendly and gave us a ride to our destination. A Taxi for free with a great anecdote on top! 10/10 would recommend.

4:16 the skullcap of a fish, note the crest for the jaw muscles. Pretty big fish that far inland, do you have White-Tailed Eagles around? Bears have a habit to bite off the skulls of fish but they're not too common.

Your swedish is good, I think you are unfortunate with dialect in your area, those southern accents are, well they are different. Living of the land sounds nice, there are several survival books on this subject. "They" say if you manage to survive three days, you will survive. Don't try it at winter, of course. Now swedish prisons may sound comfy compared to prisons in some other countries, but it's still prison. Many people from other countries think that swedes are very inhumane regarding social interactions, because we are basically an introvert people that also loves bureaucracy. That's your first hint of how other things than comfort can make you feel unsettled.

Yay you saved the back of your yard for wildflowers!??! That's awesome! As long as you stay safe, I'd love to see you try to go by boat to Öland! I guess the easiest way to get to see a prison is to become friends with a criminal, so you can visit them! A great nature spot I can personally recommend in a neighboring county from you is *Skurugata,* (double sided ravine) make sure to go soon or in the fall because in summertime there's literally a queue of tourists through the entire thing and you really want to be alone there, also Eksjö old town. You definitely want to pass by *Norra Kvill* national park and meet the ancient oak tree, *kvilleken* on the way! It's on it's last limb so pay it a visit soon. 🌳 *But beware, the area around Norra Kvill is full of trolls!* There's also *Store Mosse* ("Big marsh") a little south near Värnamo. I recommend Gotland and obviously Öland (allvaret). Visiting the island *Visingsö* in the lake Vättern to see the forest of super tall and old oak trees planted to become epic war ships, also Gränna for traditional sweets. Any beech forest you can find (I see Bokenäs close to you). Also travelling around in the Stockholm Archipelago's on a warm summer's day and I hear the Vasa museum is great.

The only cases I can think of it was for allowing 'maskrosor' (dandelions) grow freely and that was up front and not by a note. But pretty much as long as you don't let 'maskrosor' grow completly free to spread to the neigbours or make it into scrap yard (a few former cars are OK but no more than that) I do not think anyone will complain.

You might be confusing Norwegian prisons which have more of a reputation of being comfortable. Either way I suggest not trying for it in either countries. The Swedish prison system is completely full and it would be quite irresponsible to use up tax money for what is sure to not be a pleasure tour.
