Collingwood School - Vermicomposting
Every grade 4 class had their own vermicomposting bin for four weeks. Students learned how a vermicompost bin is set up, what does and does not go in there and how to maintain it. Each class was able to look at worms, worm cocoons and other types of organisms under a magnifying glass and experience the decomposition process through weekly observations and by taking turns to look after the worms.

EcoBrick Project at Collingwood School

Collingwood students collected non-biological waste and stuffed it into plastic bottles in order to create reusable building blocks. These building blocks are called ecobricks. Students used these ecobricks to create furniture for the school. Through this project students were able to reduce the amount of plastics going into the landfill and our environment.
