Most of the rebuild documented. shows the reconstruction process and some dyno tuning. I missed some of the initial teardown.

Having a blast at ORP. Literal ground breaking at the new Oregon Raceway Park located in Grass Valley Oregon. The blast took place at 16:00 hours on June 17 2008. Be sure to check the web site www.oregonraceway.com for more updates. We will be racing in "09".
Just beautiful. All aspects. For me the wiring is #1. reason for me is that's the way I did my Owens.
First time watching this but not the first tine for me doing the same to an 65' Owens that I had. Enjoy. From the CA delta
Can I ask what the secret is to restoring the mahogany paneling ?
Amazing!!
Loved watching the progress videos! Been waiting for some boating videos and a walk through!
I have the exact same boat and I am in love with her. Sadly she is a fixer upper, how much did your restoration project run you?
Sorry that's not a restoration. It's a makeover
Great job! I have watched your vids about a dozen times now. We are restoring, remodeling, repowering our 2nd 34. Would love to meet up and discuss details, we are in the Tacoma Wa area. I also race PIR among others. KJ
Hi KJ, Wow your 2nd one... That's awesome! Let me see if I can figure out RUclips's PM and I'll try send you a message.
@@GT2Racer Sounds good. We could use a road trip south.
I would be interested in hearing any tips on access back railing backing material to make secure
Nice boat
Thank you!
Great work of art I salut you I would love to come and be an apprentice under your direction no salary or pay needed it will be an honor sir .
Thanks for the kind words. Be careful what you ask for 😅. She is basically finished and was a personal endeavor. However keep an eye out, I am trying to put together more informational videos and how-to's on projects I will be tackling in the future. something more than time laps.
@@GT2Racer keep up the good work I will definitely be keeping an eye out for Master pieces for sure !!!
Do u sell them?
No, this is just a personnel project.
Wow amazing job may I know who did the restoration I'm interested in getting mines restored please?
Thank you! I did all the restoration work, this was a personnel project. Good luck with your boat.
Incredible work, the boat looks fantastic 👍
Thank you!
Great job! I own a Uniflite 1972 Sportfishernman that is only 27 ft and I cannot imagine workingon a larger boat. Uniflite was an American treasure! Overbuilt and tough!
HUGE work 👍👍
HUGE work 👍👍
Excellent restoration but get rid of the cameramen, for future videos
Thanks. I'll work on that. Most of this was an afterthought, but I hope to do better moving forward. Didn't think that many would be interested. lol
That's a really good looking hull. I've seen the brand before but never noticed how good the lines are. Maybe different years or something but this to me looks better than the average Moppie type. The old Chris craft is hard to beat just because of the rarely . Bet she runs dam good.
Thanks Mike. She is one of the few models that had that flared bow and drop sheer. Which to me really makes a difference and also drew me to it. Has that sportfish look. She runs out very well. Hope to get back to her soon and continue some more videos. Thanks for your comments. 👍
All I can say is . . . WOW! That boat is not going to be as good as new, it's going to be even better!
Thanks Nico. I appreciate your comments. I hope to get back to her soon to get some more videos out.
👍SUPER👍
Thank you 👍
Bless you for the love and knowledge to keep that vessel alive and well.
Thanks Stephen. She definitely deserves a second chance. This brands quality warrants the work. Much like an old Bertram, Hatteras, or Chris... 👍
Incredible project / job…fascinating to watch…educational…well done [well doing]…
Thanks Norman. Much appreciated. I am looking forward to getting back to her and getting some more videos out. Hopefully better with instruction as well.
@2:14 what’s was being applied to the deck and panels ?
The product being applied to the deck is called kiwi grip. It's a non skid coating used to create or enhance a non skid deck or topside surface. www.pyiinc.com/KiwiGrip/ I was faced with either a re gel coating with textured mold, or applying a product to the existing deck. I chose to go this route as it was economical and fairly straight forward. My deck was in great shape structurally, it was just tired and in need of a refresh. So this was the path I chose. Also should I change my mind in the future, the kiwi can be removed and you can proceed with an alternative product. My goal with this boat was for functionality and ease of maintenance. We'll see, time will tell. Thanks
Wheres the walk-thru?
I wish you would not have put music in the video it is not like that in real life, I would rather hear the people talking while they work so we could learn more
Thanks Nick. Much of this was an afterthought. Hindsight I would have done it differently. I hope to do better in the future with more instruction as I go...I didn't realize how many would be interested.
o wow. u got one of the best channels i'm subbbed to.
TranslateSpeed Thanks 👍
You should have stayed with the same design manifolds they dont give you problems
Why this fcking music come one man
You were saying something like a walk through would happen? 😉 Love the project man!
Great job! You didn’t restore it, you made it better than original! Build a trailer and boat house for it instead of watching it depreciate at the marina!
Masdbo Thanks. Looking into some means of storage. Maintaining a boat left outdoors is definitely an ongoing job. 😎
Why all the music, drives a person nuts
Could have done without the music
I'm starting to work on a1973 Saratoga. I think I want to build a flybridge now!
WOW I'm still laughing!!! Just flipping incredible! AA+
Thanks 👍
Wow nice work!!
Unreal!!! Nice work
Excellent job! What was the non-skid that you applied on the deck areas?
Thank you. The non-skid is Kiwigrip in light gray. www.pyiinc.com/KiwiGrip/
Thanks! I have a26 foot fiberglass boat, built in 1966 by a company named Stamas, that I am restoring.
@@tamaralee4108 Stamas 👍 Good luck with your project!
nice driving
Thanks 😎 👍
Not much interested in musical pics, videos are the go sorry!
I'm absolutely amazed!! Truly stunning. Incredible work and workmanship!! And I'm a bit jealous as well......as I have this very same boat. 1973 Uniflite 34 Sports Sedan with the Chrysler 330's. Lake Erie boat since new. Near as I can tell mine is identical with the exception that I do not have the dinette- I have the factory sleeper sofa on the starboard side of the salon. My Uniflite hull number is 34S133. I would love to contact you as I have sooooooo many questions. But until then, Bravo!!
Hi Michael, Thanks for the kind words. 👍 34 is a great boat and great size. She has been a fun project and will be put to use this summer. 😁 I need to check my hull # They could be sister ships. Or very close on production. I would be happy to answer any questions or help wherever I can. I am attempting to put together a video walk and talk through as soon as I can dedicate some time to do a good job. If you have a specific question or area you would like details on please let me know. Also you can PM me if you would like. Thanks again!
Very cool.
Thanks Ron 👍
Very good 👍 video......l am from Malaysia
Hello in Malaysia! Thanks for the 👍 and thanks for watching.
Very impressive. Would you come work on my boat?!!
Thanks Alan Sure, no worries. You supply the beer! 😅
Great video and over the top craftsmanship.
Prepper Life Thanks for the kind remarks. She has been a lot of fun.
this is so cool
Thank You Wyatt13
Beautiful boat and well worth the restoration well done 🏆🏆🏆🏆
Thanks 👍
Wow. Amazing job. I got a 36ft double cabin a couple yrs ago as a freebie with twin Cummins 5.9s and a 9kw gen. I've been wanting to do a restore but pleasure boat type supplies are hard to come by in my small town. I'm slowly getting it. But yours is beautiful. What did she cruise at for sea trials?
They are a labor of love and enjoyment. The sea trials provided about a 22 knot cruise. Worth noting though, she had 240 gallons of fuel on board (full tanks), and she is not yet fully equipped with all her gear though I don't foresee much of a change in the performance once equipped. Also worth noting, the engines transmissions and props have all been upgraded. The lm340's are now 408's producing 330hp, the velvet drives are now 72c and she is spinning 4 blade props. I will be providing more details, specs and performance numbers in the future. Thanks again and best of luck with your 36DC 👍
Awesome. My dc hit 24kts wide open. The trim tabs made a 2kt gain after I fixed them. I'm sure mine is heavier. Yours will do better.
My dad had a '73 34-footer just like your. Great memories.
Very cool! Uni's are legacy quality boats worth saving.
@@GT2Racer I see from your registration # that you are in Oregon. We had our boats, first the 34' and later a 42' Uniflite in Newport. Where are you?
Fabulous!
Thank you!
I grew up in Bellingham. Spent my youth around the harbor. Used to jump the wakes of the Uniflite's that were factory testing. My middle school job shadow day was with thier naval architect. Nice to see a survivor getting a new lease on life.
Nice! Cool to think you may have seen this one being built or chasing it around the bay! I've always believed these Uni's were worth restoring. They are on par with any boat of the time and rivaled many. Thanks
