'P' is likely flashing because you need to invert Probe type in the Peripherals tab. If your machine is trying to force itself further than expected I suspect your limit switches are not working correctly. you need to check them first physically. When held in, does the light come on? if not, then you likely have a wiring issue or faulty switch.

@ST_Technik absolutely you can. The machine can be any size. Regarding speed, very high. We have run a Nighthawk at 30m/m before without issue.

@ST_Technik if using the full Nighthawk, nema23 is recommended. If using the standalone Nighthawk card, it can be coupled to any stepper driver you like, in which case any stepper can be used. If you prefer nema34, go with a standalone Nighthawk card at a higher voltage for best results.

@andregunther4200 if you are refering to Easel, it should work on any platform as it is browser based. If you are referring to our Commander software, it runs best on Windows 8.1 upwards on 64 bit. Our support for 32 bit is becoming rapidly limited as we move forward.

After a quick look up, your controller is GRBL based it seems which means the majority of Commander functions should work as expected. There is absolutely no need to purchase it to get Commander to work. There are no premium paid features in Commander. It is completely free. The only restrictions that exist are due to the controller you are using. Commander supports a variety of CNC controllers like our Nighthawk that has a lot of extra advanced features over standard controllers. In order to use some features, you must have a controller that supports them. Which controller are you using exactly? What are you trying to do?

never heard anything like that about the xpro. mb you should check ur cablesor PC connections drivers. etc.

@jasonparker1454 the most notable difference is that the Nighthawk has the ability to start an SD card job from a specific line. It also has better reporting of current machine conditions such as active job coordinate plane.

well Ive been trying to get my xpro to run my spindle for days the support sucks there are no videos or wiring diagrams I have been trying to work through this with zero luck and it gets more confusing by the day Maybe the Night hawk has better support and is more plug and play

Hi Jason, Commander is designed to work with most GRBL based controllers and the pendant control feature is available to any compatible controller that it is connected to, including the xPROV5. All features are available to all controllers with the exception of very few where there are specific advancements in features on our Nighthawk that simply do not exist on other controllers such as being able to start an SD card job from a specific line. This is hard to say, We've never heard of it. Have you tried it to see if it connects fine? What machine does that controller usually come with?

Ok, I just took a look. It runs on FluidNC so most likely not, we do not provide support for FluidNC because we simply cannot. it lacks all of the original GRBL settings in favour of it's own locked down settings config via YAML.

@@cnc3d thank you for taking the time to look into this! I wasn’t sure if the firmware could be rewritten to make it compatible as this is my first CNC build. It looks like I will grab the Nighthawk Control Card in the near future for an upcoming build!

@@mciarlillo1309 Awesome to hear you like Commander and the Nighthawk. :) Changing the firmware would be difficult as you would need to re-add in the settings pointers from what was removed from FluidNC. Commander may work but a lot of features will not function as expected and the easy settings config within Commander may cause errors.

Thanks for the feedback. You still can however, import a bitmap of text in a specific font. It is a handy work around. :)

This is likely a good sign. NC sounds like a good option but you may need to confirm with the vendor.

Hello. :) Do you mean when you open the firmware tool, you can't open a firmware file to select? You may need to track down your firmware file location first. The file open dialog box will only show bin files. It won't show any files that are not bin firmware files. Most likely, you either have not downloaded the right firmware file OR you haven't unzipped your firmware files. I hope this helps.

We're not entirely sure what you mean, these router adapters are quite general in their design. Regarding endmills themselves, This is dependent on several factors including material being used and rigidity of the machine. Absolutely! It is configured to auto detect your axes up to 6 OR you can tell it to force 6 axes in the settings menu. :)

Our limit switches are actually normally closed. We use optoisolators on our Nighthawk that inverts the limit type. :) You are spot on! Always use NC switches where possible.

Hi, There is not, but you can add a button for it in "My Buttons". Realestate is a precious commodity on the main window for an extra button. Try making a button. For the command, use "G90 G0 Z0"

Have you tried running Commander using Parallels? It seems to work quite well on it. :)

i suspect you may need to check what baud rate you connecting to in the settings. on the Communications tab. Are you sure you are using the right COM Port?

@@cnc3d yes, I’ve also tried the baud rate. Changed it in my device manger and cnc3d with no luck. I’m running test with USG right now with no problems. I don’t like USG and would much rather use your software however.
