Kasparov: his chess and politics
Просмотров 2733 года назад
Forced to choose between chess and swimming at age 7, Garry Kasparov chose chess. Training at Mikhail Botvinnik's chess school, he defeated Anatoly Karpov to become the youngest ever world chess champion at the tender age of 22. He's also no stranger to politics and controversy: he split from FIDE in 1993, and has compared Putin to Hitler. Sources: Kasparov forced to choose between swimming and...

I love Judith, especially her attacking style. But we have to be honest in our comparisons. Judith's 1 game win against Kasparov was out of a 1 to 7 loss in speed chess. In classical, she got her butt whipped 0 to 5. Don't get me wrong, at her peak, she was probably within the top 10 best active players, which is HUGE. It's better than billions of other men on the planet. But to say "she defeated Kasparov and beat Bobby's record" is a bit misleading. Bobby's style was tailor made for attacking styles. Just look at Bobby vs Spassky or Larsen. He thrived against psychological players and attacking players. There is no way in hell she's beating Bobby in a best out of 10.

lmao. she didn't prove anybody wrong. she was a statistical anomaly. the fact that she was the greatest female player but not even top 5 just shows that men as a general demographic dominate chess. she was trained by bobby fischer at a young age which is 90% of the reasons for her success.

It is because there are far more men playing chess than women. It's because women don't play chess much as men do.If more women play chess then it would be different. Women are also discourage to play chess in her time. They are same intelligence as men, the only reason is lack of participation in chess.

    • @chess871

You can't. Chess.com tournaments are not FIDE rated. You can get a FIDE online rating in the FIDE online arena, and a "real" FIDE rating in "real-life" tournaments.
