Differences in short between the two are... new version is 100% wool, old is 80% wool, 20% nylon I chose the version without epaulettes. next video is a washing experiment #madeinengland...

    Thanks for the information. I may try this when mine need their next cleaning next year. I will most likely try it out first on my old American military dress uniform sweater that no longer fits.( It's a 100% black version of the Wooly Pully with a patch on the breast and epaulets.) 50+ year old me and early 20 year old me are not the same size any more :)

    I have multiple versions and colors of the commercial ones. I use the ones with the pen pockets on the sleeves for my winter work wear. I use the ones without the pen pockets as more of an after work dress wear occasion. Here in the United states it's a chore finding these sweaters/jumpers in the non-tactical colors. I have ordered from the Outdoorknitwear site but shipping to the U.S. is freaking expensive. Lately I have found a site here in the United States that carries most of the models and colors. I have just put in another order for a field model ( the 1945 in OD) and a dress sweater (Patches, no pens, no epaulets in Rifle Green). I would love to find one of the military issued ones in my size here and add it to the collection.

    What’s better bamboo or polyester for base?

    • @RambloManiacs
      @RambloManiacs Месяц назад

      Not sure there's a "better" as much as it's a choice of what you prefer/value. Polyester is hard to beat for quick drying. Bamboo is more antibacterial so doesn't get as smelly and is very very soft. Bamboo is strong so can be made very thin to help with drying quicker. My thick bamboo socks take an eternity to dry though. Neither are particularly cold when wet.

    so my water kit is a steel bottle w/ steel cup and steel twig stove, a few filtration options (sawyer mini, aquatabs, millbank bag), the only thing i do different for coffee is boil the coffee; the only thing different i do for tea is sprinkle the leaves in after the boil is done. i can't say 'this is my brew kit' because its my water kit upon which i can always make tea/coffee, but this is a really nice setup for whats pretty much the same thing. water kit is a separate pouch that can be carried on its own or mounted in whatever way one could imagine to whatever larger kit is present. that pouch is high end and super nice

Next weekend is planned, kit is packed and rations sorted, looking at a dehydrated meal first evening, boil in the bag breakfast then see how we go. I was a die hard dual fuel 533 user until these more instant stoves came out, its a whole new ball game now. Turn tap, click lighter, boil water. I still use the dual fuel but its been resigned to base camp duties now.

    Hi, for good coffee on the go I buy green coffee beans, roast at home and grind it fine as for espresso. To brew I put as much coffee as I want straight in to insulated mug and pure almost boiling water about 200F or 90-95C over it. Give it a stir to get better extraction, wait 2-3 minutes or until coffee grounds settle on the bottom. That’s it, simple way to make coffee away from home. No extra equipment required.
