THE JIMNY ISN'T BUILT FOR THIS! A little look at why we're jacking the Suzuki Jimny!
When our friends over at @CRFSMedia said we should go green laning, we didn't think we'd end up on a 40° tilt!
A/T tyres are usually pretty fine for a bit of green laning, but we didn't expect the lane to be so rutted! The poor Jimny was like a beached dolphin (it's not quite big enough to have whale status) and didn't fair too well, which had us thinking... Perhaps it's time to buy a lift kit, some bigger tyres and get him JACKED!
More videos will be coming soon of the Suzuki Jimny, so make sure to subscribe it you want to see how we lift him and more adventures!

We BOUGHT an AMERICAN RV PROJECT and get started on the RENOVATIONS! It's WINNEBAGO TIME!
Просмотров 398Год назад
When the wife said she wanted an RV, I knew deep down she wouldn't mean something practical. Yes, my wife is the type of woman to go manly bits out swinging, big block burbling, head turning, Class 2 license driving, American flag flying OTT. So she bought a house on wheels. Quite literally. A 34ft Winnebago with a Chevy 7.4ltr big block under the hood. And the best bit? Other than it being big...
1971 BUICK RIVIERA is READY for it's ENGINE! CRANE AT THE READY! What could go wrong?
Просмотров 94Год назад
We have a car. We have an engine. Time to put said engine, in said car. Or so we thought. Dan is here, getting things ready for our 1971 Buick Riviera to receive it's first engine since the transplanted Olds 455 was taken out nearly 6 years ago! But as usual, rebuilding Classic Americans in the UK never goes off without a hitch. Much cursing was done. The dog had to leave the garage. The neighb...
OUCH MY EARS! The TENSIONER is SO NOISY on the PEUGEOT 306, IT'S EMBARASSING! Time to change it!
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.Год назад
This alternator belt tensioner is so loud Dan's parents can hear him on the highway from across the county! No exaggeration, this thing is loud! So, let's get it changed before glass starts breaking and dogs start chasing Pavlov down the road. Pavlov is the Peugeot, not Dan's nickname. Just in case you were wondering. *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Restoration channel....
The TRANSMISSION in the GMC VANDURA is COMPLETELY SHOT! Time to REMOVE AND REBUILD!
Просмотров 471Год назад
Yep, you guessed it. The transmission in the latest 'this shouldn't be a project but is now a project' GMC Vandura is DEAD. Kaput. Gone. So, we do the right thing and pull it out. But how easy is it to pull out and will Dan squash himself in the process, because, well, we don't have a lift. And the TH700R4 is heavier than a sumo wrestler full of cake. *We have uploaded the videos from the old H...
HOW DID THIS EVEN STOP? Changing BRAKE PADS on a VIVARO that were DANGEROUSLY LOW!
Просмотров 51Год назад
This van is just... We're surprised it had brakes really. Always make sure you check your brakes! The pads were so low we're surprised it stopped at all, let alone passed it's MOT! So, Dan does the right thing and changes the pads. Oh, and does a quick, mini brake fluid bleed whilst he's at it. *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Restoration channel. ANOTHER V8 PROJECT? Not one we asked for but this VANDURA has a FAILING TRANSMISSION! CAN WE FIX IT?
Просмотров 37Год назад
We have a VERY soft spot for American V8s, and holy, if we didn't just buy another one! Driving back, we found 5.2% of 2nd gear, 65% of 3rd gear and 0% overdrive. But Leia managed to drive the 100 miles home. We didn't expect a big mechanical project, but I guess we got one. Can we fix it before we plan to go away? Not sure. Probably. *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Res...
We change the TRACK ROD END on the VIVARO, WITHOUT affecting the tracking! WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
Просмотров 119Год назад
Can you change the track rod end without affecting the tracking? Yes. If you listen to Dan. Don't count your chickens though, you may need a helping hand from a hammer, or better yet, a grinder. Because, you know. Nuts and stuff. Be careful, wear eye protection and remember - no nut is too tough for Phylis. Phylis is Dans grinder. FYI. *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Re...
We bought a CAT N, DODGE CALIBER, UNSEEN from COPART UK! Can we get it back on the road?

We bought a Dodge Caliber from COPART UK without seeing it. Bad idea? Maybe. So, we decided to purchase our first COPART UK project which was a Cat N (non-structural, repairable) Dodge with accident damage. How bad is it really? And was this really the best idea? *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Restoration channel. To rewatch, all videos are in the Harrison Watts playli...
THE STEERING RACK FAILS! Subframe removal and restoring the ENTIRE steering rack! IS IT FIXABLE?
Просмотров 118Год назад
We were driving along and suddenly, lots of noise, steering gone and basically bad things happened. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Our recovery said nothing was wrong, was going to tow on an A frame instead of asking for a loader AND refused to take us with the vehicle (basically they wanted to abandon us at the side of the road!). Dan, in all his legendary awesomeness, found the issue within seconds of lif...
Removing the TIMING BELT on the VIVARO! THIS COULD HAVE DESTORYED THE ENGINE!
Просмотров 24 тыс.Год назад
This timing belt isn't looking too hot. It might go bang. So we decided to change it. Why should you change your timing belt at the correct intervals? Because if you don't, engine go boom. Pretty much. So we get the belt changed on the Vivaro and DAMN, it's lucky we did it when we did. *We have uploaded the videos from the old Harrison Watts Restoration channel. FAILING INJECTOR in 2007 DIESEL JAGUAR X TYPE! LEAK OFF TESTING and injector swap! Will it run?
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.Год назад
The Jaguar X Type is running rough as rusty nails. Can we fix it? If it's Dan, yes he can, pretty much all the time. To confirm the fault, it's injector leak off testing time! No point in replacing all the injectors if you can find the one that's being an asshat. So, let's do it! Oh, and if you have a 2.0ltr diesel Ford, it's pretty much the same engine. *We have uploaded the videos from the ol...

Why is it people miss out vital stuff. I can't get the light out even though I've removed all bolts. Probably a clip somewhere. I don't know whether to pull off the thin top bumper part, feels like it'll break. No one shows all of the process

the actuator is often to do with the turbo vanes being gunked up. If you disconnect the actuator arm your error code will disappear and car will stop going into limp-mode (not that yours is) but a proper fx is to remove the exhaust manifold c/w turbo and separate them to clean properly

  • @mrmadness69

The bolt doesn’t have to keep in. You can take it out once tight in. When van vibration bolt come off anyway.

I’ve tried using those apps for tensioning cambelts on my Ducati and got very irregular readings so I use the old school method using an Allen key as a feeler gauge. I’ve probably done a dozen belt changes over 20 years and never had any issues so guess it works! NB, I usually err on the side of slightly slack, especially on an air cooled motor, as it’s extremely rare for a belt to jump a tooth - it would need to be hanging for that to happen! 🤩

Hi there, I didn't quite get it at the end. Was the fuel pump timed or not?

    • @DanTheMan-chanic
      @DanTheMan-chanic Год назад

No fuel pump isn't timed. The timing comes from the injectors. The pump just keeps constant high pressure through the (common rail) fuel line
