    so my 2001 FZ! has been sitting for 14 yrs because of a construction accident I had.well I just retired and all my surgeries are done (many years of pain) I got the bike running, have put 3,200 miles on it. It has a gurgle the. I start out. I called Ivan in new york. It has his jet kit. He told me that my primary are plugged, have to be sitting that long. I ordered and recieved all new mounting rubbers for carbs, hem carb rebuild kits. Nobody in Washington state will work on it. So with RUclips I will attempt. Thanks for your comments. It's always a good idea to take photos at each step to have a visual reminder of how it all goes together. Take your time, take a break when frustration gets too much, and you will get through it. The first carb pull and rebuild on a multi cylinder bike is the worst. The second time round it will take half the time. Keep going and let me know in the comments how you did. Cheers!

      Watch the videos I've posted on the subject, and make sure to use some lubricant to help with getting the carbs out and back into the rubber boots they sit in. Follow each step I've detailed, take your time, and remember the first time is the worst. Once you have done the job, it takes half the time and frustration. Think of it this way. Would fuel companies risk a massive class action lawsuit if it did? Many people have fuel leaks from carb gaskets because they are old and rather than blame themselves for not maintaining their carbs they blame the fuel. Rubber Gaskets don't last forever and really aren't very difficult to replace. Cheers

    • @rickscarandbike4834
      @rickscarandbike4834 2 года назад

      Hi friend. How did you determine that 2 cylinders are not firing? Evidence? If your correct, a faulty coil would affect 2 cylinders at a time. See which coil fires the 2 cylinders and you may have the issue solved. With that low mileage the bike obviously sat along time. Coils usually last a long long time, so if you havent changed the plugs, do that, and I would lean towards plugged carburetor jets as your issue as the bike has almost no miles.

      Yes, remember it needs spark, air, and fuel. How did you determine only cylinder 3 doesn't work? You have the plug, the spark plug lead, which are the most likely failures. Next could be a coil, however, coils fire 2 plugs, therefore unless 2 cylinders are not firing correctly it is likely not faulty. Cheers

    Does the soak clean the jets or do u have 2 take them out 2 clean them individually? If so wht do u clean them with?

      I use a very fine wire from a wire brush. All the cleaners in the world will not clear blocked jets. Hope you got it done. Thanks for the comment. Please like and subscribe.

    What app or how do you edit your videos? I'm new to go pro and want to start editing my videos and organizing them for a new channel.

      There are a lot of good ones, many are free. I just use google to find them. I'm using Inshot.

    Question about the tank bag does it ever get in the way or make you feel claustrophobic on the bike?

    • @rickscarandbike4834
      @rickscarandbike4834 3 года назад

      I never ride without a tank bag. Its great for items needed on day rides or tours. Water, snacks, maps, cell chargers or battery packs, cameras, etc. You should always make sure you have clearance so the bag doesn't interfere with the handlebars. Thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing. Cheers.
