Cheer~~a conical pulley or wheel, especially in a watch or clock.😊
Is not a loop cause of the shadowas
I don't suppose you were able to complete this project singlehandedly, but it must have cost a bomb in parts alone, the cost of labour aside. The final product is unreal, a supreme classic, which however will cost another bomb to run and maintain.
A belated well done. An incredible acheivement.
I found you. Brilliant stuff 👍🏼
Thank you 🙂
Where on earth did you find the time to do all that work, especially with a young family?! Absolutely incredible level of dedication……….
Nice Merc. Nice XJ.
How much was the Mercedes?
Bad luck re-the box. I’ve had mine overhauled by “reputedly” the principal people who do the work so I hope it has come back in OK condition. Luckily, they are only a mile or so from where I’m writing this, they have told me that it true that there very few spares available for the 265 and no new gears at all. I have yet to fit mine, so I hope that here won’t be to many problems when I do later in the year.
Going to manual swap the Merc next then...? 😉
If it were possible I would 🙂
That name badge: "CL". So close to the sound of the word "cielo" (heaven). I'm sorry things aren't exactly heavenly as they could be. Summer driving is such a rare, precious gift. Hoping you can get out there under the heavens and enjoy it soon. I can think of few things as celestial as a Jaguar V-12 hooked up to a manual gearbox. Like yours, our breaths are bated! Aloha to all of you out there.
That IS sad, mate. Hope you get the gearbox back soon. It’s reputedly, not reputably. I’ve always loved the CL too. Although not sure I’m brave enough to actually run one. 😅
The Getrag 265 gearbox is very difficult to get spare parts for…reputedly 🙂
@@Tipo107 😁👍🏻 Enjoy the CL while you’re waiting. I’ll take it off ya hands when the Getrag comes back 😁👍🏻
作ることができなくて、途中で放棄して、別の車体と交換したに違いない。
Sounds similar Urgos Grandfather clock
Magnificent. Well done. Lusted aftr these in 1966!
It actually sounds like Big Ben
I would just have said; 'RUN!' 'There is no way to safe this hopeless rustbucket.' But some people even see potential in a disaster. Wonder if his wife is still with him. After sacreficing every free hour, and probably every last penny. in this project for three years in a row.
Yes, she’s still here, as are my three children 😅
Good to read this. @@Tipo107
Loose the music it's awful
You could install a pre HE engine for far more HP@
Fantastic car and a fantastic restauration. Thank you for sharing.
Oh damn!
The restoration of this car won't be cheap. Parts are hard to get, and very expensive, they're rare. Especially the engine ....holy moly...but you had luck with it. Seemed to be a last minute rescue....
Cars have to one of the GREATEST INVENTIONS !!! it Made Life so COMFORTABLE!!!
BMW just got that clean power feel pretty quickly and left us all stunned at the time...good handling and always nice engines..the 3 series were affordable and revolutionary. Never was in a 7 series and i can only imagine what it felt like at the time.
Great to see someone interested in these XJS cars...they were so beautiful and classy in their day and a great and unusual shape. What a load of engine and purrs like a cat. Makes my tr6 2.5 litre engine look like a toy...i cannot imagine the work in rebuilding one of those compared to mine which was pretty easy.
It seems funny, cute and all, but please don’t do that again.. The sand around you could collapse any given moment, and not even multiple dogs would be able to dig you out in time! A seven year old actually lost his life doing this! 😔
Dangerous! People end up trapped when these holes cave in.
wow
in which city have you found this beauty?
England 🏴
no more info? 😂@@Tipo107
You’ve missed your vocation! This is an epic restoration❤️
What suspension spring is on this clock and what size weights and pendulum. I just purchased this clock and it’s missing f those items. Thank you in advance.

Really excellent job, and gorgeous car
Fascinating. Shame we didn’t see the resoldering. I bet that was a job!
😂😂😂
Amazing resto 👍
I did a rotten Daimler Sovereign, and it was bad. I think you've out-done me. I know you have. Brings back bad memories, actually.
Nicely done. I'd heard of them, but never sighted an example. You're a glutton for punishment, but it's paying off. Congrats.
Thank you for saving this rare car with an absolutely incredible restoration. I own a Lagonda Rapide and fully appreciate the difficulty in locating parts and want to restore the front suspension as you have done but lack the contacts for the parts, any help on who you sourced parts for this restoration would be appreciated.
Thanks for your kind comment 🙂. Many of the mechanical parts were sourced from other manufacturers - door handles from Rover P5, front suspension from Jaguar etc. I bought other parts, specific to the Lagonda, from Aston Service Dorset.
ONLY tackle this project IF you have a HUGE reserve of money to throw at it and keep throwing at it!!!!
Don’t think that’s a wine it’s Normal
Yes, I did wonder if that might be the case. I had the same box in my 1980 BMW 735, it may have whined, but it was a much noisier car. The V12 is very quiet. Maybe I should delete the centre boxes!
Absolutely fabulous - Thank you
such a great car
Absolutely fantastic result. My old 5.3C was nowhere near this condition before restoration but £75k later!!!.....
Did you recap yours? How did you remove the old caps without damaging the tracks?
Hi, yes I did. It’s quite fiddly and you have to be very careful. I bought a soldering station with a two prong soldering iron. You can do it with a normal soldering iron if the board is in good condition. If the old caps have saturated the board with acid then the tracks will lift easily. I buy any of these that I see on eBay, I probably have a 50% success rate with them.
Just seen the restoration film - great work (quite a while ago!). So sailed above auction est. Nice to see again at revival '22. (From your title, perhaps you have the similar Italian too?)
bro i LOVE that whining
