I've done something similar to you guys, now im back in the U.S. grinding a 9-8 11 hour job and I truly miss the Monk's life. Now I'm working towards returning to that same lifestyle I had back then. When I went through a 40 day retreat like that, it was rough, and to be honest, I sort of missed home. Now that I'm home and back to the rat race, I finally realized the treasure that the Monk's life truly is. I was also traveling everywhere thinking I'd find something in my travels, but at the end of the day, its that life you show in your video that is the greatest hidden gem of them all.

Oh man that is rough! We just shot there a few months ago and I looked in advance about the drone as I suspected it wouldn't be allowed without a permit which is pretty standard for places like this. And a friend in Siem Reap warned me they don't allow 360 cameras, which I don't have. But I was surprised to be stopped about my DJI Osmo 3, which they called a 180 camera which isn't really accurate but I was just shocked they were so up to date on camera. They do have a sign about this, but I didn't see it walking in at sunrise because well it was dark. The security at Ta Promh was nice about it and said I could use a DSLR, which I thought was funny because it's actually more professional than the Osmo. But I just exchanged the Osmo for my Sony and continued.

This looks and feels like so many hostels/event spaces/cultural centers all over South America. Specifically Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia Nice to see that some of this alternative ways of living made it to Europe. I thought that self-building in this style was somehow illegal
