Hi there! I’m Christine and I am a Sound Technician. I worked on board Brilliance of the Seas. I’m making videos to inform people about crew life on cruise ships as well as what my role is as a Sound Technician at Sea.
FULL SHIP TOUR: BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS
Welcome aboard the Brilliance of the Seas! Join me on an exclusive all-access tour of this Royal Caribbean cruise ship. From the guest areas to the behind-the-scenes crew quarters.
As the ship sailed without guests, I took the opportunity to capture footage of both crew and guest areas, giving you a unique glimpse into life on board.

What was your mountly salary ?
I hope u can help me to be hired there
I'm Currently working as sound technician (or event assistant as they name it) on a university and heard the rumor that job on cruises is the same as we do and yeah, I can confirm it is the same And it's pretty exciting to know that, I really hope I can get a job on a cruise this year
Thanks for this video!
Hi are you still in BOTS? Do you need stage staff there. I'm willing to apply,.
Thank you. Currrently applying as sound and light tech. In God's Will,I will get the job.
Next Year, me too. ❤
Are you have a bachelor to apply sound technician or not? Im gonna apply to Hope you reply
im interested on this video its very useful to me for beginner whats to be a stagehane or technical staff
where do you apply to get a job like this? is there an agency?
hi this tharun from india my question is where you learned about sound engineering and how you got this job?
Hi, what light console you're company have
Whoa are you still working in royal caribbean?
It was a good one last year. I worked as crew last year.
Are you contracted with the ship or with the entire company. Meaning can they just move you to a different ship for whatever reason? Is it possible to hope from ship to ship and just live on the cruise for presumably indefinitely?
The sound is terrible in your room.
Did you get your own cabbin because you where head of lx and sound? Or does sound, lx get there own cabins.
I got my own cabin because i was the head. LX and sound have to share but they are normally entitled to a shared cabin with a window. Depending on the fleet
@@christinecaldbeck cool thank you. I done a couple of contracts for carnival and since worked back on land and can't decide if I want to go back to ships. do you happen to remember what lighting console they had on your ship?
Incredible video Christhine, thanks, one question please: what do you think about all of types of discrimination, scolding and humiliation and mistreatment that some workers receive from bosses or people in authority, that exists within cruise ships?
Hay hay I have been shortlisted for production technician kindly help me to get prepared for the interview
Hello Christine! Do you also run paper techs? If so, how often do you guys do it? 😊
Hi Christine! How many are you (sound techs) on the ship? Do you also work for other venues or are there other sound techs working on other venues on the ship? I enjoy your videos and I find them insightful! 😊
Thank you for your contents! Your videos make me miss working in the theatre! 🥰
How did you get started?
Come back Christine, I love this channel. ❤️
What's your salary?
How old are you ? How you step in agency or direct hire?
I filmed this on a Royal Carribbean ship. I was 23 when I was hired through an agency.
@@christinecaldbeck so young ?! You could be my child age
@@christinecaldbeck so young ?! You could be my child age
You film this on costa or msc or bahamas paradise ?
Greetings from an ex sound techincian from MSC! I might be embarking to Royal! I have an interview soon. Greetings from Argentina.
Best of luck!
did you have experience?
loved this! joining the Brilliance as a sound tech in a couple of months, I hope you guys left all the cables wrapped nice and tidy
I hope so too! Best of luck with your time on board! Hope the Brilly treats you well
Hey chris what consoles do royal used aside from digico and Ls9 will be joining mariner of the seas thanks buddy.
So the SD8 was by far the best sound desk on the ship and we only have the on of them. All other venues use Yamaha LS9... Do with that what you will...
Dream Job! Thanks for sharing!
Lol ! If you know you will end up hating your life !
hey i have tried to reach u on insta . for some help.
Im interesting job technician sound ...can u show the link .
I'm thinking about appyling for Royal Caribbean I want to be able to do Lighting/ help out with the Aqua shows they do on the Oasis class ships
You would be looking at light tech, Lounge tech or stage technician jobs. Unfortunately as a new hire you rarely get a say in what ship you get put on. It all depends on the individual.
What theatre is this at?
Hi
adrian is a legend, one of the most chilled out person ive met, he was my pm on liberty! miss him!
We are a BIG fan of Adrian on this Channel, lovely helpful guy!
Im from Brasil and ill try a position with anything related to audio technics
Depois fala como foi a experiencia! DEUS TE ABENÇOE 🎉🎉🎉
Informative and worth the watch...so, thank you for that! I am interviewing for an Audio Technician spot on NCL (which would be my first contract, in fact, the only other ship I have been on was a large gambling cruise ;-) ). Regardless for my lack of "sea legs", my resume got me noticed. I do have some concerns which, before I agree to terms, would likely address, however for now, I will continue with my "shipboard research". TY again, Christine! Enjoy your day!
Hi Cristine, I'm a sound technician in Brazil and I'd like to work there, which companies can I look for in this area?
Royal Caribbean, MSC, Carnival, Disney, Celebrity Cruises, P&O, AIDA, NCL to name but a few
When will you be streaming live again ?
Lol, onboard brilliance right now.
Hey Christine! Just applied for Sound Technician and Sound Operator for Royal! I’ve gone to school and done work in the audio field, but more in a studio setting. I’m really looking forward to doing this, but there’s just a few minor things I haven’t had a whole lot of hands on work with. Is there like training that comes with boarding? If I even get an offer anyways. Thanks!
I want to work with you could it possible
My ship days are over for now unfortunately :(
@@christinecaldbeck why, what happened? got tired of it?
Bout to get pulled up on by the van der lin gang
Whsts the best advice for someone new to digico consoles and want to learn them
I honestly do not know what the best advice is. I had to learn through using it. It had very little time to get up to speed to I kept a manual near by and I just tried building scenes. There is still a world of knowlege I could learn about that desk. But other then manuals and videos, your best bet it to just use it
Your cool I subbed
Nice 😂
Love the content, hoping to tune in live next time! You mention that you were *the* sound tech, how does this work if you're ill? Whether that's cold/flu or worse, or just a migraine? Just got to work through it, or is there always a backup? For such a small team, you folks get so much done it's impressive!
Ayyy nice same I’m also a DJ
hlo madam i want to work on board ship as a sound technician so i want to join you to know about my field of work. could you help me?
