2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Front Diff Gear Swap
This is the last part of the gear swap I did for the 2011 Dodge RAM 3500. As with the part 1 and 2 of the rear gear swap of this vehicle, the front gear also needed to be changed over to match the change we made to the rear gearing setup.

These upper control arms allow us the adjustment to bring the alignment in to spec. We decided to go the route of cutting the bolts instead, of ...

Often these differentials can be challenging to disassemble due to the fact that most of the components are damaged or distorted. Chec...

I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR Automatic. If there's a vibration on accelerating from a stop in 1st gear and it goes away before shifting into 2nd gear, what might be the cause of this? I've researched this thoroughly and the only common issues are vibration at particular highway speeds but I haven't found anything with my particular problem. Please help!

I started having the same issue with mine, I didn’t even wait long! I had it diagnosed and it was the crankshaft position sensor! So I ordered mine straight from the Mopar website and 5 minutes under the jeep and bingo! It’s running like new again.👌😎👍

How much was the cost to repair the parts? Also would it have been better just to install all new parts?. I would also like to mention if you can maybe next time go into more detail. I plan on doing the job myself with a friend and we don't have all the machinery you have. So that's why I'm asking about just installing a whole new assembly as to make it more easier. Thank you. Most videos for the chev truetrac install have detailed boring bs about what their dog had for lunch, and long winded ring gear install (the easy part), then they skip the hard part with video editing or claiming a camera malfunction.

I've never done this before, watching and learning. Many blogs of bla bla. From what I've seen, its safe to say that was a perfect pattern. Wants to do a posi on my 10bolt 323 because its starting to sound off. Its time and I want a 342 posi. Heard the differential needs to be for a 342 for it to work. Not looking for a race rear end because its a 4.8L 07 Silverado Classic 1500 Thing Im curious about is putting the shim between the race and carrier rather than pinion and bearing. I understand thats a bigger diameter. Id rather do it that way because of no press. Should I trust honing out another bearing to find pinion depth? Would it be the same .035 for a 323 and 342? I just want to be knowledged up before starting. Subscribed!

Here's the thing with these rear end's. Eaton made them specifically for gm and they are rated by eaton for gm and gm builds a vehicle around that rating and it will last for years but like all moving parts they will wear and adding stress to moving parts to which they are not rated will cause damge. That being said eaton also created such things to handle that stress in 14 bolt 9 and a half and 14 bolt 11 inch specifically for this purpouse. Now flooring a thirty year old rear differential with 300,000 miles on it and the oil has never been changed doesnt make it a horrible thing or putting giant wheels and tires on a high speed diff and trying to take off like a race car doesnt make it a bad thing. Now using as the manufacture built around it is one of the most awsome things ever created for a vehicle especially a 4 wheel drive. Yes i have broke them but i was way out of specs and mostly due to my own ignorance. That being said i have broke one of the drive gears in one and if not for the locking thing i would not have made it home as it would catch and turn the other wheel until it released at 20 something mph and start free spining so i let off the gas and slow down and get back in it and it would lock again and away i went yes it took a while at this pace but i wasnt stranded and made it home. I now have a 14 bolt corporate locker in place that can take a beating and changed 3.42's to 4.10's with my 4 inch lifted suburban 4x4 and big wheels and tires you know the proper way and it is literally a monster. Easy turning nice and smooth no binding from stress. That thing will pull a house apart as before i would pull the truck apart.

Anytime you lift a vehicle more than 2” , you must do a diff drop. 2” is the rule of thumb I would say.

Holy Cheetos not looking forward to doing this at the junkyard today .. I have a lot of play when I spin the rear wheels on my 2000 1500. The clicking sounds like there coming from the driveshaft . I’m doing uJoints fersure but my dad wants to remove the spider gears and switch them out again(we did this two years ago) he said the truck feels like it binds when it wants to shift gears. He doesn’t think it’s the u joints because there’s no slack in them. I just don’t want it to be that part you removed in the last two minutes of this video ha ha haa..

So I'v been doing this diff work for more than 30+ years ,thought i would ck on any thing that i might learn if I had a desire to show my grand kids the trade at the tender age of 6 because he loves the sound of power tools and likes to pretend hes a mechanic like his grand pa ,so I previewed this video to give it my aproval for him to watch it ,I come up with a 2 star rating ,1 for the attemp; 2 star just to be polite ,my advise as an seasoned diff rebuilder ,open your mouth and teach with out the diarea mouth add more lighting ,explane what steps you are doing to acomplish the task injury free .and dont use a sledge hamer unless you know the concquences for using it with out a wood block to hit and emphasize safty googles ,this is dangerous work to begain with the diff can pop out in an intsant chopping a toe off completly and or a finger cut or loss. And tell your buddy to stay away .this is a one man job you need all your faculties firing on all 8 cylinders .stamp your caps before removing them do plemenary cks first .have good lighting ,postion your self to the work for leverage ,Some diff are 3 tomes heavyer and harder and more dangerous to work with .be alert and turn the dam music off ! You came to work to feed your family and pay your bills give your boss a good days work ! And youll go home in one peace.
