Famous opera singer, Maria Malibran (1808-1836), was one of bel canto's greatest singers. But she also left behind many wonderful songs she composed. Here I am sharing one of those songs, "Il Silfo", accompanied by Craig Ketter. Il Silfo means The Sylph, which is a spirit of the wind. And in the song, the wind is knocking on the castle doors asking the lady of the house to let him in. Apri! Open!
