look pretty good
horrendous throw, though
@@catandfishfc Haha yeah i totally agree!
Nice 😊
Very clever 😉
Thank you! They were fun to make and work beautifully
not bad looking setup... cheers sir
Thank you good sir!
Has anyone had to disable the VRD safety feature?
Not to my knowledge. i wasn't aware of the issue
It’s a safety feature that lowers the standing voltage while the machine is idle. You don’t get the same electric shock as the device has halved the voltage at the stinger. But the start up or striking the arc is a nightmare,so I’m getting it disabled.
@@David-cj4oc Ah yes i have encountered that! I found that removing some flux of the rod before restriking by scraping on a concrete surface helps greatly.
I just installed a VFD on one of these today!!!
They are a great and solid drill press. Really well made in my opinion.
@@AndysDIY seems like it
this looks cool
Have same air brush kit but not compressor the gun is new but won’t spray paint help
Assuming you have air flow through the gun then i'd be looking at how thin the paint is that you are trying to spray. Please feel free to subscribe as i grow my channel :)
G'day Andy, mate I just got a second hand one of these and the little gas tubing is broken. If you open the other side it doesn't have a solenoid or anything.... Is it a straight tube from the back of the machine into the handpiece with no solenoid? Is that how it's supposed to be? I guess I can just swing past Bunnings and buy some tubing and a 1 or 2mm joiner hey?
I think you are correct. It's fairly basic as far as the Gas shielding side of things go and is designed to use the small disposable gas canisters that are available which are really not very good value for money in my opinion. I've always used mine for mobile flux core welding and have found the machine to be rock solid even in hotter temperatures. The duty cycle is great for what i do with mine.
you wouldn't like to rebuild mine would you I rebuilt it now all it does is backfire even with new fuel
It sounds like you might have an ignition/Timing problem. I'd be checking the plug leads etc and make sure they are on the right plugs.
I inherited the same lathe the only thing I don’t have is the change gear set, same year as well with original guards. I enjoy using it.
Interesting. I brewed & kegged beer years ago with a basic setup. Nothing fancy, I just wanted to make my own at home. I eventually gave my setup to my son only for his (then) wife to sell it all on while he was at work! I have never heard of pressure fermenting though as I said, I was just making basic beer using Coopers Draft with three 22lt kegs on the go.
Ah i'm sorry to hear about the situation with your son's ex wife. No doubt that is a big part of the reason she is now the EX and hopefully he has moved on to happier pastures! Pressure fermenting is essentially the same as any other brewing technique but with a bit more control over off flavours and keeping exposure to oxygen at bay. Thanks for your comment and please feel free to subscribe to the channel.
you should make a viedo of you making a viedo of you packing it full logs for hot long fire
Good suggestion and i will do that when this hot Australian summer moves away! 36 degrees celsius here at the moment and total fire bans across most of eastern Australia
Gracias por compartir
you are welcome! Thanks for watching😀
Nicely done Andy. As you have proved, a lathe is a very handy tool 🙂
Thanks mate! Yep you don't need a lathe everyday but when you need one they are wonderful to have! Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing! 😃

Remove the legs, to lower the stove & pull it OUT of the alcove. You will get MORE heat, & better access for the stove pipe with a damper in it.
This is awesome!! Ship one to CA!😂
It works well mate! I hope to encourage you to make your own version and let me know how you like it. It's one of those tools that you don't need all the time but when you need one it just works! Thanks for your comment man!
Do you still have this boat and motor? I have some questions if you wouldn't mind!
yes i still have both. They haven't been used in some time but i can try to answer any questions you have.
Did you have tilt/trim on this? If not where did you run your motor at? All the way down?
@@prestonwhitaker9669 Yep it has the tilt/trim motor but i have only used it for getting the motor up and out of the water for launching and retrieving onto the trailer. It is always fully down in my case when the boat is running as the tilt motor doesn't have the ability to adjust boat trim while underway. I hope this helps and thanks for your question :)
My tilt and trim can lift and lower the motor but it does hold any suggestions. I have the same motor
Doesn’t
Why not start off with big wide solid ring and drill and tap three holes through it at 120 apart for the legs. Would have been a lot quicker and easier and a lot stronger.
Ideally yes i agree. In this instance i just used what i had available to me at the time and wanted to see if it was possible to create something DIY that is otherwise a very rare find here for the Hercus in Australia. I appreciate your comment though.
Very flimsy looking.
Yeah, this particular video is more of a proof of concept. It doesn't have the inner reinforcement pieces fitted or any finish welding so once that is completed it will be as solid as a rock for the little Hercus. Thanks for watching!
Mate, you sound like Paul Hogan. Nice bender btw.
Thanks mate! I guess i can take that as a compliment....;) The bender works well!!
Great stuff- will definitely be putting one of these together
Thanks mate! I hope the video has helped you with putting together your own.
Nice setup mate!👍
Cheers mate! There is a lot more setup that i want to do in order to make it more functional but it's not a bad start so far i reckon. Thanks for watching mate! :)
Nice - love to see the keg cleaner
Thanks for watching! I'll be kegging the fermzilla this week so i will put together a video of the fermenter/keg cleaner in action then :)
Nice video, love the VB in the back haha
Thanks mate! I'm into the homebrew now so keeping with the DIY aspect of the channel. I might do a couple of vids on that if there is any interest. Thanks for your comment!

Cheers mate, looking to break into the airbrushing scene to paint my warhammer 40k models. I think this puppy will make a good first time entry into airbrushing to get me started. I have heard the airbrush isn't necessarily like top of the line but to be fair for the price I think its ample to at least dip the toes in. I have also heard the compressor is quite good and you said that too in your video, so future upgrades should be just an airbrush upgrade hopefully and the compressor can do me some good work for a while. Thanks again mate
Thinking of getting this as well for my Gundam and Zoids.
Good works sir.

I like both. They make really high quality loco's in their own right. How about you?

Hi my name is Phyllis I have just brought one watt pressure do I need to be on
Hi, it all depends on the type of paint and the viscosity of it etc. best to mix up a small pot and test spray on some cardboard until you get the desired effect. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment!
I just got a Model C from 1944 based on serial number. Have to build a table for it now.
Looks good
Great review mate. Will pick one of these up tomorrow. Just wanted to ask could you buy another attachment which you could use to blow air to clear debris from a small pipe? Would it have enough pressure? The pipe is about 10- 15mm. Thanks
Thanks mate, I'm glad you found it helpful! It puts out 4 bar pressure maximum so you could build up a bit of pressure and adapt a hose to suit however it's only a small volume of air produced so that might hold you back from clearing pipes etc but it's worth a shot.
Brilliant, thanks mate.
Looks like you are off to a start looks pretty good like the track layout am thinking about running a few at the same time on mine but yeah will be a bit behind you aye but its looking good.
This setup was the one i found to be the best so far however i have packed it up for the time being as i need to make room for a dedicated space. I'll be sure to update though!
Looks pretty good Andy good to get started with a out side track running ,am moving and my new railroad will be N scale purchased 3 pkts of track and some points so hope in the new year U will be under way its great to roam these videos get plenty of good ideas aye ,will keep a eye in on you and see how it goes Cheers Glen.
Thanks mate! This was the very beginning of the layout but it's changed several times since.
Coal burning I have one called a sun potbelly stove…
bot bellys are great heaters
You get that cold in Australia 🇦🇺
believe it or not, in the middle of winter it does!
I like this, i shall try to make one
I'm glad you like it! It's a good lathe project and a very useful tool to have in the workshop
You sound extremely repressed. No, not depressed, repressed. Like your mother has a tight grip on your balls. And she is deceased, coming on 30 years deceased
How does one go about tightening up the backlash?
I've found adjusting the gibs helps and physically moving the cross slide back hard against the thread before making a cut makes a difference. I hope this helps!
Tool geometry too. Too much rake and your tool could (will) get pulled into the work.@@AndysDIY
Shimming helps
What size wood does it need. My guess is the wood would need to be quite small?
Hi Linda, it is a little bit limited with the size of the wood you can burn in the heater. I've found that wood around the 240mm length is perfect.
Please subscribe and leave a like! :)
now that you've spent more time with this do you still recommend it?
Hi, yeah i still recommend this kit but i would upgrade the airbrush itself to a better quality model. The compressor and hoses are great. Hope this helps!
Yeah the Vics
HAHA! yeah man. They have been replaced with coopers pale now though
@@AndysDIY ohh no, I just bought that airbrush I have a VIC and B12 vitamins haha best review ever!
@@doodlenoi well spotted! although the b12 is actually holding tacks lol
That was a good demonstration of how to load a mig machine, I used to work for an Ebay seller that sold the cheap Chinese welders, I became the fixer of issues lol. I do it exactly like you do it is foolproof, the biggest problem I found was bird nesting after the drive and not feeding into the output tube, and the reason that happined is the output tube was to far away from the drive, so I needed to move the drive closer to the output tube. oh one thing I need to mention is never let go of the wire when you feed the machine, it will unspool and most likly get over wrapped then you are in the shit. lol
Thank you. Yeah it's pretty foolproof if you take your time and think about each step as you go. It's pretty easy to end up with a hell of a mess before you have even gotten the wire into the feeder lol. I imagine that dealing with some of the cheaper Chinese machines would be frustrating at times!!
I had to give a thumbs up because you had none, I just bought a Unimig 140 but has not arived yet . But good on you for sticking your neck out there doing a review. Keep posting Andy
Thanks mate! much appreciated. My 140 is still going strong. Thanks for the encouragement, it's appreciated
hi well my is plug in I'm just sitting here looking at it what is the methylated spirits for is it to thin the paints can I use flo there is not much info about this machine
I put a tiny splash of methylated spirits in a small bottle of distilled water and use that to dilute my acrylic paint with. It's a bit of trial and error to get the mixture right and depends on what paint you are using etc.
