Invest In Bricks
Великобритания
Добавлен 16 май 2012
Hi! My name is Geoff. I've been investing in Lego for a couple of years now. With a portfolio of over £14K and climbing every week.
It's all about the data for me the numbers are why I invest in the particular set. My channel plan is to look at the data of retiring sets to decide if the set is right to invest in or to leave it alone.
I'm planning on doing the research for the investing community so that I'm a one stop shop for the data on the sets to buy.
Comparing sites like Brickeconomy,BrickSet & Bricklink.
As everyone else says I'm not a financial advisor my channel is just there to help you do your own research and pick that winning set for that time in the future when you sell.
Please subscribe to my channel and spread the word to the community. Thank You.
Good luck make some money!!

LEGO 2022 BrickHeadz Retirement Recap | Invest In Bricks
You will have to pardon the ignorance, as I have only just started looking at Lego as an investment and have seen a few of your videos. What makes these obvious buys? For example, why’s the Tusken raider obvious? 🤔 Also, do you focus on buying small sets like brick headz and buying up like 100 sets that are small £5-£10 sets or less sets with potential bigger profit
@@beattieboi91 hi thanks for watching. I tend to stay away from obvious buys. If you look back to my videos and watch don't follow the crowd it will explain better. I still haven't bought 1 BrickHeadz I've had them in my hand but changed mind at the last moment and didn't buy. With BrickHeadz if you don't have much money or space then you can start there but you'll have to sell high numbers to be able to make a reasonable profit, don't get me wrong loads do it just not me. We all have our own strategy and have to weigh up everything ourselves. You could buy 100 of a BrickHead that does amazing from £10 to £70 but it's not likely more buy for £10 and sell for £20 after fees etc. I only buy sets that MSRP is below £100 but get as cheap as possible then hopefully it will go to £130-£150 and make £70-£90 per sale instead if you're lucky if it only goes back to MSRP then maybe £40-£50 but in cases like that I'd just hold for longer. Hope that helps. Thanks again.
Need to up your audio, at max and i can hardly hear you
Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I try my best.
Keep up the good work, really interesting
Skyline gtr strong buy
Hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes it should do well but speed champions tend to more or less double your money including fees so unless you have hundreds then you'll not get rich. Thanks again. Take care.

Thanks for the insights! By the way: I have the SafePal Browser Extension Wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (job priority warm lab border boil monkey manage palace fiber weird ask). What's the best way to move them to Binance?
Hi. Thanks for watching. I don't know much about bitcoin so you're asking the wrong person I'm afraid. I've got some PI network if anything ever happens with that but that's as close to bitcoin as I get. Good luck with it.
Are they already retiring 😅 Wasent they relesed a year ago?
Hi. This video is for what is retiring in 2025 next year not this year. Some sets retire very early like BrickHeadz can retire in months Eg legolas gimli. Or some sets they plan only have a short shelf life. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@InvestInBricksJust one qestion. I am kind of young and have a preaty big Lego collection. Do you think that i chould invest in more sets, especially Lego starwars to it going to have more value in the future or chould i stop spending money on Lego and sell it meanwhile it has its value? What fo you think 🤔?
@ValentinoWerner-12 Hi. Thanks for watching. Everyone has a different strategy. Some people buy big sets and store them away so they increase for instance AT AT £750 but in years to come will be £1500 but if after 3 years Lego relaunches the exact set the value of your set will drop drastically back down to maybe £900. So you lost most of your investment. The majority of investors buy sets then after 18/24 months sell creaming of the profits from the increase in that time. So £750 goes to maybe £1000. The trick to investing is trying to find the set that will increase quickly and high then sell then buy another set that is about to retire. Then just repeat and repeat. My aim is when I retire to have turned mine over enough times that I have a nice pot of money around £250k so I can have a nice retirement. If you start young enough then you could retire early depending on your age in the UK probably won't be a pension left for people by then. Good luck. @@ValentinoWerner-12
Please do starwars next time 😊
@@ValentinoWerner-12 thanks for watching. Which star wars do you mean. Retiring 2024 or 2025 I've already done both. You need to look back at my videos. Titles should say star wars Retiring 2024 or 2025 probably part 1 or part 2 usually can't fit into only one video. Hope that helps.
@ ok😁

@@BrickowskiJack-Bricks thanks very much it takes a lot of work and researching for every video.
Great video! Now i know what legoset i chould invest in 😊
Thanks for watching. That's the point of the video to help the LEGO investment community. Thanks
I get these are investments but it feels so sad to see all these boxes unopened and unbuilt qwq
@@bunnyqueen20XX thanks for watching and commenting. You will feel even sadder to know I never open any of my collection because I understand the community but I myself don't build Lego. I only invest in it. Doesn't bother me at all that I don't get to open any boxes. I have no sentiment in what I buy or invest in, so I don't buy sets for the wrong reason like a set I like but no one else does. Thanks again
i don't think that investing in lego sets is a good idea mate, just buy gold if you want to make profit
Thanks for watching and commenting but gold/silver shares wine or art. Doesn't make anywhere near as much as I make doing this. I keep getting comments saying invest in shares etc but no other way of investing comes close to how much Lego makes no matter how much you say you make. I watched a video of a guy who exchanged his coins collected over 12 or 14 years can't remember Eg. But he made peanuts compared to what I've done. Thanks for commenting though. Hope you make lots of money. Take care
From your experience do you think the Batcave Shadow Box will do well and any clue if Lego are likely to restock at any point in the future?
Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. If you look back at my video with Batman you will see I said it is a good investment IMHO but I haven't got any for investment not part of my stratagy. The batcave has sold on Ebay for £500 and has been on Amazon for up to £466. It was sold out on Lego last time I looked and don't expect it to come back in stock, even if it did you would have to be quick because it would only last a couple of hours before going out again. 2302 want that set and it has an expected grouth of 17% in the frist year. Those that bought it and took the risk will do very well. Hope this helps. Thanks again for watching.
Just noticed the mistake of my videographer Gandelf and Balrog not Frodo and Gollum. Sorry about that but we all know what they look like.
As you can see from the pictures, when i did the research for the video since then some of the sets have changed stock levels. When editing my wife ads the picture just before posting. So occasionally the picture doesn't match what I say. Thanks
I can't believe actual adults are doing this. Get a life. Invest in stocks. Leave toys for kids.
Hi. Thanks for commenting. I've made a video coming out soon just for people like you. I have actually got some stocks but they don't make anything near Lego. Do your research Watch my next video. Thanks for helping the algorithm.
Seems like a terrible investment. If you can't achieve 7%+ profit each year there is no reason to do this instead of just invest in the s&p500. There you actually invest in the economy that has to grow over time because of various factors that are easy to understand. What you invest instead is in plastic.
Hi. Thanks for watching. If you look into Lego. You will usually find Lego increases by an average of at least 11% more than the average shares. That is just how much they increase every year due to being retired. Most Lego investors sell the sets with a minimum of 70% ROI but in general investors don't sell unless you are doubling your investments. Eg buy set for £50 sell for £130/£140. I agree shares are easier just investing in s&p 500 and long term 10 years plus you will make money and you don't have to sell or do research but just sitting back isn't going to make much money either. I'd rather be in control and my knowledge helps me make the money. Hope that helps.
Can u please explain why exactly these sets could raise in value? Greetings from Germany
@@nero20077 hi! I don't quite understand what you're asking. No one knows EXACTLY how much you will profit from any set it all depends on. The demand for the set how popular the set is and how many there are out there. Take the world map for instance not many people expected it to do well after retirement it's just lots of 1's etc so not many people bought it. When it retired the value shot up because not many people had new sealed sets of it so the price went up. Just like the coliseum. You can't predict if you could then you could clean up. We don't know how many sets of each Lego makes so it's a gamble or if you watch my videos it's an educated gamble you have more information like knowing how many aces are left in the deck. You need to figure out how to buy the sets in the cheapest way possible so then when you sell if you're competing with someone who bought it cheaper than you then they make more profit than you. If you watch one of my early videos don't follow the crowd you will see that you shouldn't get the same sets as everyone else because the supply of that set will be high and demand possible lower. Only you can decide what strategy you want to use everyone is different depending on how much cash they have and how long they want to hold. Some investors buy sets and as soon as they are making money sell, they might only make £5-£10 per set but sell hundreds this making money. Others wait 2-3 years others 3-4 or 5-6 or even 10 years. No one else can tell you what is best for you. Like I've said before I don't buy sets unless I can buy at least 30% off usually lots better than that so when I sell I have a good margin for making some money even if the set only goes back to MSRP. I will try to talk about it in an upcoming video and try to make sense of it. I hope this helps I can't be more exact than that.
cool channel! i recently saw how expensive old sets get. do you have any video about your portfolio? And I am curious how did it do in terms of return on your investment?
When I do videos if I have a set I say if I have it and usually show it and say how many I have. As for ROI I've said in previous videos if I can't get less than 30% then I don't buy it. Usually it's better than that. Thanks again
@@InvestInBricks very interesting, i've only known of MTG investment before but it makes a lot of sense. I find the videos interesting where people show their current stock portfolio (or in this case Lego) and explain why they bought what and how it did so far. Either way I'll keep watching :)
@knoblauchhorst9405 thanks for watching. I don't know MTG investment. I sit in front of my Lego deliberately I've seen many videos of channels that say all kinds of things but you never see their Lego or even sometimes them. Some channels have thousands of subscribers yet you don't know if they own even one set how can you take what they say as true. Not saying they are not telling the truth but how do you know. For me I look at prices first if I can buy it cheap but there is value in the set eg figures, following or movie then I buy a few I diversification is the key for me 2-5 of a set 99% of sets will at least go back to MSRP so long as it's not a stinker then should do ok. If you do get a stinker then other sets will recoup what you lost and it won't be much or you could just sell figures and set separately or just wait another 12 months doesn't bother me. Thanks for commenting.
Great analysis...super insightful! Great content and channel, we just subbed! If you get the chance, we'd be honored if you swung by to check us out too. Either way, keep building and smiling!
Thanks for watching. I started my channel because when I started I'd of loved to go to one place and find out as much about a set from just one place instead of having to search. I first thought about building a website but realised the work involved would be huge so I though a channel was the closest I could get. I realise its just numbers etc and boring to watch but nothing I can do about that. The information could be helpful to someone it helps me when I compile this lists I remember prices etc when I'm shopping. Or if I see a deal I can snap it up without thinking too much. Thanks for commenting. Take care

Good work
Thanks very much it's taken over my life 2 hours every night before going to bed researching Lego. It helps me remember sets though. Just sometimes get years mixed up. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hey from the States! I just got the Globe and I’m very excited about it! Lots of good sets that are retiring and wish I could get them all
Thanks for watching. The Globe is a beautiful set but I'm afraid the cats out of the bag because of the World Map. You'll have a longer hold time unfortunately because so many people are getting into investing we're all going to have to extend our hold times. I don't mind too much I'm investing for my retirement so an extra 6/12 months won't make too much difference. Thanks again take care.
Très intéressant, et cela change des classiques évident.
merci beaucoup. j'apprécie les commentaires. cela demande beaucoup de travail. I hope Google translate got it right thank you.
got the tree house as a damaged box via ebay for an unbelievable price, when it was supposed to retire...then they decided not to retire it - so I built it!!!
Hi. The box is a big part of the value. Unless it's an amazing price I wouldn't buy them. We'll have to see how it does if people liquidated them before or kept some. I know some people sold all they had and didn't buy again because they left a bad taste. Hopefully they do well.
interesting content, unique perspective. thanks!
@@bricksbeersbeards9368 Thanks for watching and commenting. I try to give helpful information for the LEGO investment community. When I started I'd have liked to be able to go to one place and find all the information about every set I was looking at. Some channels like Shane's use data like what sets sell for but only on one platform. I try to give as much information as possible probably too much and it makes it boring for people but not a lot I can do about that. Thanks again
@@InvestInBricks I hear you. I'm not into investing...yet...what happened is I have some sets in back-log now for 2-3 years (pyramid, home alone, others) and it got me thinking...hmm...I wonder when they retire what will happen...Maybe as a hobby when I retire in a few years...
@@InvestInBricks I just subscribed!
@@InvestInBricks I don't invest...yet, what happened is that I now have a decent back-log of NIB sets (globe, pyramid, and a few more) and it go me thinking...what will thee be worth in the future...maybe when I retire in a few years I'll do it as a hobby.
@@bricksbeersbeards9368 Hi! Thanks for joining our little group. I have a brother in law who buys all the big sets £300+ but when he buys he gets 2 of each and keeps one in it's box from the shop still sealed never touches it one day it will be his retirement I guess. It's a great idea unless they bring out another and you know LEGO they like to bring them back again. Some sets you know 99% they won't re-make but you never know. I always have brickset/brickeconomy on my phone so all I have to do is put set numbers in and I know everthing about the set I can find out. So many people have got in to investing by just buying an extra one and selling it later to recoup some of the cost of the set they bought then it's 2 sets then 3 before they know it they buy 10 sets and build one and make a profit. Thanks for watching take care.
I will support you as much i can ;)
@@XtySi thanks very much.
@@InvestInBricksWhat do you thing about dragonborn paladin ?
We will see black friday sales hope for great deals
@@XtySi@XtySi Hi. I have a few of the mini figures and some are doing ok but they will never make you rich. I know some people buy hundreds and double or even triple their money but you have to buy so many. Usually the investment community decides which is going to be the most popular and that's it. With the space one I bought more of the space man and didn't buy the one with the space baby by the time I found out everyone was buying that one it was too late. It's the same here the community has decided that he is the most popular and now everywhere you go and scan you can't find him. I've got 2 I think but have tried lots of places but can't find him only the elf or witch left. You have to find out the best one as soon as you can then buy as many as you can if that's what you like. I have approx 20 mini figures so don't get into them too much. Some have doubled already apparently we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for commenting again.
@@XtySihi. Most of the sets discounted will be the very big ones £300+ etc my strategy is to only buy MSRP under £100.if I see some sets on a great deal then maybe but probably won't buy anything specifically because it's black Friday. I hope you get plenty of deals though. I hope all my subscribers and viewers do.
You should definitely dress better for your videos
Good video! Would of loved for you to go more in depth as to why you thought they were good investments! Perhaps split it into multiple parts so you have a bit more time to talk about each set
@@questcrewmini hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. How I've done these are if brickeconomy says it's a good investment then I've said as much. The one's I've personally said I think it should be a good investment it's purely because of the data. I did explain when I started to do this extra info things like good ratings from all 3 sites. Part out value, selling prices already before it retires how many people want it etc. I work on a combination of all of those things if all the data looks good then I say I think it should be a good investment. I don't like to actually say it because if someone bought sets and they didn't perform then I'd feel bad even though it's happened to me. I want people to look at those sets closer and do their own due diligence I got burned when I started. I wouldn't want people to watch my videos and just go out and buy the sets I said should do well. Hopefully that helps. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
Real nice you show the sets now you talk about
Yes from now on I will overlay the pictures. I was trying to make it easier for my editor ( My wife ) To edit. Thanks for watching and commenting.

12k with 431 sets. Yikes. Fees gonna eat you alive on those cheap sets man.
@@TehBananaBread thanks for commenting but depends on what you pay for your sets to cover costs.
Vielen Dank für deine tollen Videos. !
@@RZ-wq5ff Herzlich willkommen, danke fürs Zuschauen und Kommentieren. You're welcome and thanks for watching and commenting. I hope that's what Google translate said anyway. Lol
Just found this by RUclips prompt. I was contracted to LEGO for a few years in Billund and as a leaving present they gave me a few sets for free. Totally sealed Farnsworth House being one. I used some of the sites mentioned and fell of my chair at the prices
@@Simon-jj2pu thanks for subscribing and commenting. If you look back Farnsworth was valued at around £385 at one point. Lego staff get special sets I've seen them for sale on eBay. Will you sell now you know the value of them or keep for longer are you going to start investing in Lego. Thanks again take care
@@InvestInBricks Thanks I am not selling, it’s actually on a shelf like an art piece in the box. Most of time you would go to the staff shop and get a huge discount i never saw any staff only pieces. For fun, the LEGOLAND hotel has potato chips (English style) in the shape of LEGO bricks!, LEGO was going under and what saved it was Star Wars and a move to what they call evergreens etc, basically the split of bricks which could be used across various sets (from memory 60-70%) and then two grades of specialities , this allowed them to harmonise production runs
@@Simon-jj2pu Shame you didn't do an arm sweep at the huge discount you could be doing well now. I don't know what discount staff get but if I was staff I'd be an investor for sure. Some people get lucky with jobs. I think it was end of 2023 Sainsbury's were selling OB1 star fighter for £9.50 if I worked there none would have been on the shelves they would get 10/20% off that as well. Sometimes with Lego it's just being lucky. I've watched so many videos where they went into Walmart and they were renovating or something and they say they got $150 sets for $50 or something like that, you just need to be able to get large amounts of cash when the opportunity comes your way. I've only been investing for 18-24 months but now my mind has only room for numbers prices and dates. Thanks for your input and support of my little channel. Take care

Keep Going You Will Get More Subscribers
@@MartinOwen-on3io thank you for watching and supporting the channel. I'm just trying to help the Lego community. The more information about a set that you have the better decision you make when buying and the more money you make. I don't expect to get too many subs I realise it's pretty boring to watch me talk. I know the top 10 picks to invest in get more views. Thanks again. Take care.
I have some ideas for you but keep doing what your doing it be ok in the end
What sources do you use for data?
@@justnikscom hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. I usually mention on the video, you must of watched one where I didn't. I get the retirement list from brickfanatics. Then I use brickset, brick economy, bricklink , Lego camelcamelcamel Amazon and eBay. Hope that helps.
Would you buy 40657 as it’s the only lego exclusive one?
@@arnoldmason4628 hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. I always say you can make money on any Lego set so long as you buy it cheap enough. The set you're asking about has 3 unique figures valued at almost half the set price. I watch every video related to Lego I can find most say avoid Dreamz except the one with the pink tree but I have seen one or two people say they like this set. So in answer to your question if I found it with a good deal then yes I'd buy it. How many is the question that only you can answer. Thanks again.
@@InvestInBricks thank you for the detailed response!
Great idea but vid could do with time stamps and/or on screen graphics xx
I got a couple of those city houses for 30 each at B&M in Leeds last week. Love the vids
@@bhavannijjar4648 thanks very much. I got mine the same way. One has a little ding in the corner but shouldn't affect too much maybe 5-10% but they are doing well. I've said in recent video once I've gone through the retirement list then I'm going through 2022 then 2023. By the time they finish then it will be time to look back at 2024 see how they are doing. Once that's done I'll think about what to do next. See what information the LEGO community needs and go from there. I've said before any comments on how to improve my channel greatly appreciated. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Hey, my friend! I always watch your videos, and they help me a lot in making some decisions as I start my Lego investing journey. I'm from the city of Torres, in southern Brazil. The economy here is very unstable, but there are many Lego fans. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many opportunities for promotions or discounts as in Europe and the United States, but I’m adapting the strategies to make it work here, even though I'm uncertain if it will succeed. Best regards, and don't give up on the channel. Sincerely, Waio.
@@waiodesign31 thanks very much for the support and for watching and commenting. Once I've gone through the entire list of retiring sets then I will start to do videos on sets from the last couple of years to see if they were a good investment or not. That should give you some insight into what did well in the past so will give you more information on what will do well now and in the future. What you need to figure out is how to buy the sets the cheapest way in your country. Everyone has different ways of buying sets cheaper. Most only use GWP and only buy from LEGO. There are lots of ways to reduce the cost and find out the best way for you. I watch every Lego video I can find just take every top 10 to buy with a pinch of salt. Thanks again take care.
Geoff how do you pronounce the cammel x
@@MartinOwen-on3io the website is camelcamelcamel.com you can search for anything on Amazon also you can add an alert to notify you if something you want to buy gets to the price you want to pay. I've never used that option but you can. Hope that helps.
Maybe stop for abit and sell some invortory
@@MartinOwen-on3io hi. Thanks for watching my video. I intend to sell some, this Q4 I sold a few about a month ago but I'm not in any hurry. I know people want a quick turn around and make a small profit but I'd rather wait a little longer. Everyone has different strategies. Thanks again take care
I admire what your trying to do ive invested £7.000 its stating value is worth £11.200
Thanks very much it takes a lot of work and time. I spend a couple of hours every single night researching the videos. I have 12.5k now and it has cost me just over 5k to buy. You will see me explain in a future video how I've done that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@InvestInBricks Geoff I've currently spent £7.550 and worth £11.480 I only started 12 months ago
@@MartinOwen-on3io well done that's a short time to spend that sort of money. It's taken me around 18 months I'm not 100% sure when I started properly. I bought some Lego cheap first and sold it straight away for a quick profit then I found out Lego retired and if I'd kept hold of it I'd have made more. So from then on I bought to keep hold of until it's at the price I'm willing to sell. Best advice I'd give is research and research especially how to buy cheaper Lego investment the profit is made when you buy not when you sell. If you know what I mean. Thanks
Well said geoff
First
Thank you. My little channel has people trying to get first. Thanks again
Good stuff. I know your channel is pretty new, so it might help to grow engagement faster if you put the data you're reading up on the screen with images. For example, put an image on the set on the left hand of the screen and display the ratings and brickset Own/Want ratio with a small infographic you can copy and paste data into for each data. Solid content though, I'm curious to see how Zane's Ice Dragon will do. For the right discount it could be very profitable.
@@Pierce-qp5ex hi. Thanks for watching my channel and taking the time to comment. I've said in comments before it takes me hours to research the information so I try to make editing as easy as possible. I've looked at putting it on a screen like sharing screens etc but it would make the editing much longer. ATM until I get more tech savvy or find an easier way it's either me talking trying not to make a mistake and uploading it without editing or I film the screen both don't take much editing or I spend my whole free time creating videos. I'm trying to find a way but I also keep thinking of other figures that would be useful so I'm increasing my research time also. You will see in upcoming videos I must be mad. Thanks again take care.
are you responsible for scalper prices? Yuck!
In this video I say I bought from Lego.com which would mean I paid FULL PRICE. So where do you get scalping from. Thanks for the comment though. So clever of you!
@@InvestInBricks YOU ARE THE SCALPER
@@aileenmorgan8276 thanks again for commenting it really helps the algorithm, I'm just a small INVESTOR not scalper. I buy at a fair price and sell to people who are happy to pay the price because people want to complete a set they have. No reseller force's anyone to buy anything. I think it's great that my little channel has been going for only a short time and I'm popular enough to get my first Karen. Thanks again.
