Stil a good laptop for what most ppl use a laptop for. I love the design (and the glowing logo!). The newer design of the MacBooks and the Imacs doesn't appeal to me that much. The books are ok butI find the design of the new iMac 24" plain ugly compared to its 27" predecessor. It's very easy to work on this series of laptops. Changing battery and ssd is a piece of cake. Battery swap takes less than 5 minutes (most of the time goes in removing the back cover). I will keep a 2017 MacBook Air as an extra laptop until it's technically at it's end. It will run future OS with open core legacy patcher and it probably runs lLinux as well (though I haven't tried that).

I just hate the notch.. lol

you might need to get durock stabilizers and hand lube them, you can try to hand lube those stabilizers and if that doesnt take away the rattle then do a Holee mod. durocks are just gonna be much higher quality stabs

I bought the same Macbook Air in 2020 from the Apple store Refurbished section for school. I’ve had it 3 years still have apple care on it and used it for everything lectures, notes, assignments, exams and watching shows. I love having all the ports, better keyboard, magsafe and the glowing apple logo.

Great video. I own a Mac Mini M1, but still have a MacBook Air 13" mid 2013, as well as a Galaxy Book S LTE. I still use the MacBook Air around the house, which I thought I wouldn't. I had planned to convert it to a Chrome device or Linux, but actually fell back in love with it, so changed the dying battery and it's running flawlessly.

For latest rumours apple plan for budget MacBook to compete Chromebook so wait for that next year😅😅

I just got one at about 130$ with 8GB memory and 256GB SSD. The design is so beautiful. Just like you said, normal light work can be done without any stress. I also swapped the 256GB SSD to a 1GB third-party SSD and it is faster.

I bought my 11 inch 8GB Core i7 Early 2015 MacBook Air last week primarily for running Kali Linux in a 'netbook' size form factor instead of getting a janky low quality Chromebook. Last of the 11 inch Macbooks and the only one to support Thunderbolt 2. Upgraded to a 2TB NVME. Other than the Core i7 not providing any advantage over a Core i5 (due to bad thermals) I love this thing. Set up multiboot as well with Windows 10 Boot Camp, Monterrey (latest it can support), and Mojave. $150 + $100 for the SSD replacement.

Good laptop! I have both an MacBook Pro 14 (2021) and a MacBook Air Early 2015 with 8 GB of RAM and 512 SSD. While I mainly use the MacBook Pro for heavy tasks, I still use the Air for some web browsing, some text editing, even some Adobe Photoshop and Indesign light edits and some work on mantaining some webistes for my clients.

Sound almost same

get xda keycaps. they made my gk61 sound so much better even wihtout foam or anything. then if you also do foam and tape mod then it sound amazing. would be better if i lubed but i really cba. still sounds fantsatic without lube and only those 3 mods

the only thing i can reccomend is finding a software to allow you to make your mic louder then your background music as well as making a script, it prevents the uhm's and stuttering.

i have the sk61 with yellows and it is an allround good keyboard. I am probably going to mod it in the future.

How are they yellow opticals? I've got the SK61 with brown gateron opticals, thinking of trying reds or yellows, maybe for whole board but definitely for shift keys etc

I got a steal of a deal, got the gateron optical silver switches in the red version for only $30 and ordered some black hyper x pudding keycaps for $20. The contrast is amazing and for $50 which is a little more than half the price for the keyboard alone it’s great. Best switches personally overall cause its the same specs as yellows just need the activation force of regular linears which I personally find is better for avoiding accidental presses
