"17 games of lore" is a really big stretch. 3 and Zero are the only ones with a stand out story, and AC7 has arguably the weakest one in the series. It's not some grand culmination of storytelling.

On the point of the planes looking good, inside and out: The team at Project Aces actually got permission to go to actual air bases and take pictures of military jets up close. And when they arrived on said air bases, most of the pilots told them that they either outright inspired their desire to become pilots, or at the very least, provided them with the fantasy of what they originally thought arial combat was going to be like.

Distance was the first game I was really hyped for. I played Nitronic Rush to death when I discovered it and got the open beta as soon as Distance released on Steam, played the campaign over and over again for first place in the still infant community scoreboard, before grip was a thing and the grip flying tech was discovered. I even set it as a life goal to make the car a reality, top to bottom, minus maybe the jumping and flying. Remember when Tesla was still somewhat trustworthy and Elon commented on the possibility of using cold gas thrusters to improve maneuverability of a vehicle? Personal headcanon is he played Distance. I haven't played it for a long while, mostly because I also discovered Redout and because I feel I hit my "peak", falling short of trying to platinum rank the main campaign with the before mentioned tech. Refract is now a party of one but we still got another update to the lighting and the map editor recently. It's likely Distance won't receive any more significant development, but we can hold out hope that a new team will be formed to embark into another project.

Out of service to the President, I wanted to see how hard it would be to fly nothing but two seaters on Mercenary difficulty. My god, it was fucking hard but it felt so fucking nice when i finally kicked Crimson 1's ass with an F-14 Tomcat and a G-LOC'd WSO in the back

When hot wheels 2 review?

I'm nearly 4 years late to the party here but this basically nailed all of the issues I've had with the game, including ones I knew I had but never "vocalized" to myself. Like the FBI bust that should have happened. The plot armor was the biggest turnoff for me, so I just tolerate the fights with Mihaly, which is a shame. Great presentation.

Ironically, distance has a LOT of acceleracers maps. And a lot of hotwheels, fzero, etc. maps. Would love if you redid the distance review, but this time covering the more mechanically complex levels. And doing the legacy campaign and ''The other side'' (which I saw you had unlocked). The other side shows how distance is not really a ''racing'' game in the traditional sense.

I like the AOA because it sounds realistic, I.E if your area of attack is to small or large your in trouble if you don’t rectify it quick, cool stuf

I think the mountains are great terrain. Cover from missiles and difficulty keeping off the mountainside is fun

I’m going through the Frontline missions after beating the regular campaign and I must say I’m enjoying Project Wingman much more than I did AC7. I should have a stunt mix up soon.

Project Wingman is not a competitor to Ace Combat. PW is a love letter to AC.

My only wish was that all the planes were 2 seaters so I could get more of Prez's dialogue. As much as i like the F/D-14, I wanted to mess around with those experimental on my first playthrough. Other than that, I like to think of this game as Ace Combat fans deciding to make their own dogfighting game, with Blackjack, and Hookers. Its oozing with what fans love out of that franchise, good feeling dogfighting even with the limited roster (though the inclusion of only 1 attacker does weigh it down as an option despite the necessity of MLAG in the mid to endgame) and most importantly of all, a Villain i actually wish we got more of. The lengths Crimson 1 is willing to go given how he perceives the world is fascinating, and his stage presence rivals some of the best from AC. Also the fact that i believe his voice actor was one of the volunteers makes what we see of him and the genuinely good performance amazing I am begging for another game though, mercs, soldiers, some kind of rebel or protector story, just give us more Project Wingman!

Anyone saying this game is easy just because you have an npc companion is losing it. A lot of the bosses are either random in their attack patterns or they have attack chains that go on forever. This game is the bad kind of difficult where it is unfair.

After playing ace combat 7, my friend gave me PW, and I thought it was way better than Ace combat, specially the depiction of war being hell and the finale being only a mesage that everything was gone, ib contrast to the happy endings of most games.
