Tornado at 6/10? That’s overly generous…it used to be fun, but it’s now on my 5 worst list
@@iabusdriver29 I may need to do some re rides to solidify my number then and see if it changes!! Thanks for the comment and happy riding!
Frontier City is really nothing more then a slightly better themed parking lot carnival, and that's unfortunate because it could be compatible to Silver Dollar City with a little bit of investment.
Thanks for watching and I agree some more investment into this park would be awesome!
Frontier City just hasn't invested in their rides or park experience over the years and that has lead to seriously diminished crowds.
Yeah the park has potential and decent vibe and space if they would put some more investment into it they could make it a lot nicer !
Timberwolf really needed the retrack, but I wish they'd left the helix in. That was actually a record-breaking element.
Agree I grew up going to this park but the later years of the original were so brutal I could barely ride it until it go re tracked 😂
as somebody who lives in colorado I can assure you that while that park is trash, it's our trash and we all love to dunk on it while spending a nice day in the city
lol it’s not that bad, at least you have something… I live in Phoenix AZ where castles n coasters is my home park… 😂
*before all the other enthusiasts get on me about rock o plane and roll o plane - I realize traditionally the names of these are flipped however for some reason at Arnold’s park they had “roll-o-plane” sign located in front of the Ferris wheel style ride, and the “rock-o-plane” sign in front of the airplane style ride - not sure why they did this, but I stuck with the name they used at the park for each ride
It's a good day when Big Guy Rides uploads, also seems like a park with some old school rides and could use some investments
We appreciate your support more than you know. Channel is about to go crazy next year I’m going to expand beyond just park reviews. Things like top rankings, nano coaster builds, etc! Excited for what’s to come, keep watching!
@@Bigguyrides noice
No
pony express is way too short.
I totally agree but it’s a good little launch tho 😮
Seats 2,5, and 8 are the smoothest on the Wildcat because they are non wheel seats.
That’s awesome info thank you for sharing!
They need to bring back the Wild West Gunfight from way back in the day. There used to be a train towards the back of the park and “Bandits” would rod the train. Thought I’d add that the gunfight cowboys used to roam around randomly and a gunfight could happen without a moment’s notice
Yeah they have a train but it wasn’t running on my visit :(
This is my local theme park. We live only 10ish mins away from it been going since I was one month old and I am 11 I highly recommend going in October there is something called the fall fest Adventureland. The fall fest is where 17 to 16 year olds get to be dressed up and they get in scary costumes and also it only happens at night but in the day everything is still all set up and you can go through like haunted houses and everything and during the fall fest I recommend riding the red Spinney ride/the dragon slayer you. would probably think it’s scary in line, but I promise you is not. It is the funniest freaking thing in the world. I love it’s probably like my favorite ride for some reason it’s less scarier than the green roller coaster/the monster I have been on every single ride there and for beginners here are some ages were recommended rides through in my opinion starting at 3 u can ride carousel shaken bacon, and tea cups shaken bacon 3-13 tea cups 3-80 carousel 3- any age starting at 5 Phoenix Derflinger flying Viking falling Viking tilt-a-wherl starting at 6 tornado outlaw and all the rest of the rides are good for all ages

I know this is silly, but I cried at the Harry Potter section. I loved those books and movies growing up and when I got the chance to go to CA in 2018, I wanted to go to Universal so bad just for the Wizarding World section. But my cousin, who I was staying with, convinced me to go to Disneyland. Disneyland was still cool, but it felt more ride driven, whereas Universal seems more experience driven. If I ever get the chance to visit CA again, I WILL go to Universal. I just need to make sure I have money for food and souvenirs. 🤣
Not silly at all! My sister loves Harry Potter as well and this was the ONLY place she wanted to make sure we for sure didn’t miss! So I get it! I feel that both Disney and universal are comparable in CA. I’ve been to both and they offer decent things for both sides, just as you said though food and souvineers can be very expensive!
I totally understand you not liking getting wet. Fury Of The Nile is my favorite ride, and I saw some rides I didn't know were there that I might get on if I ever go again. I'm not a fan of roller coasters and I don't go to amusement parks often. I've only gone twice in my adult life, one with my cousin and one with my nephew.
Thank you for watching! Yes I just don’t like to get soaked and then have to walk around the park to dry off 😂😂 however I’ve heard sometimes you don’t get too wet on fury of Nile!
We love Frontier City!
Thanks for watching!
He did not mention the log ride. My personal favorite at that park.
@@ComicBookFanBoyPrime yes unfortunately it was closed on my visit and we do not do water rides as I hate getting wet so we skipped that one! Thank you for watching though!
I've always loved going to frontier city used to go almost every year with my family and it was always the best (also quick fun fact rolling thunder used to be called the brain drain)
Thanks for watching! I didn’t know it was called brain drain - same name as that ride at elitch gardens in Denver too 😂😂!
I love your reviews, because you give a solid look of each ride and you also have other useful info like size ratings, ride ranking, e.t.c
Really thank you so much for commenting. I started this back in December and have found there is a huge community of coaster enthusiasts but not enough “professional” grade reviews! I own Arizona’s largest recording and photo/video studio - so this is right up my alley / and I love theme parks so thought why not combine the two! Glad you enjoyed. Happy riding! (New review drops every other Friday!)
I love these videos, being from the same region your content is even more appropriate for me than it would otherwise be. I can't wait to get to Lost Island, they're closed for the season currently but it's definitely on my radar for next year.
Thank you so much for commenting I put a lot of time energy and money behind creating these reviews for you guys! I’ve got over 25 parks waiting and ready to go! New review drops every other Friday! Happy riding!
You definitely have to go! Such an awesome and underrated park!
Awesome video! I remember Jupiter's Claim in the movie Nope. Didn't know the studio tour had that now!!
thank you for watching! this is truly a great park!
I went here at my 8th grade field trip..
Nice how did you like it? Were many rides closed?
@@Bigguyrides It was fun, only 2 were closed but, I’d say it was a good way to end the 8th grade year, I’m in my 3rd week of sophomore
Monster shuts it down. Tornado is great too.
Tornado is a classic that was recently designated as an ACE coaster!
As someone who has come here 15+ times, if you don’t focus on the actual ride experiences but more as a place to have fun with friends, it’s genuinely a blast. In my opinion sidewinder is the only ride here that’s better than “meh.” It’s really too bad it doesn’t open reliably, I could literally ride it all day. In fact I have.
@@IllegalPizza777 I agree, I grew up in Nebraska so came to Denver often, remember the old park even. It has gone downhill a lot in recent years, rumors have it the new SF Corp may be eyeing it for or after relocation, which I think would be beneficial

Frontier City seems like a charming theme park
It certainly hits the mark for charming cute family park. Probably not big enough for large thrill seekers, certainly larger than a small kiddie park. I really enjoyed my time.

Hey There --- driven by this place a couple times, never thought much of it. What do you mean by solo adult coaster enthusiasts should check in with management at the front?
@@drummerrocky5494 because it’s geared towards family, a middle aged single person going to the park could be seen as - odd - so the park requests adults going without family or children check in at the front just as a safety precaution.
Thank you. I haven't been there in years, and starting to miss the old Adventureland. I don't miss the rough Dragon, but the design was a good steel coaster. Used to go during State Fair, and the park would usually be empty, so my friends and I would ride Tornado or something continuously until we were bored. Recently, I drove by after visiting the State Fair and noticed the long line for the Tornado. Also, sad a Walmart and commercial area moved into the empty corn fields behind the Tornado as the corn fields used to provide a nice view. I prefer looking at a sea of fields than a Walmart parking lot with an Arbys from 100ft up. The log ride used to be fun. Put the heavy people in the back and a wall of water comes splashing over on the drop. Surprised the sawmill Splash is still there. Rode it once with my friends. 3 of us were a bit heavy. We had so much speed coming around the u turn that the boat nearly went over the edge. Seemed a little dangerous to me. Outlaw is fun, but I get uneasy watching the whole coaster sway on the first drop. Lastly, the Raging Rapids or whatever was a staple ride. Sad to see it go. Another thing I've heard disappeared was the trolley shuttle from the resort. Also heard lately from people that the resort is trashy. The resort used to be so cool with the giant pool before they added the new addition with another pool. We'd get a room by the pool, and family friends would get together in the afternoon or evening to enjoy pizza, card games, or beer before hopping in the pool at night when the bar in the pool area had live music. Sucks the good times are over. I guess that means I need to make new good times somewhere else.
I grew up coming to this park and I feel opposite as you. I think the park has improved tremendously, they added new, thrilling rides, and old woodies like tornado were NOT enough to make this a good park. Personally I cannot speak on the resort side, but heard they have put some good work into that as well. I totally think this this is a place where good times happen and would recommend this park to anyone looking for a fun day. Sorry you feel otherwise but I don’t believe that’s true that the “good times are over”. Very sad to hear you feel this way when I believe the park is doing better now than ever!
Happy National Coaster Day!
Same to you!

Utah resident for 31yrs here. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS POORLY RUN AMUSEMENT PARK; I’m a Lyft driver and tell everyone who’s traveling/vacationing to stay away, same as any local here. The owners are /bad/ people. Their security team is made up mostly of 16 year old teens with no previous training to keep wages as low as they can. They make $15-$16/hr, same as the guy making your cheeseburger, so in essence, not enough for security staff to care about the job in a serious way. Now imagine, what if a 300lb drunk man had to be escorted out by 125lb, 16yr old Mackenzie? When I called them out of FB, and got major engagement in the comments thread discussing their security, me and everyone on that list got blocked. No response from Lagoon. Their “zoo” has been boycotted for years, online and physically outside their gates; us locals think it’s beyond cruel how they treat those animals and it hasn’t changed for all 31 years I’ve been here. Working conditions (according to several friends who’ve personally worked there) are abysmal; hot buildings and no running AC when working food service or anywhere indoors, insane heat with no shade, misters, or fans to help cool down employees for 6-8hrs in the 98 degree or more summer heat, extremely low pay (to this day), and horrible, sometimes abusive management staff. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE CHARGING DISNEYLAND PRICES TO ABUSE THEIR STAFF AND ANIMALS IN THEIR CARE.

Hi
Hello there and thanks for watching!
I have ridden the Paratroopers by myself on multiple occasions so whoever told you that you couldn't ride alone is full of balony. You missed Rattle Snake Rapids just behind Pioneer Village. Also the family ride Odssey Ride is pretty fun it squirts water and you can try to get wet or try not to get wet.
Oh really? That’s awesome news! Yeah sometimes they have like high school level ride ops.. 😂
really cool to go back to a childhood park, this place looks great! if you're ever in southern georgia/northern florida would you check out Wild Adventures, just outside Valdosta, GA. that was My childhood theme park!
Thanks for the comment! I used to live in Atlanta, so familiar with wild adventures and most def will make a stop there in the next year or two and make a sweet video!
Dude... that Timerber Wolf used to be super janky. Like you would walk off of that thing with whiplash.
100% agree it used to be an unbearable ride I came here many times as a kid as I grew up in Nebraska and it’s WAY better now than it used to be
Timber Wolf is way better than Prowler from my experience. Prowler's lap bars versus Timber Wolf's are too tight against the stomach and lend very poor comfort, and that's why I quit riding Prowler and haven't since my visit from June 23rd of last year. Timber Wolf's lap bars go directly on the lap instead of my stomach. I'm 5'8'' and nearly 220 pounds but working on my diet. I do like how Timber Wolf has been re-tracked like most typical woodies do and that it's much smoother nowadays than it was then, and that they had to replace the 560-degree helix with a 70-degree over-banked hairpin turn back during the 2017-18 off-season. Before I was tall enough to outgrow the kiddy rides, Timber Wolf originally didn't have the headrests and their lap bars were the shared kinds (like what the Tornado and Outlaw at Adventureland still use today) before they changed them to the individual ratcheting kinds. Speaking of Cosmic Coaster, adults are actually only allowed if riding with kids in their party under 54 inches tall for the sake of being a kiddy ride, and it says on their website that any guest exceeding 54 inches tall must ride with a child below that height in the range. I rode Cosmic Coaster back when it was the Wacky Worm when I was little in the 90s and when Planet Snoopy was Pandamonium back then. Le Taxi Tour that I grew up with, they recently got new taxis by Gould Manufacturing and use a left-hand drive configuration while the older ones from Arrow Development that are left over use the right-hand drive configuration.
What do you mean by shuffling?
Shuffling is when the coaster car slides side to side on the track rails instead of rolling smoothly over them as intended. It creates a very rough ride (as you can see in the POV by how shaky it is) and usually is caused by long usage, general wear and tear.
