Wow! Loved this video. This is really enlightening about the insights and interests of elderly people. It helped me out a lot when I was doing a school survey about the elderly.

I wish i had seen this sooner. My father-in-law experinced this and we found it hard to believe that the time of the day could have an effect on him. Being informed would have helped us help him better. He has passsed on now though

Don’t sacrifice your lifestyle in order to “leave the kids something.” If you’ve worked hard for your money and can afford it, go out and ENJOY your money instead of worrying about the kids who may just be waiting with their hands out.

Grown up kids have their own stuff and probably don’t want yours unless it’s worth something, and even then they may not want it.

Based on your examples do you think President Biden is a victim of Elder Abuse? Certainly seems he has dementia and random bouts of anger, confusion and abject terror. Do you think he is aware of the fact that he's losing his mind?. Biden can’t even talk in particulars. If anyone here has watched a speech (WHERE IT IS PLANNED AND COORDINATED TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE) he STILL bumbles his words. I can’t understand anything live. They have a spokesperson, translator, for him afterwards to spin whatever the hell he said. No interviews unless softballs, no press conferences, the only time the press hits him is in between events and interrupting him in public. What does Dr. Jill think about the staffers or handlers and how they are (mis)treating him?

My grandmother died She was almost really healthy in the mind And she loved me so much. However we lived in different regions Me in New England and her at the south of Mexico. I just wished I knew how to talk to her.

My husband and i are elderly, retired and disabled. He is 81 and i am 74. We have multiple serious health issues. We want to live in our own home, but it is becoming more difficult over time. We hate asking for help. For us, growing old has become so difficult that we would rather die than be dependent on anyone.

This is wonderful! It would be such a good lesson for youth program or volunteer training

This video is ridiculous,. Obviously you’ve never taken care of a parent who is in moderate severe stage of dementia and paranoid… And refuses and is unable to accept how they are.

remember elderly people have not got the money you have, try living with little money then do a show with little money, all these diet programs are from people who got plenty of money, work a budget plan and give costs and talk to people who are poor,

My dad is too far gone in this regard. He has not showered in almost 3 years! We do manage to wash his clothes after reading them for weeks at times. He does not sponge bathe as he will not allow anyone even my mom to be in the bathroom with him. At times he has used body wipes but very rarely. He no longer shaves and he never had facial hair. Every month or so their hairdresser comes and cuts my folks' hair and she will shave him and groom his chest and back but that's the extent of his hygiene. He is still quite strong and belligerent and we can't reason with him re bathing. He is well behaved when other people are around but when it the 3 of us he can be rude and smartalecky and bossy. It's becoming a real problem.

My mother has dementia and she gets angry when she sundowns. I try to offer coffee to her, and tell her we can talk about different types of care. I let her vent and get out her anger, then she calms down and we can discuss nursing home, or home health after we clear the air. She has decided, so far, to stay at home with me and wait until after Christmas. I try my best not take it personally. It has been a challenge, but this seems to work, so far!
