This is the best I’ve seen. So many other videos I’ve seen, but people attempt to play this song and they don’t even come close to the original Charlie, but this young man is totally amazing.

God, I love the medley Johnny does in this one. The devil is setting the fiddle down, putting his hands up, and saying, “Okay, Johnny, I get it, you’ve made your point!” about halfway through the boy’s solo.

I've seen a band called Four live back in the late 90s they.were highly trained classical musicians.3 fiddles and 1 cello player and they played all the hardest Metallica from justice for all which any fan knows isostlyi musical with classical Lead and fade to black from ride the lighting and Joe Satriani songs and this fiddler tribute to Charlie Daniels best song ever.this guy is the devils master student. it's 6 to 7 fold quicker than any otherwise the violinist and to add Layla with 2 Metallica solos at a part I can't play. at all after over 25 years of guitar long story short I believe he is one of the fastest alive it takes him quite a few tries to just sing the song that fast and he nailed ithat once and that's it so hope many takes was Johnny's retort.. take a seat right there and let me show you how it's done.

This was a stellar cover! That "Johnny" solo was great, and lasted much longer than other covers (besides the Steve Ouimette version). It really gives the character of Johnny a great comeback towards the Devil playing his part.
