Crying is a good thing. lol something I learnt. I'll never be happier to hear a child crying in a situation like this.
Idiots
Now you can go burn the world.
Sorry this happened to you. That raft didn’t look very river friendly. Where was your spare oar?
I'm glad everyone is OK !
pull the existing oar out and use it as a paddle to control the boat if you have any paddling skills at all.
❤ great video. i subbed and hit the bell.
If you don't know what your doing why are you bringing you small child. Hope you learned. It is not just the ora broke it is you just dont know what your doing. I have gone through there and it is a very tight fit. But I know how to use my boat.
horse shit title
I think u did a great job getting ur family back safe in the raft. I’ve had my kiddos out in kayaks since they have been little
Well first of all that is not an oar, it is a toy. Second of all if you have only one toy, err, oar, learn how to scull.
F'ing idiots! Both of them!!!
Wow! Can't believe that guy had a car seat in the boat.
Next time get a babysitter for the child.
Dangerous and legitimately terrifying.
"Broken oar caused it".... uh huh. Sure. You paddling towards the infamous bridge with no control and a small infant right at the front caused it.
Hint: Walk Around The Bridge, he says as he paddles through the bridge.
Rule of thumb, don't buy cheap junk when you and your family's lives depend on it. That's why rafting gear is expensive. I wouldn't trust that boat in a backyard pool. That said, flipping in a calm river is far from tragedy. Consider this a valuable lesson learned where no one got hurt.
The force of water against that bridge pier is greater than what most people realize. Do the math. I wouldn't call that a calm river. It only takes one spot to ruin your day.
Well what happened was the oar broke 😆
Came across this video because I’m curious to take my toddler on river rafting family trip this weekend in Provo. Good job Mom and Dad! Never mind the negative comments! Way to stay calm and in control!
Did you end up going? If so how was it?
These aren't negative comments. They are a dire warning. Listen up!
Lmao fairly tame river but that raft was not a good place for the baby. Had one been pinned and the other hit a head. Or worse yet the baby gets pinned in a sweeper.
Child abuse
Don't go rafting with this guy. You could've given one paddle to your wife and each paddled on a side and been fine.
They was trying to drown the toddler for the insurance!
Somebody warned me about that bridge, now I know the exact one to portage.
I love how people act like this was a tragedy but this happens all the time AND you shouldn't have brought a child that small.
I agree, except for the child thing I did the middle fork of the salmon at 18 months and I turned out fine.
Yeah let’s go white water rafting with our baby. White people r too much
I seek a Khz license for Ham Radio kindly suggest how do I get it for free

More appropriate title: Lego boat with plastic oars pins causing mild discomfort
Hi All About Jack and areyouprepped; It must be "Retro Reflective" tape. This is kind of the opposite of reflective tape. Retro reflectors send the light back in the direction it came from. Unlike normal reflectors which work like a normal mirror. It must be attached to the back side of the main mirror. The light is sent back towards the sun where it hits the back side of the front surface of the glass and is sent back to your eye. These rays of light are parallel to the suns rays from the main mirror. redrok@redrok.com
If you ever take the proper way up the Provo river they have a person explaining that you should get out of the river go over to the train tracks and proceed to go down the river in this case you didn’t!!
This is why they tell you to get out at the bridge.
Отличная идея! Сделаю себе такое- же.
This video is old, so you may have learned the hard way by now. Those plastic jugs will leak. I started out doing the same thing. 4 one gallon jugs in milk crates. I had a mess on the floor in less than a year. Also, always buy filtered or drinking water, which is basically bottled tap water. It's been processed and chlorinated and will last indefinitely if stored right. Distilled water has all the minerals and chlorination removed. Hope this helps.
Rather than asking , "Why would bring your kid on a class I - II run," one might want to ask, "Why would you endanger your wife and child by putting in alone on a swiftwater river at bank full levels with inferior "pool toy" paddling equipment when it is clear that you are completely bereft of any swiftwater paddling or rescue experience, dangerously incompetent and blatantly ill prepared?" That is a dangerous set of bridge pylons and the the poster is lucky that he did not cause the death of his wife, child or himself. It is this type of irresponsible behavior that results in unneeded government restriction to or regulation of our ever decreasing river access. You cannot legislate away this sort of stupidity.
The difference between a fun day on the water versus a tragedy or near tragedy can be a very slim margin.
Maybe be prepared with extra oar next time.
For the exact time proven prepping strategies that have been used since the beginning of mankind, google Trankors Survival Secret. You can become the leader of the pack and be ready for anything.
Why not use the disk from inside an old hard drive?
Because that is not a "Retro Reflector"
A hard drive disk will work. Hold it at arm's length and sight the target through the hole, then find the reflection of the hard disk's shadow on the rear shiny surface. Align this reflection of the shadow over the hole and on the target and you will shine a bright flash on the target.
Sooooo....if you look on a lot of raft company rafts theres a spare oar...or two...tough lesson for this young, brave but naive couple to learn. Could have definitely been worse. Sensational title may be an indication of the naive perspective that contributed to the situation.
"A razor blade is more manly than scissors" There is nothing manly about using the wrong tool for the job to try and act like a tough guy. It's actually pretty dumb and pathetic. Other than that. Good video. Just got my first signalling mirror from the store and it has the retroreflective aimer built in.
In that same space you could put a 15 Gal barrel then stack the jugs on top. You can fill it with the sprayer (with the head removed). Or get an adapter for your faucet.
Wash out some well cleaned 2 liter soda bottles and stack them up on their sides in a "pyramid" stacking style in your lower/floor kitchen cabinets (and everywhere else including closets). Assuming you have chlorinated water it will last for about 12 months without any filtration/purification. Have (at best) a Berkey filter or at the very least a Sawyer Mini on hand if you have any concerns about the water. . .no need to boil if you can purify
HORRIFIC WASTE OF CAPITALIZATION!! Exact same happened to me and my buddies at around 10PM in a 5 man raft... Damn it was cold, does that shit come straight out the bottom of the lake?
Lol this happened to me at the exact spot while tubing
I actually went in this river, and the people told us to not go under the bridge. And people who did lost their rafts/ tubes.
The angle that the water hits the pylons at about 45 degrees and the pylons are not that far apart. That jumps the technical aspects of navigating it more difficult. Shallow water flowing against a fixed object creates a lot of pressure. A cubic foot of water weighs 56lbs multiply with cubic feet per second of flow rate and apply your hydrology math, it doesn't take alot to get pinned even in shallow water. Luckily that obstacle usually spits out the many who fail to hit it just right.
I just love hearing him swim to them, oh oh ew oh.... lol
Oh the Horror! The wife was like a dead fish lol. And for those saying I would never put my kids in danger, good shelter them, that way when real problems in life occur they'll explode and go nuts.....
Would like to find a place that i could take a tech test.. thanks for any help i am in Visalia, CA tulare county
