Sandhurst Academy 2019 Passing-Out Parade Speech to Officers
What's the song at 7:01?
God bless the Prince of Wales.
Still have mixed memories of the place - I passed out in Dec 98! Those Colour Sgts and Sgt Maj's stay with you! Feels very recent still.
I passed out in 1953 and I totally agree with you
.
Would be interesting to know if the ukrainian officer cadet is still alive
You all have too watch the passing out parade of" pma kakol" and cadet college jhang 2023
No Armed forces can beat the decipline of Indian Armed Forces
yes
What's the march that they play during PoP ? Auld Lang Syne ?
This is cool!👍
Wow very nice great ! who dares wins ! haha
Only weak men wear spurs
Can’t salute can’t parade bodies in an unsoldierly posture poor baring
Only stupid people put their sword tip to the tarmac

We, your officer masters have removed your brains. Your free thinking is now lost. We taught you nothing that will help you other than saying "corporal carry on." Because you dont have a clue. Crack on...
Thank for uploading your video but I could really have done without your racial/political diatribe. First off, you can't make people apply - especially for something like national service. Secondly, what kind of numbers were you expecting when people of that heritage only make up 3% of the population? Why not just be happy that anyone, with the state of the government or MoD, is willing to give so much of themselves? Wishes for happiness, health, and success to young men and women of the 2019 graduating class
I wouldn’t really call it political. If you think racism is a political issue I’ve got some news for you my friendio

Do they get to take their uniforms/swords home? If not, can they buy it
The "blues" uniform you hand back after the parade as well as the swords. That said, most Ocdts will buy their own swords specific to the regiment they are commisioning into, complete with personalized engravings.
Why do some carry swords but others rifles? They are all officers correct or are the rifle carrying ones still in training?
Those carrying swords are about to pass out and have a matter of days left at the academy until they commission. Those carrying rifles are the junior and intermediate intakes, the parade marking their progress onto the next stage of the 44 week course.
Only those actually passing out use swords- the other platoons are yet to complete their course
Having passed through Sandhurst several years ago I'm disappointed to see only one black face in the parade. The UK has a long way to catch up on the USA where many senior military commanders are black right up to general level.
We can only have black soldiers if black men and women want to join. It isn’t for a lack of trying on the Military’s side.
Your opinion is irrelevant.
the USA is still more raciest as a country then the UK
You need to go to Specsavers lad, there are way more than 1 non-white person on the parade. There's still a whole lot more to be done but it's not the picture you're painting (and I'm not including those I assume to be F&C).
@@daniellastuart3145 U are 💯% correct on that ...America is way more Racist than any other's country
So this is what I missed! I failed my selection board back in 1968.
I failed mine in 1991.
lol noobs
I was a Cadet at Texas A&M University from an Army family my dad retired as a CSM, he wanted for me to be an officer. During the Spring semester of my sophomore year I dropped out thinking that the war wouldn’t last until my7 commission date of May 1970. Knowing full well that I could attend OCS. I passed the test for OCS but after my Infantry AIT I was sent to Jump School with follow on orders to report to Ft Bragg and the Special Forces Training Group (now called the Q Course). After I arrived at Ft Bragg I had a meeting with the CSM of the Training Group. He talked me out of attending the OCS. He told me to stay here and if I graduated 12 months from now, request the 5th Special Forces Group RVN and request an assignment to the Mobile Strike Force. In the Mike Force I’d be in command of a company abet an indigenous company. So I graduated and was assigned to the 5th Group and was also granted an assignment to the Mike Force. Once on a team A-401 our Captain sent me with another NCO on a 30 day combat operation; I’d been on the team just 3 days. The NCO was leaving to go home and his company the 43rd Company with 112 Cambodians. I took the company out three additional times with Greg with each combat mission lasting 30 days. After I returned I had lunch with what was left of my class in May 1970 right before they were to be commissioned. I wore my uniform with my Green Beret and the lunch was pleasant. But I was amazed as to how young they looked. I on the other hand look old before my time. As it turned out I was the only one to do a tour in the Nam. I was amazed as how terrified I was at the upperclassmen and how foolish I now felt. Even though I didn’t serve as an officer, I did command a company through 48 days of combat with another 30 days during the wet season using Airboats (fiberglass with zero armor). I completed my schooling at the University of Texas, May 5, 1974.
@@Marka2401 ok
No-one misses this place. But I get what you mean. Passing out was a huge relief and sense of freedom. The longest year ever lived.
NAPOLEON WANTS HIS CANNONS BACK, HE LOST THEM AT WATERLOO.
All this would be very ridiculous anywhere, except in the UK and with the British
How so?
Virtually every developed-ish government has a military academy or university
Need to work on the march alignment of the right guidon
The band sounded weak and limp not very uplifting necks back in the collar march tall with pride...hmmm none of that.
Just as sharp as our west pointers.

Senior under officer? Is that for an exceptional cadet?
At Tom ? Yes it is. When I was at the RMA in the very early 70's cadets in their senior term were known as Senior Cadets. A select few were made JUO.s, (Junior Under Officers), but only a select few - VERY few - made SUO (Senior Under Officer).

Why do some have swords and some guns?
It's a British army tradition that has lasted for the past few hundred years
I believe that the ones with swords are the Officers who are actually graduating, the remainder are still in their stages of training.
