I have been on the fence about buying rebirth. I think I have been convinced not to. So sick of these unnecessary alterations. I get, and to some degree could even accept the alternate story line. Or at least the idea of it. But bad writing, needlessly changing characters when they could have stood and been better for it even with the alternate timeline, censoring, and pandering are completely disgusting. To say nothing of and writing, treating the players like they are idiots, and anti-consumer practices. The worst part is that the Sony exclusivity is for only for FF. All their other titles and franchises don't have this anymore. If I feel like playing Rebirth I will find another method.

I was too old and too PC to ever get into the Final Fantasy universe but it is so popular and has appeared in several formats. When they finally released it for PC I jumped without looking in an attempt to learn why it was such a beloved franchise. What I got was a cash grab, incomplete with the promise of over-paying for it again 2 more times IF I wanted to see it's completion. It may have worked had I been engaged, but like most console titles - they were made to engage children and become part of their persona as they grow up. Too late for me as I said.

Removing savior schnapps and adding a ranged targeting dot changed this game from annoying to enjoyable, and I'll probably have to do it again for the next one because - you know - devs and their self righteous attitudes.

it was so realistic it was incredibly boring. It had all the right ingredients but somehow it didn't work for me. It felt like a job, not like a game. It was not as good as people hype it. If skyrim was 8/10, KCD is 6/10. It's like total freedom open world but with so many restrictions it hardly feels like any, just like real life, come to think of it 🤣 if only it let me play as someone I choose to, like a black person with blue hair, or idk... a woman !!!!, that would be an improvement. but like that, it's just prudish christian medieval life simulator. I had more fun playing BG3 than this.

Kudos for recommending KCD. It is an amazing game. I am fortunate enough to live close to the places where the game is happening and let me tell you, visiting places I ran around for hundreds of hours in game for the first time in person like Rattay, Sasau Monastery and other locations from the game was such a weird and eerie experience.

as a member of the lgbtq and furry community (yeah i know x3), I don't mind a fantasy game to bend the rules a little for representation. Then again when a game as Kingdom Come openly states how accurate they want to make the game, I sure as heck don't expect them to pander to me. In fact, I respect how they represent that time. I liked the game overall, but the jank and clunky mechanics made me end my playthrough somehwere around the 75% mark. I should probably continue and finish the game before the 2nd installment. A little ps: I didn't enjoy the "representation" in the newest dragon age. The best way to write a gay or otherwise queer character is by not making their sexual orientation their entire character! That goes for every kind of media. Even more infurating is the fact, that Dragon Age could do so in the other installments far more naturally.

I gonna say a truth: The chance of have a black person in medieval Bohemia is huge that we think. But a change of him don't be some huge ass high level scholar, noble diplomat or merchant how only the king and a few nobles know is 0.

GOTY 2025? with game awards choosing astrobot over other titles, maybe the next GOTY will be a puzzle mobile game.

KC:D is without a doubt the most immersive game I have ever experienced. If you just want to push buttons and see particle effects, do not play it. There's basically none of that in the game, and you'll just be disappointed. A common KC:D experience is spending half the game dirt poor, covered in real shit, stripping corpses for fucking apples just to get by, suddenly coming across a bandit camp on your way back from a failed hunting trip and stealing your first usable weapon from some guy's tent while they're asleep and strutting through town like you own the street when you get back home just because you have something made of actual steel on your belt. It's such a slow burn, the fire isn't even lit - it's cooking from sunlight alone. I honestly have no idea how to even recommend this game, because everything I love about it sounds like an awful experience, but it just works. There's an actual sense of pride strapping on full plate mail armour when you spent your first 10 hours as a homeless vagrant. There's actual progression because the game has the balls to gimp its own mechanics to sell the idea of hard earned improvement. The game is actually bad on purpose at the start, because Henry sucks at everything except running his mouth unless you do something about it.

The only real issue I ever had was the amount of weight you are allowed to carry. I know the horse is the pack mule, but midgame, I was barely able to carry the armor on my body. Eventually you get some perks that help you out, but it sucked not being able to have a chestplate in the early game because it weighed too much. Also some of the skills sucked ass to upgrade. Lockpicking especially becaues 90% of chests where very hard. You had to hang around farms and camps to get easy chests to level on, which only ever had junk in them.

I don't hate it, the first person is disorienting and the combat is a touch too difficult for the controls, but it's a good game.

KCD had a very buggy release but now that it's heavily patched it's truly an amazing experience.
