No, that was ground loop noise from my mixer setup at the time. If you use the USB MIX-IN source in on a computer it is perfectly clean.

Absolutely. The JX-08 can fully sync by MIDI or sync cable to other devices and receive MIDI on separate channels, one for each part, or on the main channel which is whatever part you have selected.

All of the volcas have the same two tempo ranges: Full: 10 - 600 or Narrow: 56 - 240 which should be Global setting 5 on each model so you should be able to get the same effect with any of the volcas by changing these. Some models like the FM and the keys have sequence tempo dividers which either eliminate the need for tempo dividing or can give you crazy long sequences using this technique. Cheers ⚡

Sadly it does not have edge-to-edge glide, there is a gap which will cause an interrupt if you try to glide across the boundary. Check out Doctor Mix's showcase where I think he runs into this. If you are looking for a longer glide range, take a look at the Seaboard Rise 2 with 61 full size key-waves, as they call them. Cheers ⚡

That's right - you can also assign the same MIDI channel to each part and use CC controls to adjust both simultaneously. Otherwise you gotta do a little toggle action to control each part parameter as seen in the Cory Hart synth riff jam where you can also hear the hard panning on the JX-08: ruclips.net/video/_-huR5iQppw/видео.html

Thanks - it was a fun one to research and recreate. Check out OBS software, it's free Open Broadcast Studio. Easy to set up. DroidCam is one of several camera plugins for OBS, the most affordable vs features I could find, still trying it out. The scene switcher is another free plugin for OBS. I can't believe I had two iphones and wired cam streaming at once - a tad bit of latency you can see on some of the vids but I think it was good on the wired phone.

Congrats! There is a special midi adapter that comes with the Seaboard M and I connect that to a regular midi cable and then to whatever synth I am using. However, I need to use the computer software to change the MIDI channel I want to send on, which is channel 1 by default. Or I can switch the device to receive the MIDI channel the seaboard is sending on, either way should work. If you want to pass the USB midi back through to your devices from your computer, you can route that separately in Ableton or Bitwig with different stock plugins - check out youtube for tutorials on general midi device routing in whatever DAW you are using. @@Tetrad10 Yeah you can export two different formats (one for the Zenology plugin itself, and one for ZenCore hardware, like the MC-101). I can't imagine exporting model expansions patch banks for use in the ZenCore Boutiques was intended. I think that only the JX/JD-08 use ZenCore, and the earlier ones use the same ACB modelling as stuff like the System-8 (hence lower polyphony of Boutiques like the Juno/Jupiter), so won't be able to make use of any Zenology functionality I imagine (though from what I see, the earlier Boutiques store each preset in an individual text file where you can read the parameters in plain text, so not much to be gained there, compared with the new Boutiques with their one single .bin file that contains everything). But it certainly seems possible with the equivalent JD model expansion and Boutique. There's a github repo called JDTools which is what I've seen cover the JD-08 functionality. Perhaps there are some insights there that you can make use of for the JX side of things.

Yes, that is ground-loop noise because I was passing audio through the Focusrite Scarlett audio interface instead of using the direct USB ASIO output of the JX-08 and likely wasn't bypassing the mixer. There are all kinds of reasons for the noise, but usually moving the devices with lots of LEDs to battery power eliminates most of it. Lately, I have been using the direct USB audio source from the JX-08 and the MC-101 to record into Bitwig and they are dead quiet, no noise floor to speak of just clean digital signal.

Before you buy, makes sure the owner has unregistered the Seaboard M from their ROLI account. There is no paid subscription required, but you do need to register at ROLI using an email and activate your Seaboard M to have access to the free ROLI software included. The original Seaboard Block keyboard is discontinued, but this is the new generation. It supposedly works with the ROLI Loop and ROLI Color blocks, but I haven't tried. I have not experienced any noticeable latency delays using with wired MIDI, USB MIDI or WIFI MIDI, but I have only used extensively with Windows and Bitwig DAW sessions. The MacOS WIFI MIDI I tried worked fine with GarageBand and Logic Pro X - no latency I can recall, but I didn't use it extensively over a long session with MacOS. Good luck! ⚡

Yes, but you need access to a mac or Windows PC to configure it beyond factory default settings, which I think is single MIDI channel 1 or MPE if you use side selector switch.
