Have you tested whether you can sideload APKs with any of the alternative file managers (e.g. Google's "Files" app) that you've installed? There's a good chance that adding 3rd party file manager apps won't help since app installation privilege is most likely restricted to a specific android package ID (like "com.android.documentsui") and signing key and only the "factory" Files app is on this "whitelist". Even if for some reason your current OS version doesn't contain such a restriction (which is possible, but would be odd), after the update to the new OS version it might be restricted.

Files app is showing on the android system in the settings, but there is no 'files' app on the app section. Is there any other way to browse the usb files if i can't get the 'files' app to show up?

This was perfect and sorted out my connection, the car wasxexpecting an orange account and the hot-spot selection was outward to devices, not tethering my phone for an inward connection. I hadn't noticed the arrow before but now all is well, Thank you!

Thank you for the video! A little trouble here, Any app i sideload lets me install but does not work while driving (the message saying not allowed while driving pops and the app closes). So spotify, waze, google maps with no android car phone connection does not work.. Any idea what to do?

On the Mégane it normally bleeps to say alarm is off doing it this way how do you know it is deactivated.

Will the alarm be on again the next time you open and lock the door?

i copied all mp3's into the internal storage/Music folder and it just shows as USB storage and plays while unplugged 💀

I found apk for app my tuner radio. Installing is ok but app is not working properly, looks like no permission has given, no intenet acces…

Just change the view behind the steeringwheel again untill the map-view is there again and it will work too, without restarting OpenR ;-)

You can also turn off all alarms like this : Car off. Open the door. Press the door lock button on the dashboard for about 5secs. You will hear lock activate after about 1sec. Then activate again after another few seconds. Exit the car. Close the door. No beeps. Car locked but no alarms. Cheers
