I have always been and remain a supporter of the rights of Jewish people to be free of the anti semitism preached from the earliest days of Chritianity. And of their need of a land of their own. Why did we not carve out a bit of Europe and kick the Christian Europeans out of it? No. The Palestinians were expendable in the eyes of white Europeans, of which I am one. But of a different era. I grew up in the 1950s and 60s in the UK where we not only learned about the Empire, but about its iniquities. I cannot, however, support the current Israeli government and am shocked that so many Israelis cannot see the similarities to Nazi Germany's treatment of their grand parents and great grand parents and what they are doing and have been doing to the Palestinians for years. I might also add that I also abhor Hamas and its desire to anihilate Jews. Its like you are all still living in the bronze age. I do wonder, though, if Hamas or the PLO etc would need to exist without Zionist persecution of the indigenous Palestinians. Nb recent repeated DNA studies show that the average Palestinian is more closely related to the Jews who never left Palestine than most Eurpean incomers. Notably the Ashkenasi. I have long wondered if Palestinians on the whole are the descendants of the ancient farmers of the levant. When the bosses were Jewish, they did as they were told and were Jewish. Then came the Moslem Caliphates. So they became Moslems until the Christian crusaders arrived when many became Christian as they were the powerless producers of food and at best ignored by elites be they Jews, Romans, Arabs or Europeans, they just bent in front of the prevailing winds and changed religion accordingly. Now though they are being mown down.
