Personally I would have put a lovely 'Kime' sofa and a good chair with a table laden with books and flowers on the stage and not three uncomfortable modern chairs. Maybe a screen in one corner, a rug or two ? I couldn't go to the sale but I did buy the catalogue which is an amazing source of information.

But why is he selling his stuff? Does he need money? The chairs are also in a very bad shape, not very typical for an art dealer.

I always become excited when I find one interior presentation that excites me in a plethora of mundane and boring places. It's almost like finding a needle in a haystack to find someone, or an interior that stands out in the crowd, and I've just found it with Manfredi della Gherardesca. 🧚✨💫

I reckon being at this auction would be the event of the year. I can only imagine the level of interest being generated. There will be plenty of avid collectors who would know exactly what is being offered and they will be wanting to get their hands on the yearned-for items at any price. What entertainment. I hope they make an episode for telly about the auction. I think Drew Pritchard - as he often says himself - does have the best job in the world. Huge fan.

A lovely bite sized picture of Messel and his work, his nephew describes it all so well.

Take a moment to hear why Count Manfredi’s children are selling pieces their father owned. They clearly explain their reasoning. Their love and respect for him and his vision is why certain things will be auctioned. One can also say, I believe, his love for his children allows each to choose what they like and enjoy…they then can share with society/ the art world/ collectors etc., a tiny bit of Count Manfredi’s massive collection at the Auction this April.

Recognise so many pieces that ive seen him purchase in Salvage Hunters(Proberly seen every episode), Good luck with the sale.
