Ran my First Marathon Ever - Sanlam Cape Town Marathon - Wasn't What I Expected! + REVIEW
I just finished my first marathon in the mother city for the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon and it didn't go as I had expected it to go. My training went really well and I expected to perform much better, but I couldn't prepare for this.
I travelled all the way to Cape Town from Johannesburg so that I could build up the excitement to do it, and have the pressure to finish it since, well, I'm already there. And I wanted to run in a completely different environment than what I'm used to.
After getting new shoes weeks before, and getting new socks I was prepared for war. They got me far, but my body failed me the more it went. I wish I could explain what happened lol. I was told it was an easy qual...
