    Why does heart failure cause breathlessness

  • @jillbeck1732
    @jillbeck1732 18 часов назад

    I did notice the lack of energy, out of breath after a walk, but don't remember any swelling, weight.gain, or palpitations. Doc couldn't figure it out. One night I felt an elephant on my chest got up and chewed 2 aspirin and went back to bed. Next day I took an EKG which showed nada. Two weeks later I woke up with my upper left arm hurting (from e xerox ise class?), and later that morning, a pain in my chest. My lightning fast mind said it was a heart attack . At ER I walked calmly into reception, and the rest is history. Two stents and heart failure later, I am just finishing my rehab, doing very well!

    Presence of Left ventricle diastolic disfunction but No hypertrophy, No restrictions, No enlarged heart, No thickned walls nor thin walls, No blockages, No EF under 50% but had a chronic heavy menstural bleeding lasting 21 days a month and has a habbit of screen apnea. Will the Diastolic Disfunction be cured or reversed If this habbit of holding breath is controlled?

  • @NightSkySparkles
    @NightSkySparkles День назад

    Does low blood volume affects the diastolic function in Left ventricle? Or the left ventricle alter its diastolic function according to the volume of blood?

There they sit me in a quiet alcove for hours with other sufferers and it drops so low that sometime they say its too low and put me on a drip. But my doctor doesn't really believe me.

    The heart is not the pump it is merely the valve. The pump are the lungs and the mechanical force that keep the pressure is our respiration. If the heart were "responsible" for keeping the pressure in our body, you would feel it much more like when you lift weight and feel your biceps. It amazes me that so many people thinks the heart is the pump and repeats like parrot without even the most basic logic and observational common sense. What does the heart do when it works too much? It enlarges and that is detrimental to health. The heart is a minimal working muscle because it is a valve not a pump.

    I was suddenly hit with all of the symptoms of heart failure during lock down in Wales after a few years of AF. I had no idea what was happening and was at stage 4, I attempted to get an ambulance twice but was denied both times, I couldn't get out of a chair and stand without nearly fainting and palpitations were regular while seated. I also gained weight through water retention quickly and almost reached 30 stone. All of this happened while under a cardiologist and AF nurse who never told me that I was in heart failure, I only found out that I was suffering heart failure when I received a phone call out of the blue from the heart failure team of nurses who just told me that I was going to be out on new medication. I didn't know who they were or what they were talking about because they had assumed that I had been told I was in heart failure and had had it all explained to me. To this day, three or more years on, I've still never had the words 'heart failure' said to me or had it explained. I am certain that this is because I was left in untreated AF for over two years before and over the pandemic which has resulted in heart failure and my university health board might be held liable for negligence of this is the cause. The hospital in question has been in and out of special measures for many years, including the time my AF went untreated. Thank you for this video as it's the first time I've had any of that information explained to me.

A Something inserted to his chest as back up. Doing well. Walks 5 miles a day. Retired aged 71. Feels great. Yet, his EF is only at 35%. Wow. My relative has high blood pressure and now refers to that as her heart failure condition. Eh? 🤔 P.S. Greetings from Scotland. ❤

    I have Chronic Heart Failure due to Marfans syndrome. I have all of these but swelling. Thank you for this information, now I know why I sweat so much. I found exercise to be the answer for me at keeping most symptoms at bay. My doctor tellks me I have trained my body to not have symptoms of this disease. I exercise hard. This year I have logged 2000 miles on my bicycle and I did not start riding this year until the end of Feb. I should also mention I am pushing 70.

    Thanks for the informative video. My mother 64 yrs old was diagnosed with heart failure 3 days back and is in stage 2. She has stiff heart muscle so medications were given to her. Her ejection fraction is 30 percent. Can heart failure be reversed with medications? What is the life expectancy of heart failure patients and will they live long?

    • @TheHeartDoctor
      @TheHeartDoctor 16 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing. Medications can manage the symptoms of heart failure and help to prevent its progression. It would be prudent to discuss issues surrounding life expectancy with the heart failure team looking after your mother as each case is different.

    Hi, Good informative video. Have also heard lot of heart attacks were linked to previous few days of motion sickness and unemptied intestines with fermentation gas formation. These Gases get entrapped inside the heart pump or in the arteries and creates the air trap issue making the heart pump failing to pump, which becomes a heart attack...As per yogic practices, this gas is called Apana vayu and there is always gas attack...Can you pls do some research on this and find the truth ? Thank you.
