So smart. Help the problem save the few u can. You can’t won’t stop it.teachers and students worrying! It’s already there lol don’t be silly
Thank you Marianne for sincerely, courageously and generously sharing such a sacred story with us. You are true example of intentional living of not only desiring but working towards realizing your aspiration. You've gifted us with your inspiring/motivating life story. Thanks MQI for your support services.
The Supervised Injection Center will hopefully be seen in the future as a positive initiative that will help a lot of people. It is also an evidence-based project which means that nobody who has been served by a SIC had died or become medically weaker. In fact, the centers have been a gateway to further medical treatment for the substance user and even abstinence. It is even a win-win for the local community and the public but explaining that would take more writing than a comments section allows.
Marianne's story is very brave. She speaks openly and honestly about her experience. Most importantly she has achieved 2 years of abstinence. The credit goes primarily to Marianne but she also stated that MQI was important in that success. She also raises an issue that is a great challenge for those who are addicted to a substance - shame and stigma from the public. This causes a lot of harm and zero good. We still have much work to do in winning public support and understanding that shaming people with substance use problems makes recovery harder.
AKA JUNKIEVILLE. AND A COMPLE SCAM CHARITY
RTE
A lot of homeless charities are scams and exploit homeless people for their benefit. It's more a business to them than a actual charity. A lot of money that people donate goes towards administration and staff wages 💯. I will give this charity the benefit of the doubt as long as people are doing something for the right reasons with kindness and compassion towards others then that's all that matters. You never will know when the shoe will be on the other foot 💯 one should never abuse or exploit the vunerable just because they can. A lot of people that go into homeless facilities will be encountering people and environments that they've never experienced before. Bullying isolating and humiliating is often something that new people experience going into a environment like that from people that have been there for a while. This can be very scary to new people especially if you don't have addiction or mental health issues.💯 This is something that's often over looked or not talked about in homeless facilities. Education and up skilling within the staff can help with first understanding and than dealing with these situations and not making them worse. It's okay to have mental health issues criminal records and addictions issues it's not okay to bully isolate or intimadate anyone.
Thanks for ALWAYS been there.. much appreciated.. F,xx
Great work MQ Ireland
Amazing team you are all guys really Inspiring 👏
The best insight into homelessness was a documentary made by RTE for radio back in the 70s. The theme of the program was the volunteers and the people they looked after. The conditions were horrendous for the homeless back then. The service was provided by the Simon Community in a run down building no heating broken windows from a building control on Ellis Quay , there were no one and no where else them days. Its bleek but well worth watching. I'm a witness, I lived beside this hovel and watched it unfold to what it is today. Bleakest /60s /70s/80s Dublin. 😱
the irish are coooooooooooooool
The let u go to sleep at 12 am on a mat that i wudnt give to my dog then woke.up at 6.30 then fuckdd outside for a half hour rain wind or snow
Great staff my ass do u call them great staff wen u have one of them.ringing a hard man in a audi to put one of there homeless people into a boot of a card ??? Well no they aint great there all nice on camera
Dylan power what have You done for the homeless or are you Just taking shit because you hate Addict's
I was in mq and I woudn wish it on me worst enemy hope the people in this video found some were they can call home.
Ye I no wot ye meen😀
Derek was my mental health worker when I was in Dublin he's an amazing 👦 guy very helpful
I have been a person who’s been in these facilities and built relationships with people here they provide a great service and a lot more people need to be aware of the homeless crisis
Watching this brought me to tears & my heart is broken. It's not acceptable anymore that the government aren't doing more to help out & have many more places opened up like it in several other counties across Ireland. They've no problem giving themselves big fat increase in wages & literally toss the most vulnerable in Society into the drain. Here we are in 2021 & this still exists. There's the part of the video where Lynda Murtagh was speaking that several people may not get a Bed for the night, then another part showing thin mattresses on a floor where people sleep, this is absolutely disgraceful & shocking. Every single person in Ireland has a Constitutional Right to have their Basic needs met. Why aren't people getting it ?
Amazing Service Amazing people. Kindness costs nothing but means everything!! keep up the great work
How do you donate or can u walk in and give cash God help these souls the staff and the homeless 🤗🤗
DARREN CODD YES YOU CAN JUST ASK ONE OF THEY STAFF MEMBERS GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR KIND HEART❤💝💛
@@margaretburke8788 hi Margaret is there a num I can ring
You cant drink yourself stupid and be a homeowner - get a job get a mortgage be happy!
NO Pal, homelessness is a national problem, requiring a national solution. Any city that tries it on their own will get buried. A field of dreams.
If the government had a fraction of the commitment these people working for MQ have we wouldn't have a homeless crisis like the one we have today. Great video and T.you to all the staff for doing such a good job, i would hate to see what it would be like for the homeless if you didn't exist you make a huge difference, i hope your proud of yourselves.
MQI do such important work for those that our society has forgotten. We cannot thank you enough
Very moving. MQI do such important work.
