It's got the best climate in Canada. All of which you have said also applies to Hamilton. We also have over 100 waterfalls and 13 canyons right through the middle of the city. We also have our vineyards and peach orchards. WE also have our wonderful waterfront trails and rail trails all along our escarpment. Our best thing is our perfect location right in the middle of everything - one hour to Toronto or Niagara Falls or Lake Erie and their wonderful beaches.

Moved the family to Windsor in 2022. My favourite thing is probably the weather. We can go for a walk any time of year. The mild winter is a sigh of relief. And in the summer you don't need some vacation to get a tan on the beach - just head out - it gets really hot! And the summer isn't so darn short, it's like 6 extra weeks down here. Spring is humid so it's actually kinda a cold that sticks to you, but again, mild weather. Fall is beautiful (like everywhere in the northeast). Second favourite is being a border town - going to the U.S. isn't a big trip to plan, it's right there. That allows access to entertainment, airport, Detroit mailbox, etc. Third is probably that Windsor is (culturally) small town in some (limiting) ways but the flip side is there is sanity and decency here... This isn't a huge city where there is no accountability and people are awful to each other all the time. Don't get me wrong, if you can't stomach some blue collar vibes and some U.S. vibes this isn't for you... This area is a cross roads of a variety of North American culture, and the simplicity of Midwest U.S. culture mixed with Ontario culture is refreshing compared to elsewhere else in Ontario IMO. (even better than other border areas like Niagara) Lastly, I am a license plate collector so I love seeing plates from all over who are crossing here. I have literally seen Nunavut and Hawaii and many in-between. The parks in Windsor are great for kids. Windsor is a little behind the times but honestly I think there are as many pros to that as cons

I lived in Walkerville, 1500 block on Windermere, back in the late 80s. Never had any issues. Would like to retire in the Windsor area, maybe Amherstburg. Are the winters still as mild as they were? Getting tired of winters here in the Stratford area.

I live just outside of Windsor in the Leamington/Kingsville area and my hubby and I went to a Pistons/Raptors game in Detroit recently, it took us about 45 mins to get from our house across the border and to the little Caesar's arena; That's less time than it would have taken us to drive from Oshawa(where we lived before) to downtown Toronto to watch the game in Toronto(because of traffic). And even with the exchange rates our tickets to see the game were cheaper than the nosebleed seats in Toronto for a Pistons/Raptors game; and we had VERY good seats. And Yes, for sure the weather is much more tolerable here. We watched a lot of your videos when we were looking for our home and I'm glad we did. Thanks for your content Ryan.

You missed the best part. Detroit is just minutes away. Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, concerts, theatres, great shopping etc. All this while living in a much lower cost area with much less crime.

Moved to Windsor as a teenager and lived here since 2007 from United States as an American 🇺🇸. Windsor now has LITERALLY become my second home living here for more than 17 years. I have now lived here more than half my life at the age of 34 lol and I finally became a Canadian Citizen this year this past summer. I Love Windsor and can honestly call it my HOME!!!❤️Thanks Ryan! I agree with most of the points here. I am a native Torontonian who now lives in Windsor part time. The restaurant scene in my experience is just ok. Pizza is good. Weather is DEFINATELY warmer and sunnier. But the restaurant scene on the low end is in no way comparable to Toronto. South Etobicoke, Spadina Chinatown and even spots in Mississauga have better restaurants than Windsor. Bar culture is generally depressing with alot of day drinkers who are just really mysogynistic. Its not a good city if you are a gay male. But it is improving and it is under rated in very many of the ways you describe. I can tell you are enthusiastic about the region as I am. I punches above its weight for sure.

The question the mortgage broker asked is a legit question. Some municipalities are not welcoming to some types. As someone who has moved from the GTA to Amherstburg recently, Windsor is a lot friendlier than the GTA

Companies in Canada are now asking people to come to office at least thrice a week. With most offices in GTA makes Windsor and other remote areas challenging for commute.

Not to mention Michigan only has 6% sales tax. Fuel is also cheaper there. Pro tip - take the tunnel as it is cheaper than the bridge. If you have to take the bridge, at least fill up at the Duty Free before crossing back into Windsor.

purchased a 3m house in Amherstburg in the summer, laSalle and Amherstburg have some beautiful luxury homes.

As a Windsorite-the nasty photos shown of may flies are not common to see. In fact I’ve never seen something like this in the city. In the surrounding rural areas they’re worse. 4:09 YOU’RE BEING OVER DRAMATIC. LOL the humidity does such, you’re not being dramatic. I hate the humidity. 33 in Windsor vs. 33 in Mexico -it’s a worse 33 in Windsor. It’s not even the temp, heat without humidity is easier to breathe in. The humidity makes you feel more fatigued because you’re breathing in more water. When I was a kid, we had good cold winters here. We could skate on outdoor ice that froze over. Last year no ice was able to freeze sufficiently to skate on outdoors all winter. Most of North west Windsor is below the water table. Flooding is guaranteed at some point in many of these areas.
