Nice vid. Based off the accent I’m guessing Appleton / somewhere around Bago.
You didnt like the china made cooler but it was built better then the US made cooler? Lol😂😅
very nice teacher
Great video. On a 93 W250, auto to 5600 swap, what does it take to make the speedometer work? Thanks
@@wardculver5376 it takes that reading off the transfer case. The auto trans uses a 23 spline output while the g360 and nv5600 use a 29 spline. There may be an adapter but I don't remember who has it. Back to your question as long as the wires reach and you use a factory style tcase it should be good to plug in and go.
Neat
Thanks for the quick and simple explanation man. This saved me a ton of time and money.
my 01 caught fire and I'm currently cutting out all the burned/melted wiring, new/used oil reservoir etc. I thought it was the oil reservoir, but now I'm wondering if this was the root cause that then spread to the oil reservoir.......... ugh. Something else to check.
Yup! Had a buddy do this few years back on his Polaris Indy . He had no idea what the hell happened but I said 100% was the brake system
You're doing a good job by the way.
That 20,000 base gasket will raise the ports significantly but unless the heads are cut an equivalent amount, your compression is going to be too low and performance and starting will suffer.
Haha, death machines for the win!
Quick question for you Mac. Is it possible to do the clutch side crank seal without splitting the case?
Where are pumps located
You have a left and a right bank on V6 and V8 engines. Cylinder 1 is your first bank depending on manufacturer.
Website?
Thanks for these quick and to the point tips for us newbie 'used sled' owners. No blah, blah, blah. I might have my local powersports shop go through my 96 Touring E, and 99 Formula DLX Ski-Doo's that I bought last year. Both are 380 Rotax fan cooled. I haven't done much for them in the form of maintenence, because both seem to run well, and they're only used in our farm fields and woods. I did put new air filters in them, cleaned the engine bays of leaves and debris, and checked their chain case oil. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video! I was in the same situation with no special tools with the same kit!
What can be done about heavy pitting?
@DESERTHAWKIN if you can get the corrosion out pretty well.... bead sealer fills in and helps the seal. If you are in an area corrosion is common it will probably last a year or two then need cleaned up and resealed. You next option is really replacement. Some places push for replacement but where I'm at that would mean replacing wheels almost every time you need tires.
I was wondering if you could offer me some assistance I’m rebuilding a Rotax 277 snow sled engine and I took the top ring off the old piston, but I wasn’t paying attention to its orientation. When I go to put the new ring on the top of the new piston I’m trying to determine what side of the ring goes up and what side goes down. One side of the ring is flat. The other side has a lip. Is it possible you could tell me which side goes up is d which side goes down? Thank you very much.
Going through all that work and putting in a used chain is straight up stupid. that chain dropping in like that means that it was totally worn and should’ve been discarded
You would really hate to see the transmission and front drive shaft.
How? Was it towed behind an RV?
Great video, only thing I'd add would be letting the viewer know that the left bank and right bank of the engine are labeled when viewing the engine from the rear.
pontiac numbers the same as the rest of gm but the passenger bank is the most forward so the crank numbering does not hold up
Mine has bearings, a rear seal and other parts besides the couple of bits at the very end!
I drove my lb7 for 13 years with it periodically weeping coolant, sometimes a lot then it it might not leak for months, then a small leak, then nothing for weeks or monthskk, then could be a good amount a year or so later. Leaking a little, a lot and nothing oʻpfor months to a year or so. I paid attention to it, so it never went without coolant. This little issue went on for nearly 13 years when she decided weeping wasn't enough and full on drain out the weep hole occurred and I had to replace the water pump, which I am still crossing my fingers I put everything back together properly, 🤞. It was the most difficult water pump replacement I had done to date.
We have not had a great experience with the Baja Boss in WY winters. Love them (!!!) as a three season tire, but dedicated winter tires are now on my rig.
Any other all terrain tires that you find perform better in the winter than the Baja Boss? I've had Duratracs and KO2s.
@ the Falken Wildpeak st3 was great for me. I used them as a winter tire. It didn’t seem aggressive enough for me to keep on during the summer but they were a really good winter tire
@@chrisbolling945 thanks. Wildpeaks used to be priced fair in Ontario here but after COVID they got popular and became one of the priciest tires so I bought Duratracs instead.
I got 3333.10
I have trouble with my dash gauges not working. What do you think it may be?
Its like the rubber chicken dog toy sound.
Sounds like the cam chain needs to be tightened👀
how’s it holding up?
Hey Mac really appreciate the content
Thank you so much man
You're the only one I know of besides myself that know this trick! It does certainly help a lot with helping guide the input shaft.
You don't need the hole, just blow the air past the end of the tube. Works the same.
Desert anitb
Bye😂
Love that 6.0 motor
I never tried these but when I ran hotshot I went through many tires. My favorite in snow were the toyo open country CT.
thanks for reviewing these
I'm replacing the pump on my 05 5.3L. One question after watching your description of the pressure relief valve ratings. If they are designed to open at 20psi, then why do many (good) engines idle at 40, or reach even higher at higher throttle? Why doesn't the open relief valve hold the pressure at a steady 20 psi at all times?
@talentsfaith6641 it's all about the leakage. The pump produces more volume than can be dumped from the relief port. The looser the engine the more oil is lost through the bearing areas which the allows the pressure relief in the pump to actually control pressure at the relief point. Hopefully that makes sense.
Tx you saved me the annoyance of getting the length then running to the parts store
Muchas gracias mi amigo, valiosa información. Benjamin Herrera desde Venezuela.
Great video! Question: what is the thread size for the 90° elbow connector supplied with the HV5902 please? The part that screws into the block is 3/4 male, but I'm unsure about the other side (female), having an inner diamter of 19mm... (slightly larger than 3/4). I just got mine delivered, but still need to order hoses & couplings. Probably its a common size for hydraulic hoses in the US... but I'm from Europe...
I'm gonna have to replace mine on my 06 Silverado, I ain't got what they are asking to replace so RUclips and manuals nad self education...pray for me.
Thanks for the video, been pulling my hair out looking for it on my 89 v 3500, most videos say it’s under the glove box area, it’s not.
