Awesome scene! Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth ftw!!!
Прикиньте если бы они были реально воинами и это был реальный поединок, насколько быстро проиграла бы девушка😅
Reading the books now, I can’t believe I ever liked this show.
This is the last time Jaime carried a sword with both hands😢
0:48: Love this moment where he turns his back for a second just to see if she'll drop her guard.
Brienne walking him down one handed like a boss
0:23 *argh!*
Jaime: "You move well..." Brienne: Immediately crosses her feet.
Can you imagine if they just did this today instead of hiding behind their gun crap like cowards like they do now ? Both parties would be so exhausted from the sword fight they wouldn't want to do the crimes again lol
In the old world, crime was more brutal though. Because men of law were much scarcer, government didn't have the means to arm, train and regulate that big a force, so criminals were known to run through whole territories, doing much more violent shit than today. But, wars themselves were less brutal, paradoxically.
Pessimo!
ngl this some crazy plot armour, jamie top 4 all time behind dayne, selmy, and blackfyre
I always LMAO with that posture 2:28 hahahah totally owned
Why was he fighting her even though she was taking him to kingslanding?
It's not exactly portrayed well, in the book Jaime and Brienne had one of Jaime's cousins, who died in a quarrel with some raiders or something Jaime was malnourished for months, left to rot in a damp dungeon, and was too irritated by Brienne. Half by her dumb attitude, half because she reminded him of his own youth, times when he lived for chivalry, knightly duty and honor. Brienne's humourless, solemn attitude was too annoying for him, and he was kept in chains so he tried to just kill her somehow maim her to get rid of her . It's purely out of Jaime's own pride that they ended up captured. Also, he is some superswordsman in the books, even at his pathetic physical condition, he was almost too much for Brienne, actually managed to slash her leg, cornered her back at a tree a couple of times but he was just not in good condition, and Brienne, knowing she'll not win this by normal means, just jumped on him, brought him down with her weight and started to drown him in the river to force him to yield. Which Jaime was still refusing out of spite.
@subutaynoyan5372 Thanks, makes more sense now
He's an evil prick.
god dammit its so hard watching this show again, it used to be so good. but all I can think about is how bad the ending was
Soon after, Jamie gets given to the people who treat him worse, and cut off his hand.
That sword must've been very sharp for it to cut his rope in one swing.
2:18 the way she just walks Jaime down lmao Brienne's a beast
So Jon Snow gets to be revived from the dead. But jamie can't have his hand regrown? Kinda lame george
It's still not clear what'll happen to him. In the books he was regaining his fighting attitude with his left hand slowly, but still had some way to go to regain his old form. Everything felt off, weird with his left hand. But there's the infamous Qhorin Halfhand in the books, supposedly learned to fight with his left and became better than ever OR, a red priest, maybe Melisandre or Moqorro will restore his arm. They certainly have the means and power for it
Honestly I'll give jamie the benefit of doubt Because his Wrist Are in chains Even though he had mobility But he lacked flexibility Because he couldn't move Both his hands separately, so he couldn't perform any defense surprise attacks, Because of that reason he lost this fight.
Or maybe he's not that good.
This scene was always weird to me. In the books Jamie was described as a God with a sword. This fight in the books, took looooong time and Brienne was on her maximum focus constantly, being amazed how a prisoner of a year, starved, and diminished could push her to her absolute limits. From the way they fought she could feel she wouldn't stand a chance if he wasn't kept in cage for a year. She still got the better of him of course but i was "one false move and dead" kinda fight. The fight in this scene is not even a pale shadow in comparison and does a tremendous disservice to Jamie, and honestly Brienne since she doesn't get to contend with a proper challenge.
And she didn't overwhelm him with sword either, as I remember, she just lunged at him, brought his face under the river's surface to make him yield, he was still childishly refusing, saying "You kill me and you'll be me"
Every 20 feet in this franchise you bump into "one of the greatest swordsmen in Westeros" and, surprise, turns out they're usually not really that good. Most knights are frauds, and the stories about them are useful bullshit.
She's not yelling before every swing, so that's nice
soo...Brienne defeat Jamie(yea yeah...malnourished and all of that)...mm..ok...remember when Arya in few seconds surprise Brienne with knife?..
This is a pretty good demarcation point for when the show went downhill. Damn those first two seasons were good, but by season three we started to lose it :(
In the books Jamie almost kills her and it's only because he's handcuffed and exhausted she beats him. They never really show how good Jaime is in the TV series think slightly less skilled than Arthur dayne by fraction
A silly but a very consequential fight. Brought forth Jamie Lannister, the nice guy !
Mais uma derrota para o superestimado Jamie
Then the fucking Bolton soldiers turn up the c***s
"Tells her not to grimace before she lunges, but he also grimaces" Did you not see the state the man is in? You could see even in the fight he was moving sluggish, he was not in good condition so obviously he us gonna grimace because he is exerting more power from his malnourished body.
Nice scene and all, but Brienne was clad in plate from neck to toe. That absolutely makes a difference. After all, this is the same show that gave us the fight between Ser Jorah and Qotho, in which the two-handed strikes of a Dothraki arakh did fuck all to the Westerosi knight. In the same vein, Brienne here should be able to parry Jaime’s attacks with her arms. As long as she’d protect her face, she would be a-okay. I’d appreciate a fight scene that would take this into account, show us some of that famed best swordsmanship as Jaime would have to work around this. Also, let’s face it, Brienne really only carried around two swords so this scene could happen 🙂
how the fuck was this 11 years ago already,
In the book she admitted in her own mind that she struggled even with his hands bound. She said that no man in Westeros could have stopped him at his full potential.
As someone who knows a little about how to actually use a sword, it's always amusing watching these characters who are supposed to be incredibly skilled warriors fight like children play-fighting with sticks
Totally didn’t live up to his legend
She beat that ass
I like these two characters best series ever
They did Jaime wrong here. He should have almost beat her
It makes me feel physically sick how we went from scenes like this to what we got.
If Jaime hadn’t pulled that stunt he might have kept his hand
Sadly, this fight scene was better than any fight scene in the last season. Terrible shame what they did in the end, but the first... 4? Seasons were incredible.
If you watch closely you see Brienne spin revealing her backside to Jamie leaving him the perfect chance to slice the back of her legs and ending the fight. I dont truly believe he wanted to truly harm her
En buenas condiciones Jamie la habría derrotado
he sounds like an oblivion guard when he first takes her sword
GOTTA GOTTA GOTTA have ser Duncan in her blood.
For all Jaime's talk Brienne knew she didn't have to actually hurt him, she simply had more stamina and just had to wait for the petulant noble to tire.
Who the hell is grimace
Grimace means to have a serious and stern look on your face
Brienne had a grimace look on her face before she would launch, that’s what Jaime was telling her
This video is a perfect representation of her fighting style. She has insane defence until she wears down your energy, and then she goes on the total offense.
He says “I never understood why knights feel the need to carry two swords” he’s carrying two in season 1 when he fights Ned Stark lol
Imagine, if Jaime would have shut up and just silently walked, he would have kept his hand. Couldn't keep it that way. Needed to do trouble.
For all the pumping up of Jaime's sword fighting skills we get from the book readers, the show made him seem quite average. Even against Ned he didn't seem all that elite.
In the books, the point is clear: Brienne won the duel... but only because Jaime had been rotting in a damp prison for half a year, underfed and chained to a wall. He was weak and fatigued, not really in shape to be swinging a sword around... and yet he still held his own against her. Brienne herself even remark on how skillful Jaime is and she does acknowledge that she only won because Jaime's hands were bound and he'd been a prisoner for so long. In A Feast for Crows she thinks: *Brienne remembered her fight with Jaime Lannister in the woods. It had been all that she could do to keep his blade at bay. He was weak from his imprisonment, and chained at the wrists. No knight in the Seven Kingdoms could have stood against him at his full strength, with no chains to hamper him. Jaime had done many wicked things, but the man could fight! His maiming had been monstrously cruel. It was one thing to slay a lion, another to hack his paw off and leave him broken and bewildered.* So, Brienne can fight very well, but Jaime was just something else. Don't let this scene fool you.
Джейме придурок, из-за своец тупости попал в плен и лишился руки
