      Great question! While traditional red beans and rice primarily features the beans and rice, the addition of sausage is a common twist in New Orleans cuisine. It brings extra flavor and heartiness to the dish. Historically, it was often made with leftover meats, and sausage became a staple for its rich taste.     Great How-To video! If any viewer hasn't had a fried soft shell crab they are sure missing out, I guarantee! You have an authentic N'awlins cooking style.....just need the beer to drink !! Anyone who hasn't had an egg not cooperate after being cracked hasn't done much cooking !! I like Crystal Hot Sauce the best. It's made by Baumer Foods Inc. who moved production from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 upriver to Reserve, Louisiana. Their headquarters is in Metairie, LA. They make many other sauces as well such as Soy, Teriyaki, Worcestershire, etc. that you may want to try out in some of your videos as lagniappe to the viewers.

    Anyone who comes across this throw the grits away and make your own. These smell and taste like literal vomit. I’m not a troll and I’m not trying to mess with anyone. I forgot this and made them last night and as soon as the grits start cooking: vomit smell. I would’ve swore they contained butyric acid but they don’t so idk why they smell and taste this way but gross. The shrimp mix with Worcestershire sauce is delish tho, just put it on your own grits.

    Why are mentioning creole when making red beans and rice. I guess if you put tomatoes in the red beans, you can call it creole. I've never used tomatoes when I make red beans and rice. I use the holt trinity, garlic and time. I may add cayane I will use both smoked sausage and andouille and throw in ham as well.

      Red BEANS AND RICE is not a one-pot dish and the protein is usually placed on the side. However, if you have link sausage in the Red Beans and Rice it can be a one-pot dish. It could go both ways if you add tomato paste to the red beans. Thanks for the comment, Have a great day.
