Wingsuit Empuriabrava
Добавлен 15 мар 2010
Life's journey is not to arrive at your grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY SHIT....WHAT A RIDE!"

AFF Course in less than two days!

Long video of AFF student Alexis passing his course in a day and a half at Skydive Empuriabrava with James. Eight levels of the course in a very short timespan; the Belgian military prepared this guy for me perfectly!

Damien passing his Accelerated Free Fall course over two days in November with James Stancomb, Raph Coudray and Mike Lamy who was gaining some experience as a newly qualified AFF instructor. I love my job, getting to do this when I'm not flying wingsuits!

Some Acro barrel rolls and front loops thrown in but mostly enjoying the breathtaking views over the bay of Roses and surrounding mountains. Music is by Blink 182 and Ladyhawke not by me.

Speed flying our wings at Harting Down Mark's footage
Hell yeah bro
Two days???
one day of ground school and 15 mins in the wind tunnel then two days of jumping.
What happens if you fail a level? Pay for a redo? Can it be done in the same day? How often do people fail a level ?
If a repeat of a level is necessary to progress then yes it has to be paid for. I have to say this is less common these days since we introduced tunnel training into the AFF plus syllabus. A repeat can be done on the same day, generally after more ground training or even a few extra minutes in the wind tunnel depending on what the issue was with the original jump.
@@foxtrotzeroalpha thanks for the response! Where is your DZ located ? Looks like a blast
@@birdman007 skydive Empuriabrava in Spain close to the border with France.
@@foxtrotzeroalpha wow no way. I’m actually moving to Spain in September so if I have my license by then I’ll definitely come by and get a jump in!!!
I wish I could be this stable during my training jumps
The student was a natural!
That dude did VERY well!
I am so jealous. I wish I could afford this sport.
5:24 deployed at 12000 ft ?
Altimeter of Mikey is in meters, 1200 meters.
2:01 sick shot of the plane!
What camera and or image stabilization was used in these footages? They're incredibly stable!
All new go pro comes with stabilization
Not as stable as that student tho.
Well done sir! You were so stable and chill.
Seriously Awesome AFF! Reminds me I need to complete mine! :( Blue skies
Great Job, Cheers from Quebec, Canada
Who taught him to shake his head right and left before waving and pull!? It made me think that he is complaining about something 😂
Hi Asser, we use the head shake as a signal to say "no more exercises" just prior to the wave off and pull.
@@foxtrotzeroalpha Thanks for explaining I finished my AFF month ago and done few solo but they never told us to shake the head before waving. probably different style of teaching. You did a great job and very smooth learning :) Blue Skies brother
Great place top instructors at Empuria, I loved it. Well done 👍
2:00 a plane flew past pretty close?
Rob Allan not so close, the pilot knew exactly where we were.
And also looked very cool on video<D
Cool video lads very well done
Thank you so much Empuriabrava and James for using my track! Big up 🤙 absolutely love the video too!
This was so much fun! The organization, planes, pilots, manifest, packers, jumpers were all excellent. Thanks for hosting and putting this together. I learned a lot, made new friends and had an absolute BLAST learning how to fly my wingsuit better.
I'm training to get fit enough to do a static line. I was a trainee British Paratrooper. Or "Para". But I fell ill and had to withdraw from Training. I didn't get to jump. So I'm gonna complete my training as a Civi. Lol. My uncle & Dad were Paratroopers for years. So it's in the blood.
Gloves might be a good idea lol. What was wind if any?
Most launch points are BHPA club run so they stipulate membership and insurance through them. National Parks have local regulation depending on wildlife etc, best to research each one independently. Join Speedfly Junkies on Facebook, there's a pretty comprehensive map of launch points and chat with guys who've flown them Dan Sidoli runs the group and he's got loads of experience. Bear in mind hill and mountain tops aren't the easiest places to monitor, regulation is there to stop accidents. ;-)
cool video! what is the legal situation with flying in the UK, do you need paragliding qualifcation? What about in national parks? Thanks!
I salut you Brothers!
Canopy is a sabre2 150 and gauging my exit weight at about 13.5 stone, wing loading it at 1.26 ...not drastic :-)
There are usually a few wingsuiters at Empuria, Nethers and Sibson are also good and Headcorn is getting more and more flockers.
nice video :) have you been wingsuiting alot at Empuriabrava? Thinking of going there in a few weeks, just got a new WS so would like to go to a dz where there are wingsuiters on a regular basis.
Awesome. They all looked like pretty damn good exits to my inexperienced eye
It's a fun video - my g/f heard me LOL'ing at the exit at 2:14 and the lets call it a "positive dock" at 2.39 and came into watch it. She thought it was a great vid too:) Got quite a few ws jumps under my belt now - you'd be more than welcome at the Tilflock :)
Cheers Cat. Loads of my vids are posted so the B licence guys & gals get some footage of themselves jumping and aren't necessarily geared towards the general public as an audience. Harsh to be disliked for it though. Blue skies & student friendly winds. Hear from another birdy you're starting to wingsuit as well...brilliant. Have to flock up at some point.
Ace vid. Thanks for posting it :)
Does the dislike button mean "I'm illiterate and cannot read a title or description". Less than 12 hours for a dislike is my personal record, woohoo! Might be nice to know why though.
Thanks, old video this one, loads of recent videos to watch on my channel too. Wingsuit flights and plenty of funjumping carnage.
Nice guys, had a dream about chuting out of a helicopter... But thiss looks great too... Now I really wanna go... Nice upload yall. mm TN, USA
Thx James, am very aware of the progression and requirements. I am aiming to become proficient in wingsuiting within the next 3 years. Just to stay on the safe side. Am reading up on everything skydiving, basejumping and wing at the moment. Will be in touch as soon as feasible. Greetins, Andreas
No probs Mark, FB James Stancomb, or go direct to the horse's mouth and contact Skydive Headcorn near Maidstone 0n 01622 804666 Wingsuiting is a bit of a longwinded thing to get into as you need to have done 200 jumps in 18 months or 500 total before anyone will start your training; it's a BPA stipulation...so basically law in the UK.
Thx. Finishing my paragliding license in the Alps this summer. Speed flying in UK mostly due to living in London. Any way I could contact you regarding skydiving and wingsuit flying? Am looking for the best way in. Maybe an intensive skydiving course abroad (Italy, Spain, Florida). Any thoughts, let me know.
Nearest village is South Harting Mark, not flown Fulking yet; have been busy learning to wingsuit lately and trying to get people through their FS qualifications before the summer.
Hey there, what's the closest village? And did you ever fly Fulking Hill ?
It's very addictive...see you at the dropzone!
Cheers for your comment. Nothing majorly rad going on though, do you jump or is it all BMX?
I remember doing static line jumps at headcorn with Andy Kelly throwing us out, top bloke, RIP.
Fly Fly Fly :-)
There's a pretty easy rule of thumb for situations like this: Don't fly!
