this is real good when paired with cleaving moonlight's consecutive use spec and gaia crash attack speed spec.
try hitting 50%++ you will feel the most satisfaying guilotine, also there are extra 30% attspd buff from davinci and frost cleave, my gs dagger can reach 87%-90% attspd with buffs
whats your build like
May I ask why the Skill damage increase is a lower percent increase than the critical damage? 250-355 is a 42% increase in skill damage. While the Critical damage goes from 18 - 32 which is a 77.778% increase. At first I thought that maybe 250 to 355 would be the exchange of a single piece of gear but all of the gear I have with it shows an 80 point increase so even if you did two the number should be 410. I am decently new to this game though but when looking at the increase it makes the numbers a little hard to compare exactly how different they are. Though my natural instincts would tell me that 445 skill damage boost would be a bit more accurate in point for point increase based on your original increases. Again though very new and just wanted to ask
The difference in percentage increase between Skill Damage Boost and Critical Damage comes down to how these stats scale and interact with the base damage. Skill Damage Boost (SDB): While the numbers look like a flat increase (e.g., 250 to 355 is a 42% increase), the actual damage increase becomes less efficient due to diminishing returns. This is because higher SDB values have progressively smaller impacts on your final damage, as stated in the game’s tooltip. Going up to 445 SDB would show even greater diminishing returns compared to 355, making each additional point less impactful. Critical Damage: The scaling for % Critical Damage is more linear because it directly multiplies the damage dealt on critical hits. In our data, the jump from 18% to 32% (a 77.78% increase) directly translates to higher overall damage boosts since Critical Damage doesn't face diminishing returns in the same way SDB does. Your instinct about testing higher SDB values (e.g., 445) is understandable. In our data, we kept the SDB to practical values based on common gear setups, which might explain the difference you’re noticing.
@ okay thanks for the explanation. The last paragraph answered the biggest question I have but the additional information was nice to have. Thank you
So, using skill damage boost on runes wo cd staking is practically useless 😂
Bro what items and sets are you using for critical damage? I just notice I have 0 for crit damage. Please list items here thank you!
Nice content bro, is there any point at SDB that don't worth to invest? I always try new ways to improve the dmg of my dps with healer buffs, but now I'm in doubt if it's good ideia to still using SDB buff on 1 dps instead debuffing the boss to everyone
Cool video, make more tests with hevy attack to understand what is better to prioritize the weapon, where hevy will be extra or Skill damage boost
what a point to make a video about compare stats which just make each other better and not overlap each other. You getting this stats from different sources and you don't have any ability to get CD stat instead of SDB and opposite... so you will get both of them ant way. question is what is soft cap for SDB, and i even can give you a answer of this its around 550 SDB, after this %% increase to damage drops from original 10-15 SDB = 1% boost to 25-30 = 1% SO you don't need do all your math. You welcome :)
Were forgetting something here crit vs endurance. skill damage boost forgoes it skill damage for the one
Also skill damage resist rolls with skill damage boost. Crits don't even work on fortitude builds so at least your getting some damage this way.
its seems no difference, but trust me in pvp its huge. especially for non casting skills, the animation is fast
Thank you so much for the breakdown. but could you please choose a skill that doesn't already have a 120% damage multiplier vs monsters. Supposedly the training dummies are considered monster types? Not sure when the 120% multiplier is applied before or after other modifiers.
do next time about (high) min damage vs (high) max damage... do 20 hits and put the lowest damage and highest damage, and their average.
Very good video, it would be good to have a heavy attack and see its scaling.
can u do how important Skill Damage Resistance? nice video tho!
Thank you
Congrats on the milestone! I appreciate how concise these are, would love to see an endurance video :D
How are you getting your Skill boost & Critical dmg boost that high? Would be nice to see which items It is. My skill dmg boost is barely: 383.4 no idea how you are doubling that, can't see any items that increase it beyond what Accessory traits do. Critical dmg boost: 14% (2x Shadow) Really want to increase it so I can pump higher damage, so far my highest hit was 138,000 on T15 Gaitan.
Yea i was wondering the same how he got his crit damage boost up so high outside of using the 2x shadow
I was thinking for GS/Spear that I would build crit chance over crit damage since the baseline crit on this combination is so LOW (Roughly 1030~) to begin with. Forgoing the 14% critical damage from Shadow Harvester (Max Achievable) when mainhanding the greatsword (Main-handed to achieve 790.8 heavy attack chance with Sentinel's Bastion, and higher with the non-team spec assuming you have ads around you), and building an extra 213 crit chance via: - Divine Justicar Legs/Helm - Field General Gauntlets/Boots - Swirling Essence Robe - Supreme Devotion - 1243 Crit Chance/588 Base Heavy Attack/0% Crit Damage This MAY result in more consistent critical hits across the board and therefore DPS, since crits would be firing more frequently. I could be wrong, but that 14% as a maximum is definitely hindering the duo when compared to a 40% achievable crit damage with GS/Dagger. The other alternative (Probably THE meta combination) would be: - Shadow Harvester Mask/Boots - Swirling Essence Robe - Field General Gauntlets/Legs - Supreme Devotion - 1030 Crit Chance/588 Base Heavy Attack/14% Crit Damage Either combination allows for 50 str/70dex/40 per, with varying wisdom. In either case, the maximum Skill Damage Boost with GS/Spear remains around ~315-320. TL;DR: It's much easier to aim for high crit damage with anything paired with Daggers or even Longbow, since their masteries give extra crit damage to start with, but virtually impossible for other weapon combinations to go above that 14% threshold from Shadow Harvester's (Skill specializations aside such as Cyclonic Fury's crit damage boost).
Greatsword + Spear is a solid combination, especially if it complements your playstyle. This setup works well for players who prefer staying on the frontlines with a decent HP pool. It offers strong heavy attacks and crit damage potential while maintaining a consistent proc rate of crit chance through the spear's passive ability. On the other hand, Greatsword + Dagger focuses more on burst damage. The playstyle revolves around quickly dealing massive crit damage to an opponent and then disengaging if necessary Quick note: Gs skill = 32% critD Dagger skill= 40% critD.
what are the ways can you increase you critical damage?
Currently, a 2 set of items and a specific weapon class.
One thing to consider, sk dmg increases all damage leading to overall total dmg. Crit only increases critical hits. So def a mixture is best, especially for the boost to non crit hits.
Glad you keept your promise to include small excel tabels :D really help with the clarity when comparing from the viewing site! keep up the great content. Maybe its a bit harder to do, but my video suggestion would be the "interaction between cc chances (stun/collision/sleep) vs evasion stats" and exploring how big of a factor hit chance pays into the calulation, as i didnt find any creator explaing it really well. Keep the great videos coming!
Bro can you help to create block chance penetration
so run skill damage resistencev and evasion
Great hard work but this is not an actual real game application , a better and more usefull information would be , in the case of greatsword , critical damage is very limited and can only reach so high , and to get to my point a really interesting find would be at which point you want to stack base damage over skill damage boost. However I am aware that this research would be much more time consuming and possibly more expensive to find out. Nonetheles your hard work is appreciated
Is critical damage capped on 32 ? i have like 42 atm
I have the calculator program for you to use for these tests.
does this also apply to critical damage reduction? (on the current rune synergy effects for rare runes. i think on both weapons and necklace gives you 18%. the belt also gives plus 4% if you go for that. which results in 22% crit dmg reduction) it should apply the same, but i don't have the data as you did. can you maybe show us? appreciate your effort good video, keep it up!
+1 subs here sir what item can boost crit dmg?
Thanks for the sub! For crit damage and the current version, check out the 2-set shadow harvester bonus.
THANKS FOR DOING THE SCIENCE PART INTO LOOKING INTO THE DAMGES AND STUFF INSTEAD OF JUST PARROTING WHAT YOU HEARD LIKED AND SUBBED ALSO CAPS
where is critical damage coming from?
2 harvester item and dagger
love your content keep it up 👍 good videos definitely subscribing
Great overview. +1 sub ❤
Appreciate the support! Glad you found it helpful.
New sub here! Thanks for amazing content :)
Yo how do you put crit damage? Mine is 0 idk where to get it
shadow harvest (2) combo and dagger passive skills
For healers (bow/wand) you can get both (bow passives and wand skill buff) for some juicy heals and shields. I just wonder, if its dependant on allies endurance or stats or if you can just get free crit/heavy procs on allies ?
How do i get critical damage as scout build
So how much attack speed to invest? Does it have diminishing returns?
seems like ai channel
Very funny. 😆 " Not bad "
"not bad" 🤣
can you make a video on how to achieve both high skill damage boost and critical im using 2 piece harvester that only gives 14% CD
How do you get so much crit damage increase?
shadow harvester set + dagger passive
thanks, can you do heavy attack and critical hit pls ? ty
GoD
keep doing this experimental video bro, you deserve more because you are actually here testing stuff and not those wannabe content creators who is just yapping with no evidence lmfao
thanks you for the vids and all the testing that you do, youre a real g
Your videos are good But your hitting a dummy does the dummy have "endurance" or defense...
Great vid
So what happens when u fight a tank with over 800+ endurance
build critical chance, or run away XD
There is one crucial information missed here. Critical Damage is based on multiple elements such as your build's critical hit rate, enemies endurance. It's RNG due to proc %. Skill Damage Boost is a permanent damage boost to all skills. SDB should be the way to go as it is 100% constant damage boost.
huh do you know there is SKILL DAMAGE RESISTANCE right lmfao? nonetheless all stats have weakness to make everything balance and also just because someone have endurance that doesnt mean you wont deal damage lmfao having critical damage is still important than having 0% critical damage lmfao just think bro you act like endurance will save someone or make them immortal, thats why in pvp almost all highest dealing damage are DAGGER classes because that class boost your damage alot even you have endurance and that class focuses more on critical chance and critical damage if skill damage boost is far more important then why every highest dps class in all PVE and PVP is always gonna be with someone running with DAGGER CLASS? lmfao
@@ajjames1960 Relax mate, have a cup of coffee. I believe this video is focused on all classes, not just dagger users. I'll try to explain with another analogy about SDB & CD. Ignoring all defensive elements mentioned. Assuming in a corporate environment scenario. Damage = $salary; 1.MANAGERIAL POSITION Skill Damage Boost (355 SDB) = Monthly salary from employer Salary per month - $15,406 x12 months Annual Income - $184,872 total 2.SALES POSITION Crit Chance = Commissions achieved. In good months you hit sales quota, in bad months you don't sell anything so there is no sales commission. Base Damage (0% CD) = Basic Salary Crit Damage (32% CD) = Additional Commission on top of basic salary. Assuming 50% Crit Chance = 12 months x 50% = 6 months Commission achieved (32% CD) = $16,114 x6 months = $96,684 Basic Salary per month (0% CD) = $12,209 x6 months = $73,254 Annual Income = $169,938 total In a long run, would you rather have stable income or a commission based job? Now, swap $ decimals into damage dealt as these numbers were pulled from video's chart. I did not say that CD is unimportant, but SDB is always prioritized. There is a reason why SDB traits cost most in AH, and it's also the reason why their Boon/Riftstones are most sought after by top guilds. It boosts the entire guild including healers and tanks, which is far superior than boosting only dagger users.
@@ajjames1960 you need to think more. but i don't think this would help in your case... gl
@@RetryTL yeah, meta is changing, Endurance is better than Evasion. SDB is useful.
One thing that is important is that the critical hit depends on the critical chance x endurance of the other player. In a simple comparison, as the video shows, the study is very valid. However, the skill damage boost may hit 100% of the time, which, in the long run, can be more efficient than the critical hit. Would be fun to do one video of critical chance, because everyone that try to hit 70 on dex just gain 4-6% of critical chance.
The thing is though in pvp dps doesnt matter all that much because of all the healing that exists. You could do 400k dmg but if all the dmg is healed it doesnt matter, and someone with 200k dmg and 2 kills will have more impact. So getting as much damage for your burst combo is good generally. Dex 70 is kinda a bait I agree, but its still gives the most flat dmg out of all attributes. Crit, attack speed, highest base damage increase per point
@@bicepsking thats true, is better to have a chance to remove a huge chunk and kill than give less damage that can healed. good point !
