    this is really helpful! I currently use Systane Complete PF. I like them but haven’t tried others. My eyes are really prone to redness and irritation, do you think something like Evolve would be better than a lubricant eyedrop? thanks 😊

    • @DaysInTheClinic
      @DaysInTheClinic 5 дней назад

      The cool thing about Systane Complete is that it is an emulsion, meaning it has tiny lipid (oil) droplets, that's why the drops look opaque in color. Some people has less oil in their natural tear film, so their tear evaporates fast, and Systane Complete can replenish both the oil and water components in the tear. It is a good eye drop overall. Within the Systane brand, you can also try Systane Ultra Hydration (PF), some places call it Systane Hydration. It usually comes in individual vials when you buy it over the counter. Some doctors' offices may sell the bottled PF version. I use that one on a regular basis. There are no studies suggesting Evolve is superior, the reason I mentioned it was because someone wanted a review on that brand, lol. Many eye drops have similar ingredients. Think of artificial tears almost like moisturizers for your skin. There are soooo many brands of good moisturizers on the market, and everyone has their own favourites, and you will find what works the best for you. I may talk about other brands in future videos, and I will talk about what to avoid as well. Thank your question 🥰

    Instead of focusing on specific brands, I am trying to talk about the ingredients in these artificial tear drops. Helpfully when you shop for artificial tears you can have a better idea of whether certain eye drops will work for you. What artificial tears do you use? 🤓

    I was taught that unless you're using a highly magnified optic, it's best to keep both eyes open for better awareness and a list of other practical reasons. As a kid who watched nothing but cowboy and WW2 movies it took me a while to unlearn squinting one eye, but it's a big help once you start trying stuff like hunting or training for matches like 3 gun instead of shooting at a busted car.

    Close one eye, focus on the target you see with that eye and slowly open the eye again. Now you're shooting with both eyes open.

  • @MrBus359
    @MrBus359 12 дней назад

    Why not just close one eye?

    • @DaysInTheClinic
      @DaysInTheClinic 10 дней назад

      When you close one eye, you might add pressure on the other eye. Also, these athletes train for many hours in a day, so closing one eye for that long gets painful. Having the little blinder allow them to keep both eyes open, while focusing on what they want to see ~

  • @Xlaxsauce
    @Xlaxsauce 12 дней назад

    I taught myself to lose focus in 1 eye so I can aim with both my eyes open. I imagine others can do the same that keep both eyes open. It is just another skill

    There will be situations where you may have to keep on wearing your contacts for longer periods of time, like when you are working a long shift at the hospital, traveling etc. In these situations, the extended wear contacts could be a good choice because of their high oxygen permeability. The current extended wear contacts on the US and Canadian markets are: Acuvue Oasys from Johnson and Johnson (approved for extended/continuous wear for 6 nights/7 days); Biofinity from Cooper Vision (6 nights/7 days); Air Optix Night and Day (approved for up to 30 days and nights of continuous wear). HOWEVER, this DOES NOT mean they are risk free! Speaking from personal experience, wearing them to sleep was very uncomfortable, my eyes were all red and dry eye the next day 😅

      Lol, you might be able to get prescription swimming goggles, they are more common than people think. The only thing is, the prescription would be the same on both eyes and there would be no astigmatism. If the two of your eyes are different, then go with the eye with the least amount of prescription. For example if one eye is -2.00 and the other eye is -1.00, get goggles that has -1.00 prescription on both eyes. It won’t be exact but it is way better than nothing. I will pin your comment 🤗~

    If he doesn’t have vision then how is this a success? We can attach parts but getting them to work is the whole point.

    • @DaysInTheClinic
      @DaysInTheClinic Месяц назад

      Even attaching the part was impossible in the past. An unsuccessful procedure means the donor’s eye will gradually shrivel up, the nerve will atrophy and die off, an infection can occur and it will be life threatening to the patient. But in this case, there is good blood circulation, and the nerve is actively sending and receiving signals from the brain, which is already a huge step.

    How long does vision get blurry and when should i open my eyes after eye gel?

    • @DaysInTheClinic
      @DaysInTheClinic Месяц назад

      You can open your eyes right away. If your gel drop is actually a medication, then consider closing your eyes for about two minutes so the medication can better work on your eyes. If your gel drop is just for lubrication, you can open your eyes right away. The blurred vision does depend on how thick the gel is. When I apply a thick ointment, my vision can be blurry for 20 min.

    • @DaysInTheClinic
      @DaysInTheClinic Месяц назад

      We thought the optic nerve wouldn’t grow but they also injected some stem cells in the optic nerve when they did the transplant. A few months later, although the patient still couldn’t see, MRI (and other imaging) showed the visual cortex did pick up light signals from the transplanted eye, which means the nerve was working.
