Yeah it drops outside of Ascendance but with First Ascendant you're back in it in less 2 mins. Outside of it you can sustain high damage in ST with Fusion of the Elements to get Ele Blast up a lot to benefit from Earthshatter talent. The only bad thing is the RNG factor; getting Maelstrom refunds and getting 'free' Ascendance chances with Deeply Rooted

same. notice that nuke'n'dip popped ascendance for 20 seconds and did 1.3mil DPS and said 'the damage is fine'. there's a shared delusion in the community that ST is still acceptable but ele is literally at the bottom of ky'vesa rankings according to warcraftlogs

We lost about 100k average, i estimate its like we lost around 8 gear ilvls in single target. In any aoe 5+ we are still better, probably kings of the game right now. And i cant say that its not fun to decide which pack of poor mobs you want to decimate with ascendance. Cleave is still bad just slightly better but im not convinced and our 3 target it ok.

In kyveza i got handed over by people 10 i lvls below me with relative ease, the meters are speaking the truth.

The burst is pushing closer to 2mil most of the time (more depending on what other buffs are in group). Obviously it drops but you can sustain a lot of it with ele blast procs from fusion of the elements, earthshatter talent and some good RNG refunds on maelstrom with Aftershock. It's also another reason to use First Ascendant over preemincance so you can get back to Ascendance burst in 2 mins

The way this patch is going, I'm not holding my breath but the backtracking on the nerfs from Blizz is a big W

No doubt Ele needed some tuning but these nerfs a little over the top. Gonna have to wait to see how the changes feel once they go live, but it’s not looking good. Might have to switch to Enhancement fully if its as bad as it sounds 😂

Thanks dude! With the class tuning coming in this week, there could be small adjustments made to the rotations, especially if the Farseer buffs make it worth using again. I'm gonna do some testing when it goes live and drop an update vid

Yeah I noticed that too. Not sure if it's a bug or supposed to only give the buff when you manually cast Ele Blast. Still a nice way to keep damage up when moving around though

We knew it was coming, and they could probably have been even more aggressive with the nerfs. It shouldn't change too much around the playstyle, though, and at least Farseer got some love

It’s used to apply flame shock and it empowers your next lightning bolt. It causes the flame shock targets to take up to 175% echoing damage from your next lightning bolt. So hitting PWave then spreading flame shock with lava lash or directly applying it if needed The button bloat is going to be (hopefully) a lot less after next weeks re work in patch 11.0.5

@nukendip I mean...I know what it does (no disrespect) I use PW in the elemental build but I did not know ppl use it storm build. You don't think it's kind of irrelevant? Cause if isn't, then I'll add PW in my storm build.

It’s a nice way of lining up some burst on a short cool down and can help with your bigger burst windows as well. If you more doing good without it, I wouldn’t worry about it. Especially with the changes coming next week, a lot could change with rotations

Yeah it's hard with how fast it can be in Ascendance. I tend to hit lightning as much as I can during that window alternating with windstrikes to get Tempest as much as possible. May not be the best way to play it but seems to perform quite well for me

Simplest way of looking at the general rotation is: Crash lightning used when 2 or more targets Stormstrike whenever it is available Lava lash and ice strike are just fillers when you need maelstrom and everything else on cooldown Use lightning bolt as much as possible at 8 or maelstrom to get to Tempest as quick as possible. Tempest replaces lightning bolt when it's ready and you want to use that at 10 maelstrom stacks Going slow with the rotation really helps to make sure you are using the right skills at the right. Feels weird at first but damage does improve even when you're doing it slowly when you get it right

Ele is almost too easy at the moment with the damage it outputs but it's still hella fun! Ehancement's APM is pretty gnarly, especially in long fights, gives me flashbacks to when I mained Outlaw Rogue

A bit of both. Windstrike will use it for the most part, but there will be some small times where you will have Tempest up and Windstrike is on cooldown so you can cast it yourself

@@nukendip If you cast Tempest via Windstrike, it'll cast a 5 stack Tempest, that is a huge damage loss.

As best as you can, manually cast Tempest with 10 stacks of Maelstrom. Using Winstrike will only consume up to 5 stacks, Windstrike itself will not make up for the lost damage.

@@xlIThatGuyIlx only consumes 5 stacks but hits for 100% effectiveness, no? Or is it only 100% effectiveness of the 5 stacks value?
