Children of the Sun Review
Children of the Sun is a slim, sleek, incredibly purple sniper game where we play as a telekenetic sniper, clearing dozens of enemies with a single shot. A little more puzzle game than FPS, it's a refreshing twist on shooter mechanics and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Jotun's 2024 in Review
Просмотров 58День назад
The New Year! The perfect time for a recap video of what came before. And also champagne and making resolutions and stuff. For the most part this is a general video about gaming in 2024, including some brief reviews of games I played but did not cover over past year.
100%ing the Total War:Warhammer Trilogy (and ranting for 19 minutes)
Просмотров 9814 дней назад
I recently grabbed my last achievements for this franchise and just wanted to spend some time gabbing about that. This is a comparatively informal video - I didn't script anything out or really...plan ahead in any logical way, so it's a bit all over the place.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 : Heart of Chornobyl - Jotun Reviews
Просмотров 140Месяц назад
STALKER 2 brings us back into the Zone; a Zone where the old rivalries still linger as new factions vie for control. But all I really care about is stockpiling sausages and traipsing through psychic minefields. Releasing in late 2024, it's a sequel 15 years removed from the initial trilogy, still developed by GSC Game World... and it's a game I had extremely mixed feelings on. I switched from O...
Night Stones - Wholesome Indie Fun - Jotun Reviews
Просмотров 105Месяц назад
A short and sweet review for a short and sweet game. Night Stones is an indie project by a solo developer (Advance Nine) that released in November 2024, it's an adventure/exploration game with a runtime of around ~4 hours. S thoroughly enjoyable and wholesome experience for that runtime. It's such a breezy, light adventure that I got really wrapped up in it and can't find much fault at all.
Islands of the Caliph - An Indie Dungeon Crawling Adventure - Jotun Reviews
Просмотров 65Месяц назад
Islands of the Caliph is a first-person dungeon crawler-slash-exploration game taking place in a world wrought from middle eastern folklore and the Islamic tradition. Featuring bright, popping graphics and relatively simple controls, it's a quick game that's certainly worth a try.
Judero - Jotun Reviews
Просмотров 1602 месяца назад
Judero is an ARPG developed by two people, with graphics made entirely of physical objects and stop-motion animations, with a focus on the Scottish border and the mythology thereof. The gameplay is a bit simple, the writing is a bit deep, and I had a good time overall. Played on Steam. 100% achievements in ~8 hours

The Callisto Protocol - Review - Playing A Dead Horse
I apologise for having to be that guy, but it's called a magazine, not a clip. They are two completely different things. Proper terminology is important. It's like calling a car a bike. Both have the same purpose, they both take you from A to B, but they are still two completely different things. Other than that, great video!
Damn. Got me
Nice review.
Thanks for checking it out! The very first one I ever did, infact.
Great Review. the game is on sale along with a new DLC. I will get it
That's a high quality content right there
Thanks for checking it out!
I really wish that it could have kbm support on console, might as well its literally a pc port and the combat feels a bit wonky for me on controller
It starts with a pretty hefty aim assist. I think i had to fiddle with controller settings for a while, but eventually i got used to it
@JotunWarrior im bout to finish stalker 2 i think im fighting the granite squad (im raging) then ill commit to this trilogy finally
@rShxd0w duuuude i hid in the cupboard to the left of the door and slowly sniped them all. It was not rewarding but it beat dying 2 seconds after the loadscreen 50 times in a row
@@JotunWarrior i threw my 8 grenades up where the soldiers with the gauss guns were and i just spammed the rest with my saga and ran through the door, its over. Game is so damn good though
Great overview, thank you! I'm on the fence about buying the trilogy on pc or for ps5. Your voice reminds of Edward Norton, I mean that as a compliment! Thanks for your work.
Thank you! You're the second commenter to make a Norton comparison, but somehow the first as a compliment
I finished this game just this yesterday. I mostly play movement shooters so I expected the reloading thing to bug me more but it turned out to not be a big issue. The thing that bugged me the most is that the last arena wasn’t much of a challenge to me, compared to the prodeus dimension. Those blue halo dudes kicked my shit in. Overall the other dimensions are extremely rushed and the ending doesn’t feel like an ending. My favorite levels are atonement and the space station
Sounds like I should check out darktide. I'll add it to the infinite backlog...
Ive heard it wasn't very good at launch but since I've been playing, it's incredible. Not a game that ever really ends though!
Great times on newgrounds
I played The last stand Union City 4 times over, I loved that game and really hits the nostalgia button for me. Thank you for unlocking that memory❤
im 30 and this hits be in the feels lol
S.T.A.L.K.E.R on Console , wtf🤢🤮🤮
Can you remove the head bobbing? That’s a deal breaker for me, I’ve been following this game for quite some time, i want to play it, it intrigues me.
Pretty sure you spelled it wrong. You get an A for effort though!
Incorrect. GSC Game World used the Ukrainian-to-English translation of 'Chernobyl'; not Russian to English like the original PC version title 'Shadow of Chernobyl'. The choice was made due to the developers wanting to distance themselves from being associated with Russia. I still haven't played the new Stalker yet, but I bet it's completely sanitized of anything Russian, i.e. voice acting or references.
> Short and concise ; good ! >
Great review!
I think you could've touched on the story a bit more, not spoilers, but just how much player decision making is in the story compared to previous games. There were moments where i'd make what felt like a decision with no payoff, only for it to show back up 10 hours later in an unexpected way. Also I think the world itself needed more discussion, the fact that its as huge as it is, with no loading screens, and its all handcrafted, really put Bethesda to shame. I loved how it mixed in the old areas 1:1 like Cordon, and expanded on others like Rostok. But I agree that by the end of the story things were getting so buggy. Im almost tempted to uninstall the game and just save it for a later date now that ive finished it.
Yeah I didn't really feel comfortable talking about the story because I only played to one of the endings... I definitely don't have a full picture of the story. But of the quests I completed, the characters and story beats felt very choppy and sudden.
@@JotunWarrior The story impressed me how many choices i was given, but i hated how much they fell back on Richter to keep things going. Also the story was so long.
Minor nit-picks, typical launch growing pains and MIA A-Life aside I managed to have a pretty great time. Coming right off the back of a playthrough of COP and Anomaly I could feel all the improvements on the former and influence of the latter. Honestly glad that I got to even experience this game given the circumstances but I agree that a lot of the missing aspects raise an eyebrow. I'm definitely curious how the game will pan out the next time I do a full playthrough with all the updates and expansion content that would be added by then.
I dropped it after 5 hours when I found out the stealth was totally broken and I started getting way more bugs in the second area
have to agree
How many times did your weapon jam in that scene!? Loool
Great review man! Keep it up like this and your subs are sure to rocket. All the best!
Thanks!
Nah man the characters were the best part The quality of life is awesome. The graphic jump is great And its the last sequel to feel like the original
2:00 After starting it back in the days, I just finished it today on the PS4. And I still didn't know that you can smash open those boxes! Could have helped me in the Monolith level.
Have you experienced the audio cutting in and out? Especially in the underground labs… I have this issue on ps4
I don't think i had that issue on ps5, but the game is notorious for random little bugs
@ I’ve noticed it with the whole legends of the zone trilogy, primarily in the underground levels… even with the latest updates
Would Tarkovsky have played this game?
tarkovsky would only play stardew valley
Even after being locked out of progression on Stalker 2 after 88 hrs, I'm definitely a new fan of the franchise. Ordered the trilogy since I like seeing the evolution of a series and missed the bus since im a console gamer.
having a playthrough end in a game breaking bug is kinda a hallmark of the series lol. Hope you have fun with the originals, they're... fairly stable on consoles
It's the old 3D sound EAX effects that aren't properly reintegrated and enabled in the console releases that cause that lack of depth sadly. Probably for old 3D sound licensing issues or some complications with not having in depth programming controls and perhaps an incompatibility with the consoles' audio processor, or the devs couldn't be bothered to reimplement it.
I tried to play this game once but I could just not get over how ugly the viewmodels/animations were.
Just finished this game, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Excellent review my friend.
Thanks for checking out the video!
The only thing i really dislike about this game is Fahad
Im currently playing through all 3. Still on shadow of chernobyl. Is clear sky worth playing?
It's really my least favorite, but it kinda depends what you're expecting. It's more like a squad based military shooter and the a-life squad simulator system can be really frustrating at times
The wendigo running past the pipe bomb makes me angry
Really good review man, thought you had thousands of subscribers. Hope you will get there!
Thanks!!
Thank you for the review. It was helpful and pleasantly quick to the point.
This was one of the best reviews I've seen for this game. One of the only one's to not just regurgitate the same points as all the others, and one of the few to seem to actually get what the appeal of the game actually is, as way too many people seem to say "My decisions aren't cut and dry, so this is stupid."
Huh, might enjoy it, but it depends on the controls.
Im so hyped for STALKER 2, hopefully it will invoke all that the original trilogy did with enhanced graphics. There needs to be other games like STALKER, and if I missed any good survival shooters put them in the reply!
ive been curious about this game for a while, thanks for sharing your thoughts. See ya!
Thanks for the continuing support! : ]
Being from Scotland myself and rarely do a see my country represented in games.
Just finished it as well, played it on and off during the times it was before 1.0 But then hit it back up and beat the game and been messing around in the freeplay and skirmish and new game plus. super fun, too bad it aint multiplayer.
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for making it! An awful lot harder than reviewing it, I suspect!
Glad I found ur channel!
Is the game similar to that movie Chernobyl Diaries (2012)
From what I read Jonathon Nolan, the creator of Chernobyl Diaries, cites Stalker as the inspiration for the film. So Chernobyl Diaries is like Stalker.
I tried the demo, very bizarre & "unique" and I plan to buy to support them!
always happy when you upload
Nice review. I bought the games on launch but didn't touch them, then saw there was a patch recently that added gyro aiming and thought I'd give them a go now. I actually had them already on PC, but greatly prefer couch + controller gaming. It's a hard trade off though since there's also none of the PC mods.
A recent patch also added a mod hub, but it's pretty much just texture upscaling mods at this point :/
Great review man! I have so many good memories of this game, and like you said, when I think of the franchise as a whole it's elements from CoP that stand out. Are you going to review STALKER 2 when it comes out??
Yep! No promises on how close to release date it'll be though.
Jesus Christ, did Edward Norton narrate this review? I couldn't move past the voice.
Oh now I hear it LOL
