This is a Z19 engine , as fitted to many of the GM group. Exhaust gas recirculation is a problem for nearly all Diesels, you will see why! Here's how to clean it and save yourself money on service costs and MPG.

Why don't you just fix the connector? Soldering is a good idea, until you need to remove the seat.
Because those connectors are a nightmare to re wire so easier to cut the wires and soldering them together.
What did you use to clean it?
something like Brake cleaner is good
Thank you!
Hi. Trying to do this on a 2005 car. One side of the connector has 4 extra wires than the other side, any idea what should be done with these? Thanks
Sorry, i don't know
Русский
One must remember that the rear and front tracks have different measurements and account for that when using the string to calculate the front toe. (Track, Front 1,518 mm Track, Rear 1,514 mm) 🙂 BTW the rear tracking is always set to tow in just enough to keep the back end straight especially under heavy braking, in fact, the suspension geometry should increase such tow-in as the rear end of the car tends to lift away from the road surface.
2:07 why you jump in time?
its the issue i have with the connector, i need 2 hands. Holding a phone :)
Thx
So my light that says "service" is on, is that due to a fault code being present?
Is there another light illuminated also?
@@gerardwhite5925 engine warning light flashes when stationary, but goes away again, thinking its a coil pack breaking down and misbehaving when its hot
@@Jackofallmotards I suspect so. Is it worse travelling up hill?
@@gerardwhite5925 not that i have noticed, it still goes well. Did a cam position sensor and 2 coils last year, throwing multiple random misfire codes so i did cps it helped ish then did coils, should have changed all 4 but i own a 20 year old car because I cant afford a nice new one lol
@@Jackofallmotards I get what your saying. If it drives OK up hills, generally the coils are fine. If the Engine management light flickers on when the rpm is low, this could suggest a idle control problem. Do you have access to a scanner
Awsome thanks
why do people go through all this trouble, and not clean out the egr cooler and pipes from the turbo? they get just as bad too effecting flow massively.
I just cannot get the inner tie rod loose.
I know, they are a pain in the hole. You can buy specialist tools to assist you, but sometimes it just brut force
I have service and check engine light today I changed the oil not long ago but I not reset the car. Could that the reason the error indicators are on? it also seems a bit sluggish to me, it feels good at 90 km / h in five gears. I try reseting the car tomorrow I hope this solve my problem.
It sounds like you have an engine fault/malfunction, that's why the engine management light is on . The SERVICE light is to indicate that this type of fault requires a garage or service garage, it's misleading I know, it's just the way Renaults are. The sluggish performance leads me to think that a scan of the engine system would answer that question, once the engine fault is corrected the the SERVICE light will also turn off.
Bon soir .plaise je veux le schema des câbles airbag sous le cieges passager Mégane III. J ai problème des places des couleurs des fil merci
Désolé, je n'ai pas de données sur Megane III. Bonne chance
Brilliant! Sorted my airbag/service lamp, separated both under-seat plugs and sockets, sprayed both with electrical cleaner and let them dry 5mins, re-connected squeezing them tight after pushing the slide back-in, airbag/service lamps now out. Now I know that's where the problem is if it re-occurs I'll remove the plugs/sockets and solder the wires. Thank you for the vid, appreciated ;)

can You send me wireing sheme without timers ? Thanks in advance
Just take out the timers. 0:36
I've made a new auto coop door with a light sensor. the timers are a pain, due to seasonal changes. Are you interested to know more?
How the hell do I open that connector? Just pull? Or do I have to press something and pull
You will need to release the peg, it deeper inside

in my megane there is no reset button like in yours, what todo than?
Its the button to rest the Trip. is that there?
just experienced such worn steering inner tie-rod with a lot of play on my wife's megane cc, symptom was wobble when breaking or load change, your video is just brilliant, thanks a million sir. Over the years I have seen 3 renaults in which a disgarded worn-loose inner tie-rod ball-head actually came out of cup-type holder while driving and shmashed the wheel back into the body resulting in major damage, luckly nobody was injured.
I used 5/40
10/40?
10/40 is best
I bought one for 120.. couldn't connect to the computer
Top vid mate helped me out thanks 👍🏼and the Orange plastic bit is the steering rack bush and goes between the rack and the rod to stop any movement
Many thanks.
You are welcome!
How can i buy this part
Which part do you mean?
You turned off the oil change soon light, but I’m looking for how to turn of the light that actually says service next to the mileage reset button? This is the service light is it not?
The "Service" light is not always a change your oil etc warning, the service light you are seeing is illuminated for a maintenance reason, it is usually followed by another light light to highlight where the problem area is. For example an airbags fault = air bag light + "Service" . When "Service" is illuminated you will need further diagnostic to find the root cause. I hope this helps. Ger
👍 good vid . Yes inlet manifold gets gunked up too 👍
I ended up replacing the manifold, flaps..... you know it
EGR blanking and oil catch can would be a good combo, clean out the air/oil separator if not 👍
Whats size was ur inner tie rods in (mm)
No idea, somewhere around 36mm to 42mm at a guess
Helpful info thx!!
Your a legend mate :), Top video
hello everybody, I have this issue with my ac...is blowing only cold air, no matter how much I want to have inside, like 22 or 20, the mix only blows minimum temperature..like really cold..I ve changed the temp sensor from the mirror inside the car, still nothing..any clues..please
You will probably want to replace the evaporator sensor (which is accessed through the passenger footwell panel like in this video). I have the same problem and just read that the evap sensor should cure the issue.
@@matthewp9015 nope..it was from the upper mix engine that controls up and down air flow..
DAN CIOCO Thanks. Sorry I don’t understand what ‘upper mix engine’ is?
@@matthewp9015 attached to the ventilator is a little engine that directs the air up or down, when this engine fails due to reasons like battery low or rough engine works then air from the cold air compressor is not mixing correctly with the warm air resulting in only cold air in my case..
Here's another delightful Megane II airbag story. Its an rs225, after months of misery, new steering rack, dual mass flywheel and clutch, windscreen, airbag squib, throttle body etc i smugly sat in the cabin full of joy after finishing my pig of a clutch job. Glanced under the steering wheel and for the first time noticed ooh! The steering wheel's height adustable, never noticed before as the lever is off centre. Made the fatal error of, well fatal in the Renault world of simply adjusting the steering wheel height to the upper position. And guess what everyone, yep! Airbag and service light come on! Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Took the wheel, squib everything off, made sure all connections were disconnected, then firmly reconnected, light stayed off!! Idled the car for ages and it never came on!whereas it was coming on and off instantly previously. Came back to the car three hours later, lights on again!! Took a major huff and rammed steering wheel down to the lower position, light is off! For how long though? Answers on a postcard......
Your pain is real, my friend
I'm having the same trouble with my saab 95 vector sport 2007 UK model I've changed the boost control sensor the egr valve and had the dpf taken off and cleaned any ideas what else it could be the only code I'm getting is p1901 could it be the dpf sensor any help would be great
I went through the same pain as you, cleaning etc only works for a short time if at all. In the end after another 5k miles I had the dpf mapped out. The process I discribed in the video did work, but at some point cleaning the dpf has little effect.
@@gerardwhite5925 many thanks mate forgot to mention emg light clears itself for about a week then comes back on its a proper pain
When you did this did the airbag and service light go out
Yep service and Airbag light go out together
Thank you, you just made my day
can u please tell me which cable is supposed to be soldiered to which? they have completely different colors?
You are correct the wire colours do not align, in order not to mix them up you should make a note of the wiring colour and in position in both the male and female plug. Then solder the matching wire one at a time.
thnx for the answer! I assume the wires are connected in a parallel way? what I'm saying is that in theory I should be able to remove one at the time an soldier it to the one across? I don't know if I'm making myself clear enough and for that I apologize.
I think what your a saying makes sense, one at a time is a good idea.
Did you solder them one by one parallel? I understand what you mean and I have to do this job but can't find a diagram
muchas gracias, acabo de resolver en mi Sandero de la misma manera ,era lo mismo
