Snitch. Always the biker's fault.
Some of the worst, most selfish driving and dangerous parking you will see is often demonstrated by the police. Just think, this driver could drive at 80mph, through your estate too!!
Did you see that big give way sign? That means YOU must stop, but what the heck your a cyclist, rules don’t apply to you, where’s your 3 points?
I don’t see the cyclist ‘failing to give way’ to anyone. The footage does show a close pass though.
PMSL, what a clown you are 😂🤣. You will learn the hard way just like this idiot driver did.
No, give way signs don't mean cyclists must stop - they don't even mean motorvehicles must stop. They mean you must give way as necessary Must be great to be so confident, even when you're wrong....
Give way means give way, not stop, you clinically thick pillock.
Interesting, you complain about a close pass, but when your in the outer lane don’t complain about cars passing you in their lane on the inside lane or coming towards you at EXACTLY the same distance away. Clearly, they won’t squash you, so that logic works right?
Absolutely no excuse for that. There was a nice gap in oncoming traffic just afterwards that Audi could easily have used to pass you.
Very bad reply from you! Things are much different than on camera, and this driver was much much closer than you think! Also, the cyclist was forced to the left to get out of the way! Bad person you are!
@@josephmarsh8235 Maybe reread it. Doesn't say what you seem to think it does. Merely said that the Audi could have waited a few seconds for the gap in oncoming traffic, moved into the oncoming lane, and passed safely. No excuse for close passing the cyclist like that.
Anyone else this would be a “re training course” at best and a fine and points otherwise. Two-tier like this has always been the case though.
Ask how many council vehicles get speeding tickets?
Essex police are culpable for any accidents if they continue to respond appropriately.
I'm afraid they don't seem to care.
Overtake you, and then turn off a short distance ahead? Totally worth it…
Yup, stupid and pointless.

Hi mate, hope u are doing well. Can i use it please ? With credit of course. Thanks in advance and have a good day.
Requires to see a manager about his future employment and at the least be put on a drivers awareness course. Overtaking in a hatched area is definitely a no no as well as the close proximity of his vehicle. He isn't thinking of both his own safety his passengers and your safety. No doubt the union would fight his corner. Running late or not is no excuse for driving like that.
The hatched road markings have broken surrounding lines, meaning you can cross them (with care and attention) to overtake. You cannot do this if the surrounding lines are solid.
That Is G & CA Lombardo's Rigid Wrecker Now.

Cyclist get nearer kerb otherwise it creates an unnecessary obstruction and interferes with passing traffic.
The. Cyclist. Is. Traffic.
@@Cous1nJack He wrote 'passing' traffic.
@@bustestlucloc4630 bikes, horses, cars, lorries, tuktuks are all traffic. All have the same right to use the road. There doesn’t need to be a conflict- creating distinction about bikes and ‘passing traffic’
And what do you find near kerbs, yes drain cover, gravel, glass, pot holes, that's why cyclist don't cycle near kerbs, plus if the driver had waited till there was a gap in on coming traffic, problem sorted, think before you ink.
@@Cous1nJackI think horses are unpredictable creatures, today I approached a large horse on an A road ,very slowly, all of a the horse start walking sideways,in my mind they should not be on major roads.
Perhaps the rider was positioned further from the curb than really necessary? Maybe cycle wheels should be positioned no further than 1 metre out from a curb?
Perhaps there isn’t space to allow 1.5 and the width of the car within a single lane. Perhaps if they were closer to the kerb they would have been squeezed into it and injured. Perhaps you should keep your thought to yourself?

@@bustestlucloc4630 it not even your post to comment on. Get a grip.
Comments here saying far too close, after looking at the footage and the shadows of both car and bike it was definitely closer than the new rules define but not close enough to cause the cyclist a problem. In fact it was a far bigger gap than cyclist fly through when cars are stationary in traffic. So if they are able and willing to at speed negotiate a certain sized gap between vehicles then I see no problem with a car passing them with an even larger gap. The two metre rule is a nonsense, most roads would put the car driver on the opposite side of the road and if there were parked cars their vehicle would be squarely in the opposite lane. The main issue here is the speed of the overtake and the ability to stop the manoeuvre if an unsafe situation suddenly arises.
Consider the difference between a chosen risk in which a person can see the unfolding picture vs having danger forced from behind. Add to this max 100kg vs >1000kg
Police obviously had the same thinking that I have.

I see a lot of these especially post rule change and have little sympathy as riding on the road necessitates close passes (closer than the rules say) and cyclists need to be able to handle these appropriately. This however really was far too close (unnecessarily so) and far too fast. Shocked the police did nothing, this car driver will kill someone someday unless he is taught a lesson. Hats off to the cyclist for not losing their cool.
How can they justify NFA at that speed and proximity
@walsallcyclecam1445 beats me. I asked the question and compared to less close, less fast passes that were actioned. No response.
@@boostar155Exactly when is he allowed to complain? At that speed it’s not going to be after the guy has hit him.
That NFA I suspect was down to the video quality not being good enough. Essex Police have some funny decision making at best.

Poor result again from Essex police - should be a course/con. offer at least I would have thought. Are you managing to get results for recent submissions? I’m finding ‘case not found’ with their new system.
@Julian-pp4ho case not found after a week usually means the system has not been updated, saferessexroads twitter handle can often find out the result for you. Something has changed very recently, lots of no further actions and the return of ineffective finger wagging letters.
Cheers - I don’t really do twitter/x so I’ll do it the ‘old fashioned way’ with an email. I’m keeping a close eye on the few submissions I make, let’s hope this concerning pattern is short lived - keep safe👍🏻
NFA? - seriously?? That was incredibly fast & close. I find ExtraEyes pretty good but they’ve let you down there.
@Julian-pp4ho they've gone significantly downhill lately, not sure why. Very strange.
In his clips CykelTony seemed to solicit a more robust response from Essex Police. What has gone wrong with them? Piss poor performance and that's not just from those overtaking.
@andrewatherton316 there's been a sudden change very recently. No idea why. Local campaign group has made enquiries, but no response to my knowledge.
I don’t understand how some drivers pass cyclists so closely, it says in the Highway Code to leave at least 1.5 metres when overtaking cyclists at speeds of up to 30mph, and give them more space when overtaking at higher speeds, obviously for some of us it’s difficult to judge 1.5 metres of space but when overtaking a cyclist treat them as if they were a car, give them as much space as you would when overtaking a car, that’ll make sure you give them adequate clearance when you overtake them, you have to think of the worst, what if they wobble and fall off their bike as I’m passing them, that’s why you give them plenty of space when you overtake them.
Typical bad H&C bus drivers!
How wide is your bike? The centreline of a cyclist should be within around 75cm of the curb, which is far enough to miss any drain covers, while allowing other road users to pass.
No, the rider positions themselves in the road as appropriate at _their_ discretion. It is for teh overtaking party to perform their overtake in a safe manner. Try HWC 163, there's even a picture to help the hard of reading
@@bestbehave The latest Highway Code has several stupid new rules. In situations where vehicles are passing a cyclist, common sense dictates that if the lane width is sufficient wide, you give them room.
@@cs7th the rules aren’t different, they’ve been clarified. If you think they’re stupid, you could of course have participated in the widely publicised consultation that went on for months.

@@xx-----------xx873 not everyone is a lazy sack of shit, maybe you should give that a try
Nah, 1.5m minimum is the requirement. If you are having difficulty guaging distance you might want an eye test, and/or extra driving lessons
From the Highway code (part 2) When riding on busy roads, with vehicles moving faster than you, allow them to overtake where it is safe to do so whilst keeping at least 0.5 metres away, and further where it is safer, from the kerb edge. Remember that traffic on most dual carriageways moves quickly. Take extra care crossing slip roads.
Don't argue with a cyclist they are like women. Always right
If there one constant in the world, it's that men crying about women arguing with them are almost always little spineless shits.
If a car passes me then cuts me off that's the cars fault, if I catch up to a car , although I have the right of way, I know he might not see me so I yeald. It's not the law, but it's common sense.
How did you know only a warning letter was sent? All Herts police confirm is MAPA unless it goes to court, but then that wouldn’t be just a warning letter.
@badabing8884 Essex Police Extra Eyes service updates outcomes a few days after submission.
Where I live we have green evangelists cycling to work sometimes two abreast; smugly saving the world. Behind them is a frustrated queue of cars all burning more fuel than they would be otherwise. Dangerous overtakes are stupid and dangerous but how about the cyclists meet us half way and ride in single-file, and occasionally stopping to let cars past?
You don't burn more fuel going slowly and come on, drivers don't give a shit about their environmental impact. Ragging their cars to get past a cyclists only to stop and do the same thing again when they hit the next red light. Perhaps all those drivers, almost always a single driver in a massive car should work out a better way to get to work. If you want cyclists not to be on the roads, petition for separated infrastructure that is actually usable rather than the shit we get now which is unmaintained, constantly interrupted by driveways, side roads and covers about 20% of most journeys if you are very lucky.
It's you that's burning fuel dude not them. And as a driver I can say that I've never been delayed on a journey by more than a second or so by riders - you know as well as I do that they're only going to filter past you at the next junction
you need to adjust yourself to be more towards the middle of the road. I'm not a cyclist I'm a driver but I always give plenty of room to cyclists, as i understand a cyclist has as much right to use the road as a car driver. Command the road in a better way. keeping to the left will encourage drivers to overtake you in stupid places.
