Everything has a center and everything is the center of something.
Bro it’s Connecticut, who tf cares
Puerto Rico and Guam: 👁👄👁
"center of lower 48 states of america in downtown lebanon"
Good stuff. Usually start ski season with a hike up and slide down st Mary's. It's shrunk so much in recent years. A fascinating place to be.
Thanks! The research, hiking, filming and editing for this vid was a huge project for me. I’m thrilled when folks get some value from it and leave a comment. I hope you ski St Mary’s “glacier” for many years to come. Cheers!
I'm taller than you. 😮
Ok. Thanks for checking in. ✌️
@Justin_Hikes You bet!
Damn its weird hearing Belle Fourche being talked about by anybody else except my family lol
$800 for a bed platform! Hard NO. I’ll make my own for $100
Nothing but respect for folks who have the skills, tools, and time to build their own. What’s important is that you get out there and enjoy yourself. For me this was a worthwhile purchase. I spent over 60 happy nights camping on this bed in 2024 alone. Cheers and happy camping!
@ I agree.
The center of the 50 and the center of the lower 48!
And it's super light!! I just got one and I was happily surprised of how light it is.
Right on! I’m still loving this fridge. We just returned from a trip to California and back and having fridge comes in clutch. Cheers and happy camping!
I would use a cargo van with only two front seats that swivel.
Cargo vans make great campers. In my case I need to use my everyday driver for camping. For me a minivan is the perfect compromise. Cheers and happy camping!
I have that exact van and I put down back seats and kept 1 second row seat up. I like your idea alot better. I'm going to try it your way. I don't have Thule or back trailer hitch storage but I use alot of under storage. I bought a tent cot so it left enough room under for my plastic bins. I have a long plastic bin I keep my camp stove etc in. I pull it out from the back half way and have a table to cook on
Thanks for sharing what works for you. I love all the different setups folks have. Whatever works for you and gets you out there camping is what’s important. Cheers and happy camping!
Not cooler related but may I know what roof box is that up on your minivan?
Hi. It’s a Thule. Cheers and happy camping!
So cool!
Thanks! Cheers!
Kansas said “fuck you, I’m still the OG”
Go to a sporting goods store like Academy sports and get a camping cot instead. Even easier to set up and more comfortable because they have a cloth sling instead of a hard flat surface
If you sleep comfortably on a camping cot then you can definitely save some money. I’m in my 50’s and have never found one that is comfortable for me. Trust me I’ve tried. I slept over 60 comfortable night on the Trunk Mate in 2024 alone. It works great for me and is money well spent. Cheers and happy camping!
Where would it be if Canada somehow become a state?
I don’t know but I hope Bruce visits if it does
This is the time I'm grateful that I'm short.
I’m 6’3” and sleep comfortably. Headroom while I’m sitting? Not so much. 😀
I like the blanket you have. What’s the brandname?
It’s a Pendleton. We bought it at Costco a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen it there since. Cheers and happy camping!
This is a cool short to get as someone who lives 15 minutes away from Belle Fourche haha
Right on! It’s a beautiful area of the country. Cheers!
Just for the fun of it, where would the center be if you include all US territories
I don’t know but when we figure it out we’ll send Bruce there. 🤪
Nice video! For my purposes I’d need a power supply and solar panel. Also a DC fridge since fiddling with ice on multi-week trips is a PITA! I didn’t see how or what you cook on. Maybe I missed it. Still, very inventive and something I’ll definitely consider as I move from tent camping.
I recently upgraded to a portable fridge with 250WH battery and love it. I made a vid about it in case you are interested. I have a small one burner stove that I use for cooking. It’s sufficient when I’m solo. When my wife joins me we usually cook up something more fun on the campfire. Thanks for the kind word. Cheers and happy camping!
@ Excellent! I will definitely check it out. Just ran across your channel today so I need to watch more of your work! 😀
Come to mammoth mountain in the winter or the summer either or it’ll blow your mind away
In California? It’s on my list!
The geographic center of the 50 states* Not counting territories
Excellent best ever, Mini Van conversion.
Thanks! Cheers and happy camping!
What I liked about the bed is how the legs adjust to the different heights. At $800 though I'll buy some plywood and make my own bed, figuring out the supports I'll need underneath.
Nothing but respect for folks who build their own. Whatever gets you out there camping is what’s important. Cheers and happy camping!
There’s a third of you include all of the territories- somewhere in the Pacific of course
We started with a Toyota Matrix, Previa , now JDM Granvia van. We never had to build, we used 6 yellow top boxes from Home Depot and trifold 3" memory foam mattresses from Amazon.
Sounds like you’ve got a great system for your needs! Cheers and happy camping!
It will take to 5 hours to only remove the seats as I am not good with tools!!😀😀
You don't need tools to remove the seats or create a build like mine. Cheers and happy camping!
No stow n go for the seats? I guess I won't be by purchasing that type of van
You should definitely get a vehicle you like. I’m happy with the reliability of the Honda. I spent over 60 happy nights camping in it this year. Cheers and happy camping!
Indiana stonehengè
Soon they'll have to build a third one 🤣
Keep up the good work helping Longmont. God bless you.
Thanks! I picked up 88 bags of litter in Longmont in 2024. 😀
Guam?
You forgot about guam.
I wonder what would be the center of the US if Puerto Rico became a state, or assuming Donald Trump takes Greenland or Canada by force
Awesome video!
Thanks! Cheers and happy camping!
way to go!! thank you for this
Thanks! Cheers and happy camping!
Cool. But I'd sort the toilet and skip most of the campgrounds. I drove my Prius V to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone after I saw the 2017 total eclipse in Oregon. Didn't pay a dime in camping fees, but I wouldn't have been able to anyway. August? The NPs were booked up for months. Instead I just dirtbagged it (car camp). Park at the trail head. For Yellowstone I just drove out of the park a few miles into a National Forest. Dispersed Camping. I just parked at an overview next to the road. Completely alone, quiet, amazing view. I have a Tesla Model Y now, so this would even be better. For a toilet I have disposable bags, but also a very low profile toilet, small trash bag. Baby diaper. This is for my girlfriend. I've been to one campground twice in the past four years but no others. Not because I'm cheap - they're all booked up. (And the reservation system in California sucked the last times I tried it.)
Thanks for sharing your story. I enjoy dispersed camping sometimes too. I agree campground reservations can be a pain sometimes. Cheers and happy camping!
Can use platform on trailer hitch and use crates
I hook a little trailer on the back
Right on! We used to have a pop-up camper. It was fun but these days I prefer the minivan. Cheers and happy camping!
In India, geographical centre at Nagpur is called as "Zero Mile."
I'm pretty sure that the US purchased Alaska in 1867 not 1959.
And when did it become a state?
Free Hawaii!
population center used to be near Dyersberg TN, but it has drifed SW for decades and, IIRC, is not too far from Little Rock AR today
Technically could you also not have a third point as the center, using landmass as a weighting scale. (So while Hawaii is quite far, it’s small size decreases its effect on the mean location. In contrast, Alaska, while being similarly far, would contribute much more due to its larger area) then we could make a center of the USA triangle… for math reasons
Super idée 👍👍👍👍MERCI❤
Thanks! Cheers and happy camping!
I grew up in Saratoga, and spent plenty of time in the Snowy Range. Been to the top of Medicine Bow Peak a few times. Been to the top of Kennedy Peak and hunted Elk and Deer in those mountains most of my life. I've camped all over them. I've driven the pass more times than I can count and even snowmobiled up around Lake Marie.
Nice
Wouldnt the new one be out in the ocean?
