usually when aretha is sharing a stage especially with other woman she is making sure she does not get outshined lol. She will let them know she is the queen. But whenever she sings with her sisters she does not mind letting them shine and sing. Aretha is more in fan mode with her sisters. she loved her sisters and loved sharing the stage with them and heating them sing.

I miss aretha, she was the best singer in all the whole wide world, perked me up when I’d hear the first chord of a song i would get straight with it, it was made for me her music I can’t describe it otherwise. This is gospel singing. I despair at all that grotesque yelling and death wailing they do today - almost like devil worship has taken over. You can't find a voice like this - the greatest voice in recording history. Period.

The world had never heard a voice like that - and never will again. Just be thankful she passed our way.

A shaft of light, a glimpse of heaven.

Reminds me of church camp at Lakeside when I was a teenager. We used to sing this every year on the last day. We'd light candles and walk down to the pier on Lake Erie. I loved those times so much. I felt so close to God back then and it hurts my soul that I don't feel that closeness anymore. 😞
