This is a great video! To make it even better, I suggest slowing down the pace a little and showing how to navigate to the settings from the home page by clicking on the settings app. Additionally, it would be helpful to explain how to swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification bar and access the settings menu, as demonstrated in the video. Since the notification bar is already pulled down when you say "go to settings," viewers who aren't familiar with this action might feel confused or stuck right from the start. These small adjustments would make the video clearer and more beginner-friendly.

I find it ironic how it's alway young people pitching phone's for the senior's. I'm but one nearly a hundred million or more senior's. We can wear glasse's to view the various normal size screens make larger ones a moot point, we can utilize our finger's to zoom in, again making larger screen's a moot point. We don't to the N-th degree make movie's of our selves doing anything, and the numeber of selfies we take are nearly zero. We don't play game's on them, we don't listen to music on them. However due to the old antiquaited home phone's one can still utilze's if and when they are stuck in their homes still work. Not on the go, make any cell phone a moot point. But in regard's to those of us not stuck in the house, are need's for a cell phone are madated to be one we can actually hear. Cell phone's come with at least one small speaker, which can because of it's size, the volumn is limited or it will break the speaker. Those phone having more than one, have even smaller speaker's than a phone with one. Thus one is unable to increase the volumn when they will all break. Wearing ear bud's regardless of them being wired or blue toothed. Are useless when one is hard of hearing as the majority of senior's are and have to generally wear an ear phone device to hear. Meaning there's no room for an ear bud. Why is it, one "NEVER EVER" see's an actual senior promoting a cell phone for senior's. Hmmmm

Thank you for sharing your perspective! You’ve raised some valid points, and I’d like to share why smartphones can still be beneficial for seniors, even for those who might not use them in the same ways younger generations do. 1. Accessibility Features: Modern smartphones come with advanced accessibility tools, such as adjustable text sizes, voice commands, and hearing aid compatibility (HAC), making them useful for seniors with vision or hearing challenges. For instance, features like live captions, louder ringtone options, and compatibility with hearing aids address some of the hearing concerns you mentioned. 2. Safety and Connectivity: Phones aren’t just for entertainment. Seniors can use them to stay connected with family through video calls or messages, especially when they live far away. Emergency features like SOS calling, fall detection on smartwatches paired with phones, or tracking tools like AirTags for those prone to wandering make phones lifesaving tools. 3. Health Management: Many phones support health apps that track medication schedules, step counts, heart rate, and more. Paired with devices like smartwatches, they can help seniors maintain their health while on the go. 4. Alternative to Landlines: While landlines may still be functional, smartphones offer mobility. For seniors who enjoy traveling or need to stay connected outside the home, a smartphone ensures they can always reach help when needed. 5. Ease of Use: Companies are designing phones specifically for seniors, with louder speakers, simplified interfaces, and larger buttons. Brands like Jitterbug and features like “Easy Mode” on Samsung devices cater directly to senior needs. You’re right-it would be great to see more seniors promoting phones and features tailored for their age group. In the meantime, creators like me are here to highlight these benefits and ensure seniors are informed about technology that can enhance their lives. What do you think? Are there specific features or solutions you’d like to see?

@boomerstechshow I'm being closer to 76 than 75 are one of those referred to as a Boomer and as such I took earily retirrement and after loosing two penision's in a divorce. Mandated to live somewhere if I wanted to maintain a the quality of life I had become accustumed to, when having lived in the U.S.A. my entire life. Being on only a fixed incomce from Social Security. Moved to Mazatlan Sinaloa MX. With the divorce rate being high and getting higher as it is in the U.S.A. More and more "BOOMER'S being retired are moving to Mexico and other third world countries. Which don't have nearly the same technology as great as that of the U.S.A. Meaning where as 3G service is almost non-existent in the U.S.A. as it's being replace with 5G, because the tower's are only able to hold two of the various "G" service's. In the technology, because those U.S. companies, get a tax bennifit for giving their 3G servicing equipment to third world countries. Except in the area's where as only retired professional's live. Is there 4 and now 5 G severice. The rest of a major city and no small city has but 3 G service. The smart phone vs the upgrade old flip phone's, have the abilty to utilze app's in which one can use to make intercontinatal long distant's call's for free. Where as any cell phone company in the U.S.A. allow's continatal call's free, they too useing the same app's can make intercontinental calls free. Where as third world countire's continatal call's are not free, we much use the same app's for both. The single biggest issue I and all other's BOOMER'S here where I live have with thus far any and all, regardless of brand and model. Is the ability to hear. The U.S.A. is almost to the N-th degree set up for using the variuos other app's available, but to the same N-th degree, third world countries are not. Thus all of the various app's that may be usefull in the U.S.A. become basically part of which is referred to as bloatware, in a third world country. Thus we don't need all the variuos faster ram, we don't need the extended storage let alone additional SD storage. We don't need camera's. The single most important function of our using a cell phone, being a smart one or a dumb one, is when as they were first implemented. One can utilze them as a "PHONE" if and when not at home. And the most important part of a phone in it's abitlity to talk to someone not in the same room, same house, same block, same town, city etc. etc. etc. is to hear what's being said. The speaker's on cellphon's are so small, one isn't and shouldn't ever max the volumn, because of the damage it will cause to the small speaker's. Not being able to fix them mean's having to replace the phone. Newer phone's having more than one speaker, utilze even smaller speaker's. Thus the same issue when one is mandated if they want to hear, to max the volumn, which will sometime immidiately sometime's longer damage it so as it doesn't work, causing one to have to replace it again. Having no use for one camera, today's cell phone have dedicated space for sometime six camera's on the back and one somewhere in the front. Should they utilize the area the six camera's take up with one larger speaker. BOOMER'S would be standing in line to purchase it. The number of us boomer's are soon going to be joined by the eldest of the generation following us boomer. When they if lucky have the ability to retire eariler than that of the normal age the Social Security allow's. And even those who have to wait for that particular age. Meaning at my age, I'm only in the middle age of boomer's. There's more to come, which will be followed poste haste by those old next generation, I belive are referred to as"X or Z". IN which will also have the same issue with cell phones, when they can't hear also. I realize that I got a bit long winded, when all I had to say was "LARGER SPEAKER'S". But then not speaking the language here, nor understanding it. My only form of communication with anyone speaking English, when the dam phone can't be heard, is texting. So I have a tendency to run my mouth. Using my finger's insted. Good day to you and your's.

My first smartphone was a iPhone 4s so I don't have to deal with laggy androids of that time, the next phone I brought was android and the time I switched to android all the laggy and slow problem androids have had resolved and been using android since then. What came to say is I'm not a apple fanboy and just a guy who got to use ios as first smartphone. To the main topic, I think ios is best for elderly people because they have constant ios updates for years, safe and secure apps in app store and updates don't have big changes. I seen my dad clicking things while reading news on browser and notifications coming in constantly like waves. I fear that one of these days he gonna click something and install a malicious app. Personally speaking those who are really tech savvy need Android, as for elderly who use it for calls, WhatsApp, RUclips and news ios is better.

Most seniors don't care about flagship features and AI. Android offers good, dependable phones that will fulfill a regular user's needs at a low price. Samsung's lower priced phones even come with 5 years of updates. I think most seniors would be best off to check out Samsung's A series phones.

This video, and probably many others in your series, are also very applicable for those who are new to smartphones. It is a huge leap from using a flip phone to a smartphone. Made extremely difficult at smartphone manufacturers do not provide a printable User Manual. (Relying on RUclips videos for functions is totally unacceptable. Inexcusable when one is buying a mid-range phone.)
