Music, Spoken Word, and Miscellanea houses a collection of rare-ish audio recordings that are not easily found elsewhere. The focus of the channel is on spoken word, particularly poetry, as well as leftfield music from privately pressed records and library music.
These recordings, in some instances, offer a unique listening experience. The emphasis lies in preserving and making accessible these often elusive audio snippets, as they might hold some cultural and historical significance. Even if that significance is simply not forgetting this cultural detritus and ephemera existed.

Here’s "Untitled Track 2" from the Psychoses Suite-a piece that feels somehow more unnerving because it lacks a name. It sits alongside titles like Tension, Schizophrenia, and Nightmare, yet remains unclaimed, adding to the sense of something elusive and troubling. Short, unsettling, and edging toward madness, this track captures a creeping, quiet dread that lingers long after it’s over.

Kind of eerie; strings set off a sort of saddened tone, the voices and saxophone create a sombre atmosphere. Then everything thickens up; but the mood does not really lighten.

Another Joe Sherman number - up tempo, nice drums and brass. Definitely would not feel out of place in the Austin Powers soundtrack. Lovely easy sax; pretty groovy.

Joe Sherman's composition for Synchro Fox - it almost has a Northern Soul-esque quality to it. Pumping little library number, brass and drums. Nice.

Quirky little piece from Roger Roger on Chappell. It is from a collection of loosely classical sounding cues. A slow wistful theme for flute, guitar, organ, bass and drums.

The album as a whole is a bit mixed in terms of tone - there are some absolute bangers on there though. These Dream Themes are lovely, gentle, and enjoyable on a Sunday evening. Written by Paul Rupert Lewis.

The recording took place in March 1970 and I'm certain would have been pressed very shortly afterwards by a firm in Newcastle.
