For the last 15 years, I’ve worked as a footwear designer.
Every second, enormous amount of goods are produced and
At the same time, incredible amount of products become landfill.
Faster and cheaper, mass production is required to get low cost, though we know most of them are going to the bin.
Do we really need to sell that many different designs?
Aren’t we buying products just for the sake of buying?
Surely same for food industry and many others.
If we can make things from scratch, could it possibly reduce waste?
What can be done at home instead of buying a ready made?
I’m exploring “Small steps for living slower”

Making my own Birthday Cake | Chocolate Cake | Bake it Yourself
I use a Tefal saucepan to bake a sponge instead of cake mould.
Then you’ll need a whisk and a spatula.
No much fancy tools are required to get started!

● 100g All purpose flour
● 25g Cocoa Powder
● 100g Sugar
● 4 eggs
● 30g Butter
● 10g Milk

Wearing one may attract a male dragonfly though 😅 But this year I'm thinking of making some. Trying to find what will work best for our situation. We've had a decrease in dragon flies and an increase in wasps. Carpenter and Bumble Bees will fight off most wasps in an area they want to protect, but the red wasps, sometimes fight back. I need to figure out if we can make dragon fly window clings to maybe scare off the wasps that keep making nests under the roof awnings, because they're getting into the siding and making their way into the house! 😬 And I'm allergic, so placing plastic clear wrap over the windows and masking tape around the window frames (inside), can only last til they figure out they can try to get through some slits in the ceiling. We don't have a tyipcal ceiling material, it looks like narrow wood flooring pieces, so there's gaps. And when new roofing was being done last year, they found multiple wasp nests.
Wow, you have a serious situation. We came back from camping in the mountains yesterday. There were many wasps(not huge ones) around while having breakfast near the tent. So I tested my DIY dragonflies. I can't tell you exact scientific result, but I had a impression that it worked fairly ok. Some waspes came to table, then it seemed that they scared off. Hanging dragonflis were more effective than wearing ones, in my opinion. Good luck for your battle against wasps!

It's acrylic yarn I used. I chose acrylic because I want to wash them in the machine with other clothes :)
