We did not get to see downtown at all and was looking forward to what gives just showing some houses?
this is your worst vid you did not show fountain downtown at all
South Fork/Delnorte area is pretty. Wolf creek is quiet but pretty. All of southern colorado and Northern NM is amazing
I enjoy your videos because I see Colorado as an area in which four cultures or more: the Native, Hispanic, French and English, which have been forging the peculiar current American culture in the region that I am getting to know from a distance with the hope of being there one day. As always I send greetings for you and your family from Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.
I think you presented and summed up this area very well. Very Accurate in my opinion. I think the only thing you missed was the best thing Fountain has going for it......Western Omelet restaurant on 85/87! We enjoy getting breakfast there on occasion. 👍👍
You mentioned about how many murals were in Pueblo, which is great, yet it is to bad you didn't get to see the worlds largest murals which used to be along the Arkansas River. The city had to make a hard decision to replace the levee where the mural was. Although, many artists are slowly starting their work.
Great History Video 📹 👏 👌 👍 🙌 ❤️ 😊
Awesome 💚👌👏👍
when I saw this, i was like "why the heck would anyone go to fountain?!" 😂 like you aptly summed up, it's a cheap place to live, but that's about all... cool details on jimmy camp creek, always wondered why it was called that. lol, saw you are headed up here to fort collins next year, you're gonna love it!...one of the nicest communities in the country, imo. ❤
I worked in Fountain a little over a year and knew what I was getting into, which is not much lol. I've heard great things about Fort Collins from many people. Surprisingly have never been there besides driving through on I25
@@SkiLodgeColorado lol, great news, i25 is 4 miles east of "real" fort collins! (meaning the far east side is pretty lame.) summer is really quiet here like a small town, but your planned visit in september will be hoppin, especially around the university. as always, love your videos, much thanks!
I'm enjoying your videos. I feel bad for my first comment being a little bit negative but I have to say: I'm from here but I will never pronounce it "byoona Vista". I think it's a false legend that they wanted it to sound like "beautiful". It's just the way English speaking people butcher Spanish words, the same way we butchered Salida and Salina (and so many others here). Anyway it's a small nitpick but it's a huge pet peeve of mine, I will call it "BV" (and sometimes when I feel like annoying the locals I'll use the Spanish pronunciation 😊). Anyway, thanks for making these great videos. They're super fun to watch
It's all good, I just report it how it is. Thanks for watching!
I cringed also when I heard the pronunciation at the beginning of the vid , never been to this lovely place and am Canadian and never heard any one in my live pronounce Beuna that way and did not even realize that there was a contention with the name and glad Ski Lodge explained. Sad really that we cannot leave well alone and not parrot the error.
@@lindamorgan2678 Yeah, totally agree. I know it really is the official name of the town but it's just a butchering of the original word. We've done it to three or four other towns here along the same area like Salida and Salina but none of them are as egregious in my opinion as Byoony. I respect the video makers decision to use the local's nomenclature though
@@generalstoaschicken Thanks for your reply. I found this video as I was searching for a Monastery in the area of town. There is not much about it Thanks again
I grew up in Cripple Creek
Great content, love your videos!
I really enjoyed your video and I’m glad you enjoyed your time in the area. I would like to correct one thing. Most basic needs are covered in town, many just choose to go elsewhere because of higher prices and less verity. We have a grocery store, hardware store, doctors office, dentist office, physical therapy. Also, thanks to the Aspen Mine Center, we have dedicated offices for Colorado Workforce Center and Social Services. And many other services that come here once or twice a week. There have many times I was unable to leave town for months but definitely didn’t feel like I wasn’t being able to get basic needs.
These city-by-city videos are awesome! Just the overview/history/culture I was looking for.
That's why I make them! Thanks for watching
Thank you Very informative and Interesting
You missed the most important of of La Junta and that is the sale barns, million of cattle go through this town every year
Excellent video!
THERE WAS ONCE A HUGE BOOKSTORE THERE
Tattered Cover?
This is one of the few communities in Colorado that have an Amish community.
When I tell people I was born there I always clarify “not at the prison”.
I really appreciate your work and I am enjoying getting to know your beautiful homeland; COLORADO. Thank you so much! Greetings from Guaymas, Sonora, México.
Thanks for checking it out, always appreciate seeing your comments!
I hat to say but i noticed what you said at the last part but i have an old map of huerfano and Lathrop or some where near there was named ni@#&r head....
Wow never been there wonder what that like 😂😂!! Not nice people they just judge people!!! Better be great at football!!!or a sport or your perent be a cop or teacher!! Or get special treatment at that school!!!!❤🎉or u nothing🎉😢
Fantastic video. The Ark Valley is incredible.
You nailed Trinidad....I was there for a short time but loved it. I traveled there as a single woman, stayed at the Old Savoy Hotel which is a bit haunted, had visions, etc. got a tour by a local guitar shop owner, who confirmed my visions which I tried to keep to myself but he confirmed my visions. If I live to be 80, hopefully not, I might return to Trinidad, Co. I absolutely loved it.
Nice job on this one too. This is a nice area. I spent 27 years in Marble, CO. Recently moved to Grand Junction so I have enjoyed seeing these places having only been through there once or twice. Thanks and nice post.
Thanks for watching! Gonna be awhile until we make it out that way but I can't wait to see the area
Eww that means rat 🐀
Nice job on this post from an often overlooked area of Colorado.
PUEBLO COLORADO is the ass crack of the state. One of the highest crime rates in the United States. Auto theft top 5 in the country. Violent crimes: 89 per 1000 Anybody tells you Pueblo is a good place is lying 🤥 or just don't know the truth.
Thank you so much for this! Castle Rock is one of my favorite places and I appreciate the thoughtful presentation.
Just stopped in to warn anyone looking to potentially move to Pueblo West. Buying a house here was the worst mistake of my life. I spent five years here. The first thinking that it couldn't be that bad and the next 4 scrambling to get out. I now live in Savannah Georgia and couldn't be happier. The people in general are off in Pueblo West. It is a huge veteran retirement town and a higher than normal percentage of the population has issues with substance abuse and domestic violence. They are either undereducated, aggressive and rude or simple. This is not meant as an insult, there are good people here too, who are probably trying to move away! This is not a one off judgement, I have lived all over the country in various states (NH, CA, NJ, NY, TX, FL, GA) and cities including Colorado Springs which was lovely. When it came to the choice of where to buy a house in Colorado, Pueblo West caught us with the low housing costs. It's not an accident, you don't want to move here.
nice video, beautiful area , it looks like tourist season, lots of vehicles in the towns.
My favorite video so far is because of the history of the area.
I was this area's beer delivery guy several years back, it was an honor getting to know the region up close
Great video and the The Skyrocketing prices ' of Colorado is the future of the area
Great video, again. Thanks so much for making these.
Control City Freak's arch nemesis
The fact that there is a prison right outside of town should be everything you need to know about BV. That, and the kind of cultural ignorance that would, in the twenty first century yet, purposefully malign the Spanish language that was responsible for the name of the town, by pronouncing it as "Bew-na Vista". Thanks, but no thanks.
Wait until your hear about Del Norte. I live in Nathrop. Because people couldn't pronounce a German last name. Calm down.
@@Puddlef1sh there are no prisons in Del Norte, chum. BIG difference.
My grandfather built 107 south path, check out the cemetery.....
Thank you once again.
Thank you. I like Cuchara. Nice Scenery. Good job! From Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.
Fantastic. So much info crammed into 15 minutes, excellent, and riveting. Makes me want to go there right NOW!
Was just up at bear and blue lake 👍 thanks 🫡
nice one, thanks!...lol, i lived in southern colorado for 2 years and never even heard of this place. think imma check it out this fall, when the trees change. 👍
Early October is the best time to do so. CO-12 makes for an excellent day trip
Thank you for this very informative video. I lived in Florissant from three to twelve years old,1960's to the 70's. I took the school bus, rain (LOTS OF SNOW ), or shine to Victor Elementary up to sixth grade and then 7th grade in Cripple Creek. I have many fond memories. We would walk the hills finding many arrowheads and turquoise. I never knew all this history and I again, thank you for this video!
