swing heads are amazing , specially for smallmouth
For sure! It’s probably my favorite technique in the winter when the smallies get tight to the bottom.
Close to an ouch!!😮
Hi there, I’m looking to get started crappie fishing. Do you know any places to find submerged wood in your local lake?
Hello! I believe in your local lake submergent vegetation would be ideal, especially with the lower water levels. Most emergent vegetation has fizzed out now, but the submergent that is still green will hold the larger concentration of post spawn crawfish from their last dark moon breeding season. I like to fish these areas with a saltwater spook for early fall slabs 😂
@ thanks, I’ll be looking for submerged vegetation the next time I go! Im sure it’ll be easy to find with my flasher.
@@willjones4152make sure to find those deep weed lines …that’s where the bigger papermouths will post up during those chilly December days to come. It’s all about the weeds on your home pond
I think just one more advantage to help you like you it doesn’t put fish in the boat
I wish it would make em jump in the boat sometimes!😂 unfortunately it hasn’t worked that way yet !!!
great choice of baits
They all work pretty well year round, but shine in the fall for sure 👍
Good job Bub ❤😊❤😊❤
I have taken a few of my double willowleafs and removed the upper willowleaf blade. I'm experimenting with moving the now single blade closer to the tie in loop just a scooch. A lot of the compact/finesse spinnerbaits are hard to find in heavier weights, and their blades already go back way past the skirt. This helps clean up the profile a little and gets the blade over the top of the bait a little better. Less lift. Less torque to "roll" the bait when you want to churn and burn. Keep the extra blades in the boat and you can do a lot of tweaking on the water to get more or less lift/speed.
That’s a great idea! I’ll have to do that. I prefer that my blades not extend way past the hook. So I like to keep some small tubing to space my blades up a bit on the frame.
Hi, good informative video, what is the name of that blue rod you have there?
That is an Allstar AST they are great rods for under $100 and you can get them at Academy
I’m a beginner in fishing. I only have the beginner baits and Lures.
You dont need a lot of baits. Dont get caught up in the lures. Practice with the ones you have
Please make videos on night fishing for bass in the Spring, Summer and Fall
I can do that! I love night fishing! Especially in the summer and early fall
My mom has a house in southern Indiana right on the Ohio river. With a boat ramp in walking distance. Just south of Madison. I just brought my new to me skeeter in January and can wait to get on the river and try my luck. Any suggestions
That is awesome! The river can be tough, but depending on the time of year and river conditions, it can be awesome. Right now I’d start to focus in the mouth of the creeks and springs that feed in. The Shad will start to group up here as the days get shorter and the water cools.
@@so.inoutdoors cool thank you sir. I’d love to get out there and follow you around one day and learn some things.
My favorite place to go. And not to far from Indy
I love it! It can be tough but it beats the lakes we have around southern Indiana
Lmao
This is funny I can imagine trying to keep her out there to spot you some fish😂
She wouldn’t put up with it very long😂
All the plastic chemicals that leaked from the train derailment in ohio.
😂probably so!
Good channel
Thanks !
Man I love your channel. My favorite videos are the river and tributary videos, but I like watching em all
I’m glad you like it, I’m headed to the river in the morning. Hoping the smallmouth will start to show up on some current spots!
Looks like the Metro flat this spring. I could not fish in that fleet of boats.
It can be a zoo at times! 😂
i couldnt imagine tryin to fish northern lakes and the ohio river without livescope. it 100% hurts the crappie population on the smaller inland ohio lakes. at least the amish dont have it yet or the lakes would be empty. lol
😂 that’s no doubt!
Keep up the heat...951 and almost at the partnership summit...o yea!!
Dang...giant smallies!
I’ve been really fortunate to get several trips annually to St Clair. It’s crazy good now, but 10-12 years ago it was crazy good. Fishing your lakes back home will never be the same now.
I hear ya, I’m actually at st. Clair right now for my second trip this year and 4th time here in the last couple years. it makes me not want to fish at home anymore 😂
Menthol Zoom Trick worm is right by my 1/4 buzzbait....great follow up bait on the short strikes!!!! This combo has caught me a bunch of bass on the Ohio for years!!!
I have 9" with live and 360, and I'm contemplating adding a 12" is the 12" that much better? Does it have a better resolution?
I run the 360 on my 12, and mega live on the 9, the picture on the 12 with live seems a bit more stretched. I feel the live picture quality is better on the 9 personally.
That's exactly why I'm getting Mega Live. I hate fishing without knowing if their are fish around or not. Fishing deep is something I've always wanted to do so with ffs I believe I'll have more confidence. Great video, thanks for your time
Been doing better on the main than in creeks. They were hitting swimbaits with an underspin blade this past weekend. Good luck.
Hog stalker is a good name
Love the vids 👍
What kinda rods are them your fishing with?
All star nano graphite rods , I have been using them for about 5 years now and they take the abuse. They are as good as any $200 rod I’ve ever owned and are less than 1/2 the cost! Stiff back bone but a forgiving tip.
Watching from rainy Florida ! I miss that ramp and that river. It’s hot here too ! But saltwater fish have me hooked 😂
No doubt! I love that too! I love catching snook and reds!
Which ramp is that? I fish from Meade county Ky. Between mcalpine and cannelton
Ohio river at Blue river. Kind of hard to find but if you look at satellite images and follow blue river to the Ohio you’ll see it.
East of cannelton
@@jtotherogI love to fish buck creek and Otter creek too!
Gets me every time
They are still fun to catch tho! 😊
Patoka 🤣🤣🤣
lol!
Also a Southern Indiana Channel. Nice tips, good info.👍
Awesome! I’ll sub your way, Hope to see ya on the water!
Gotta love a stupid tube !!!
In the shallows
I been catching a lot of 2lb-3lb bass on the stupid tube and poppers at patoka!Your top 5 is pretty spot on👍
What part of the river are you fishing?
Around the Brandenburg, Ky area, about halfway between the Louisville pool and Cannelton Locks.
Way to go, boys! 🎣 Take me back! 🫶🏼🌴☀️🌊
I've been fishing a little over 60 years and become more disgusted at the way people release fish these days and more so when I see Dad throwing a fish back instead of carefully releasing it in front of his child a future fisherman .
Thanks for your opinion, even tho I disagree to some extent. But I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a great day.
Love the vids man i live in southern indiana to and fish patoka all the time
Awesome. I love Patoka, it just don’t love me back😂
@@so.inoutdoors same man lol
Def need to wear that life jacket in these conditions.Be safe man 👍
Great move!
Nice!!!! On the road to 1000!!!
Great video 🎣🇺🇸
No doubt! I figured I better do it, before I get too old and can’t!😂
Nice fish...I think u have slimmed down since I saw a video a while back...getting in shape to hunt those bass :)
Nice fish
Sweet fish! It's like a dance going on on the deck...very smooth operator...me, not so much 😅
lol! It’s more chaotic than it looks , ahh the power of editing😂. Have you been to Patoka lately? We caught a few nice ones there a month or so ago. We will be at Kentucky lake this weekend, I love the LBL area!
💞Wow🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🧡🤍🤍
I’ve found fishing the banks around the marina at patoka and up those 3 fingers off to the right are good for decent largemouth with an 8” black Berkeley power worm. Most of the tournament bass stick around this area for a while when released and black seems to be a failsafe color. Been fishing patoka for 38 years. Painters creek area at the stickups for crappie seems to work better than anywhere else.
Around the release area is good for sure, lots of the fish once released kind of hang around for a good while. Can’t beat the ol power worm! I like black or my favorite color is tequila sunrise. Good luck on the water and have a blessed day.
Good fishing me and my dad wanna fish here we usually fish at Nolin.
It can be fun. But I love Nolin!
Nice. I need to get down there soon
It’s fishing decent right now. It’ll be good once they come off the spawn. Tight lines !!!
I have the state championship next weekend in patoka any tips?
