What is purpose and where do u connect the red wire in 33inches wire?
You connect it to the wire that powers your reverse lights on your tail light. When you put it in reverse it triggers the reverse guidance lines. I didn’t install it because where my rear camera is located the lines aren’t really accurate or useful. Plus I have the Dasaita G13 head-unit for reverse guidance. Hope this helps
@ ok so its just optional. Because my effin cat chewed about almost 8 or 10” off of the red wire.

I installed a new G13 unit on Christmas Day. There are two issues I’ve noticed. Any help in fixing them would be appreciated. 1. The parking sensors are not working (chiming) when close to objects. 2. The steering wheel control isn’t proper; Skip tune function used to be up and now it’s down. Replay tune used to be down but it no longer works. I’ve emailed Dasaita about the sensors but they have not replied. Will keep everyone posted.
So, I’ll reach out regarding the sensors. I don’t have those on my Runner so I can’t help you there. Do you have Instagram? I can tell you very quickly how to fix controls over the phone, but I don’t want to post my number on here. DM me on Instagram @5Gen4R

How do you feel about using the inj for the headlights? I hear people say not to mess with the inj find somewhere else to tap into
@@jonathanmariani5627 to be honest, I am not a fan of putting anything on the existing fuses. I live in Michigan and in the winter, I fear that if anything extra is tied into the fuses, it’s potentially putting additional load on the battery during starting. If your battery is old or not fully charged for whatever reason, it could be the difference between the vehicle turning over or not…. I have an Auxbeam for this exact reason-every thing extra stays off when I start my vehicle, and I turn them on via the Auxbeam once the vehicle is started. Same goes for the headlight DRLs. That’s just my thinking and preference.
I purchased these as soon as they hit the market. All my lights are Meso Customs and they are insanely bright. I’m currently making a DIY for the puddle pods for my 4Runner where I can still keep my side mirror cameras.
I'd love to see your DIY, when you’re done! I love all of my Meso lights.
Like the channel but don't agree with this filter, I know your prob getting paid for this promo. But with that said, Toyota built the 4runner to last as long as it does as is. The paper filters are like 6 bucks at the dealer. Why go spend double to just to get spin on filters. Just to avoid the extra step. Then remove and modify more parts. Send like a big waste for little possibly negative benefit....
@locoxti88 hey thanks- I appreciate it! So, I’m actually not getting paid by anybody, nor have I ever. I personally like the ease of oil changes coupled with the fact that I can run a larger filter. The added benefit is that with this set up, oil isn’t allowed to back flow out of the engine when the car is off, unlike the OEM paper filters. It’s an extra “safety measure” in place that you don’t have with the OEM version. That being said, yes- like you stated-Toyotas are bulletproof, that’s exactly why I bought one. I don’t mind spending a couple bucks more for a larger spin on filter, especially since the difference in cost is minimal with my military discount. To each their own I guess!
Your explanation of installing the oil filter adapter for a spin-on filter was incredibly thorough and perfectly detailed, making the process so much easier to understand. Pairing it with the steps to reset the maintenance reminder was the cherry on top! This setup truly feels like an upgrade over the OEM design. The widespread use of spin-on filters not only adds convenience but also significantly speeds up oil changes. When combined with a Fumoto drain spout, the entire process becomes remarkably efficient and less messy-an absolute game-changer for anyone maintaining their vehicle.
@@Immanent_Resolve hey thank you very much for the kind words! I appreciate it! This setup is killer!
Definitely an interesting product. If anything I do plan on swapping out the one plastic housing for the metal housing. I do think these are somewhat of a hard sell with so many of these engines running with crazy miles using the stock setup. I believe this adapter is more convenient though, no doubt about that. Once my free oil changes are done and over with, I’ll probably start doing them myself. Still shocked at Toyotas newer 10 k mile oil change interval…. Especially when the change light comes on at 5k miles. Every 5 k miles for me of course. Those Fumoto valves are really convenient as well…. Many folk in the Raptor crew use those. Awesome video brother!
@@ChristianGrest hey I get it!… I stick to 5k as well, no exceptions! The Fumoto valve is so convenient that I’ll never go back to the bolt!…. Thank you again!
Those are solid man! Love how those look. Have seen them around. I did the courtesy lights with the logos in the lens front and rear. I like how they come with both style plugs to fit multiple years. Good choice on the manufacturer to do that.
@ChristianGrest Yea Meso makes some great products man! I’m super happy with all of their stuff. And yea, to have the thought of making something that fits numerous years is genius!
They teamed up with a guy with 489 subscribers? Give me a break.
@cj8489 hey, we all start somewhere. No need to be rude. But no- at the time, they teamed up with someone who has 300 subscribers. I saw you have no subscribers on RUclips, which means you probably have no idea how much more difficult it is to gain subscribers on here than it is on other platforms like IG, TT, or X. They didn’t have an install video for the 4Runner, so when I pitched it to them they were on board. Have a good day
Subs don’t mean anything, brands team up with people who make good content that will be seen!
Brands team up with people that have a ton of followers/subscribers or a person willing to tow the company line for a price or access.
@@ProjectAbate Definitely have to start somewhere. I’m not knocking that. I’m knocking the fact that you’re pitching this as something more than a product that simply makes it more convenient for people. That’s it. Nothing more. Get subscribers by dealing in facts and not misinformation.
@ You sound like you know what you’re talking about but you actually don’t. A brand sends out a product to someone who will make a video that gets seen and once it makes views and a few sales they have made their money back. Then when trolls like you comment on the video it makes it more successful which will generate more sales. I’m sure you have a lot of knowledge on marketing a product with the massive amount of subs you have right?
This is a complete waste of money. Your factory housing and filter do the same job. If changing the oil with factory components is either to difficult for you or to cumbersome of a process then by all means, but to try and sell this as anything other than a more convenient way to change a filter is bs.
@@cj8489 you are entitled to your own opinion and belief, as I am. Have a good day
I've never fill the oil filter when I made oil change and all my cars went beyond 300,000 kms before falling appart by rust
@@michelbrown1060 that’s the worst. Rust is the enemy!
This adapter will change the oil pressure and you really dont want this happening on a dual vvti engine. Better staying stock here
Indeed, the oil pressure will be different with this. Although I don't think it is a huge deal, but why add more complexity to it. Nice video and installation though.
What's the difference between the Form and the V-land lights? They look better than the morimoto ones. All though the morimotos are probably brighter
Cant speak on behalf of the V-land ones as I’ve never owned them. I prefer the Morimotos, and they are 110% brighter than the others
If I do this to my 4Runner that has 200,000 miles on its original factory oil filter housing will it make it go another 200k problem free? I think I will just stick to my factory housing.
@@WinterBonus to each their own
Seems like there is no way to connect the superchargers to the brights only? Looks like it's gotta be one plate or the other. My lights are coming Thursday, so I watched your vid in preparation. Good video, things explained/demonstrated well. Also: Do you have spacers on your wheels? If so how do you feel they impact driving?
Unfortunately no. It’s either superchargers or no superchargers. Thank you! I do not have spacers. I did for one day, but they caused too much rubbing. If you check my Instagram (@5Gen4R) you can see the new suspension I put on it and 34” tires!

Where do you all connect the red wire from the back-up camera. I went back and forth on the video and I did not see when he connected or where he connected it!?
@john-yh9wf you connect it to your tail lights reverse light wire by a wire tap. You’ll have to see what color wires you have and then google which wire activates the reverse lights. Or I can tell you which one I tapped into when I get home this evening. Reason I didn’t install it, is when I had the G900, I did and I was not happy with the reverse lines. Based on where the rear camera sits, and how the reverse lines display, it was not very accurate and the lines pointed up higher than where the car was. Hope this helps
It these were $100, id buy it. But too expensive right now
While I understand, I will also say this- once I had this item in my hand, it makes sense why it costs what it does. It’s machined with quality parts and is built solid & to last. There’s a saying, buy once, cry once. I think it applies here. Built to last!…..
Great video
Thanks, glad you liked it! Make sure you enter the giveaway!
Joe, Fantastic video! Just what I needed for my rear camera install. I do have a question. I've run the power cable exactly the way you specified with no issue. When it comes to attaching the fuse tap, I've identified the B+ and ACC. I found 2 fuse sockets that were not being used, no fuses installed but give the proper power. My question for you is, did you not put the plastic Fusebox cover on or modify by cutting holes? Additionally, while the fuse taps are snug, I feel they could come out. What's your opinion on this?
Hey, thank you! I did not put the plastic cover back on but I believe Minwin3D on Instagram makes a cover. If you use my code “5Gen4R” it’ll save you 10% off site-wide! My taps have never given me an issue! Did you make sure you used the correct size?

Hi, Great video man. I I have few questions. Does 3.5mm aux in works on a new stereo. Do they include a plug to connect original usb port? Also are you able to preview Backup camera without putting the car in reverse? Also what happens if you say in carplay - google or apple maps and you want to change your radio station from one to another using your steering wheel keys will it kick you out of carplay. Thanks man.
@@soldiernyc1 hey, thank you very much. I really appreciate it! I have not tested the 3.5 mm aux, but I know that the USB that is associated with it does work. There is an attachment for your existing USB that allows you to supply power to it, etc. I do not believe there’s a way to preview the reverse camera without putting it in reverse. If you are using CarPlay, and are listening to the radio, you can switch the stations with your steering wheel controls. I do it all the time on my 4Runner. CarPlay will still function and allow you to use maps and other apps while the radio is on in the background and you are changing stations from the controls on your steering wheel. I hope this helps!
@ProjectAbate Thanks man. Wondering if you run and connect front camera for off-road purposes, there has to be a way to preview those somehow. From my understanding both units you have in your 4Runner and Taco have multiple cameras in.
@@soldiernyc1 It’s my dad’s Taco, but I did connect a cam for the rear. Same concept as the front. Just have to set it as front cam instead of reverse!
Will look at suspension lifts sometime down the road. My Dad's old 96' F-150 needs a new transmission, so that's putting a damper on other projects at the moment. Will probably end up doing a mild 2" lift, but don't want the ride to stiffen up too much as I love the plush ride of the stock suspension. Man your 4Runner looks good with those wheels/tires/lift. Those Minwin end caps are pretty sweet... much better than just leaving the stock ones off.
@@ChristianGrest transmission work is never fun…. Fair on suspension stiffening. That being said, I don’t mind how mine rides now! Thank you! I love the stance now! Feels like a new car. And yes, much much better than not having them! @Minwin3D killed it!
Just used this to install my cam on my 2023 ORP! I recommend lubing the wires with a tiny bit of dielectric grease when pulling the wires through the boot in the back. I was struggling for like 10 minutes before I put some on and then had a first pull right after!
@@79turtles awesome! Glad you used my video! And thanks for providing others with a helpful tip! Did install go well?
@ No issues yet. Everything went in just like your video and looks super clean. Thanks for making the video!
@ ahh that makes me happy to hear! Thank you, my pleasure! Just dropped a new video with a giveaway included! Check it out!

Just a PSA, there is an air bag in the A-pillar of all vehicles. Do not tuck wires across the A-pillar like in this video. You can obstruct the air bag during deployment. You need to run your wires behind the airbag to avoid this danger. It's not as easy as tucking but it's a life safety concern
@@seanbenson4481 I’m aware that there’s airbags behind the pillar. That being said, the wire is not in front of the airbags as there are gaps on either sides of the pillar plastic- where I tucked them. It’s not like the wires are draped directly over and across the airbag causing an obstruction. Do as you so choose, but this is not going to cause issues.
What is the difference between the Android13(G13) and the Vivid13 models?
Video is laggy
@@brevinako7669 yes, there’s a glitch that resolves half way through. Tried a new video editing app and wasn’t up to the test I guess
Great presentation. How does this compare to the Viofo A329 in terms of picture quality and sound? Thanks.
@@InGratitudeIam hi! I unfortunately don’t have experience using the Viofo A329, however Viofo advertises the front as 4K and rear as 2K, while Wolfbox advertises front at 4K and rear at 2.5K. If you check the end of the video you can see the video I pulled directly off my G900 Pro. I think as far as quality goes, it’s awesome! Had my Wolfbox for a while and it’s the best I’ve owned so far! Hope this helps!
great video! i'll look into the stiction eliminator as i've never heard of it. just a question, not criticizing, but how is this filter better than the metal housing and OEM filter? The filter elements are much cheaper than the Wix filters and the metal housing is much more durable. Also, the reason they have a drain plug on the OEM filter housing is that the filter sump holds almost 3/4 of a quart of oil. I can only imagine how much of a mess you're going to have when you spin that metal oil filter off.
@@willytrouble88 I’ve always preferred spin on filters. I can’t tell you how many times my OEM one would leak from the drain plug despite changing the gasket and torquing to spec. I also, don’t want to have to clean the filter housing before installing a new filter. Now, WIX is what I grabbed for the video. That doesn’t mean I’ll be using it in the future. Just what I grabbed initially. I always put a cup or bag over the filter before I remove it so it doesn’t make a mess. Never had a problem. That being said, there’s something in development to prevent a mess 😏
I followed your video today with the install of the G900 Pro...it was solid info, & made it an easy /worry-less install. I did mount the rear cam a slightly more to left of wiper w/o any issue. However when the radio is loud the rear cam image does vibrate with the sound of the music. I'm not sure what the cause is. Also I can't get the clock to stay on the correct time. The device is wired so that "ParkingMode" is enabled, but when I turn the car off and back on again the time always changes no matter what it's set to. Any idea what's going on with that? Should I do firmware update? Any info is appreciated.
@@bloodsweatnbass8918 hey man! Glad to hear my video helped you out! Not sure about the vibrating goes? Did you use the double sided tape and screw the cam into the plastic trim piece? Did you set your time zone in the settings? Also, check to see if your daylight savings time is enabled. If it is, try disabling it. I had the same issue until I turned it off. Time stays the same now. Hope this helps!
@@ProjectAbate Yes I did actually. I think its because the spoiler vibrates with the music as well.
@bloodsweatnbass8918 I guess if the music is loud enough that might happen!
